cdhicks99
I think Dexron is the answer your looking for.
RedPath88
I think Dexron is the answer your looking for. No not DEXRON You want... 75 or 80W-90 API GL-4 for the Transfer Case and and the Steering Gear (and although this does not apply to you 513yi... a Manual Transmission) And GL-5 for the front and rear differentials Unless you have a limited slip in the back then it is you need gear oil for limited slip diff's *For those reading this with a 5spd... Do NOT put GL-5 in the Transmission... well, unless you don't want that tranny anymore Edited August 7, 2006 by vengeful

88pathoffroad
My 88 FSM says GL-4 for the manual trans and t-case. The 95 FSM says ATF3 or Dexron II. I'd say they simply changed the lube requirements between 92 and 93 or so. I don't think the t-case design changed at all until like...97 or 99? Precise1
maybe someone can make a post about this and sticky it, any fluid that goes into our trucks gets posted in one post kinda deal I think the real answer is to buy a basic manual... I'd say they simply changed the lube requirements between 92 and 93 or so. More like between 89 and 90... Dextron goes in the 90-95 transfer cases... LOL MZ, I'm not sure that counts...
