97vapathy
i have searched but have not found much on this so heres my question. I sunk my truck today with water filling up to the bottom of the front seats. Got it out and it drives fine, everything works but my abs light is now on. Is there a way to turn that off? Also my alarm goes off on its own now. Does anyone have any info that could help? thanks paul
nissandoms47
well i guess your alarm box computer and ABS computer are toasted.
97vapathy
also my door open light is on but now fully lit. Its very dim but still on. Could that be why the alarm keeps going off. If the abs is malfuctioning is it still safe to drive on a day to day bases.
XPLORx4
If ABS is malfunctioning, it only means that the ABS is disabled, but the brakes still function normally. However, in an emergency stop, your tires may lock up, so you'll need to pump the brakes to maintain control. If your door ajar light is on, it could be that one of the door switches is poorly grounded. Remove them, clean them up (WD-40 or silicone spray), and see if that helps. mikemike
give it some time to dry out, then see whats still happening. also all of your drivelines need to be serviced now well, at least you should service them
XPLORx4
Good point about the drivetrain parts. It'll be a good idea to change your front and rear diff fluid, t-case fluid, and transmission fluid. The breather lines for those parts may have been submerged and allowed water to enter. Yeah, he did sink his rig This was post recovery and the door was opened, I was too late getting one when the water came pouring out.
97vapathy
not really i am doing it again right now just to be sure though .I checked the codes for the abs light and it came up as the control unit. I gues its toast. Is this something i really have to replace?
navygz19
Not unless you value ABS. The brakes should still work fine regardless. R50's have a tendency to want to lock up the front's pretty easily though, might want to consider replacing it. Contact Ryan?

SaKaNa
My R50 went *over* the seats in water, and it fried my airbag computer, and I STILL havent gotten around to fixing it. I got used to the light after a while. Deep water slowly causes more and more problems.
