Device Under Driver Seat

Hello. What is the device under driver seat in my 93' SEV6 A/T? After I driving 30 mnutes it turns hot.

ABS control unit I believe. I have my XM Tuner mounted on top of it!

Has anyone any idea why that ABS Control Unit turns hot, very hot?

What year were they down there? my 91 dosent have it there. IIRC its right under the radio on mine.

hmm.. so that gets hot too? You need to figure out if the heat is being caused by the exhaust or the control unit... and as I am sure, k9sar will agree you need to figure out the heat issue very soon. He was on vacation and had his carpet catch on fire

anyone know if it's the ABS under there on a 95 SE? looks just like what i've got but i thought it was somethin to do with the heated seats? (obviously not on WRL's cuz there's no equipment next to it just curious cuz i'm still tryin to my damn driver's side seat to start heatin up. it's gettin cold here in CT!)

Define hot:

Literally, smoke is a risin'

Melting the plastic cover?

Can't touch for more than 1 sec?

Can touch for 5 secs, but it really hurts?

Uncomfortable, but can leave hand on it indefinitely?

 

And lastly, compare it to the temperature of the floor right next to it.

Uncomfortable, but can leave hand on it indefinitely, except on ABS Control Unit where I can touch only for 5 secs or less

 

And it is warmest than of the floor right next to it.
