  1. wowza!!! The pathfinder oil pan is so small, that it is IMPERATIVE that you always have a good amount of clean oil. VG engines run HOT in our cars and they need to be taken care of. I hope you didn't do any damage.... but if you did, you could technically blame it on Firestone. Always check your @!*%. PS Just a few weeks ago, I also went to a Firestone type place to change my oil (can't beat $12). I was watching the monkey working on my truck to make sure he did everything cool.... everything looked good. I rolled out of there, checked my oil level first thing, and that stupid asshole overfilled it hardcore. The oil level was about an inch above the "High" mark on the stick. I drained it correctyly myself and i am not going back.
  2. hey man thats a nice one... i didn't take any pics since it was slightly raining and the guy destroyed his truck, i didn't want to rub it in with my cell phone camera lol
  3. So I was racing a lifted ranger in the boonies yesterday... he was in front (stock QX4 trying to hang with a super lifted and extended ranger with external shocks - HA HA!!) and he was driving like a bat out of hell, I was simply driving fast when he blew by me throwing dirt in the air. So hes a bit in front of me and we are both driving 80+ on a smooth, baja like road with some slight up and down humps Next thing i know, there's a huge cloud of dirt and smoke, the ranger flipped like three times and stopped resting against a wooden fence, I had to swerve like a maniac to miss him, then next thing, I was out of control and was headed straight for a large drop off!!! I hit the brakes, wheels locked up, ABS kicked in, i was scared for my life!!! All i see is a huge drop in front of me coming up FAST. I pressed on the brakes with my life (which probably wouldnt make a difference since ABS was kicked in) and I braced my body for what I thought would be the end of my SUV and a long fall to the bottom of the valley. The QX4 stopped within one foot of falling to its death. I got out of the car, saw what happened, and started laughing my head off!!! It was unbelievable. 200 feet of brake marks going straight towards the edge, only to stop and dig in about a foot from crashing. The ranger guy was 100% OK and he was laughing too (even though his truck was destroyed) we were both happy to be alive. I offered to help try and flip his truck back to normal (the wheels looked ok) but due to the awkward position against a fence, he waited for a tow truck DRIVE SAFELY GUYS

    brake upgrade

I officially have Wagner/federal-mogul "ThermoQuiet" pads on all my cars now. Great results!! Smooth, quiet, strong braking!!! I was racing a lifted ranger in the boonies yesterday... he was in front (stock QX4 trying to hang with a super lifted and extended ranger with external shocks - HA HA) Next thing i know, there's a huge cloud of dirt and smoke, the ranger flipped like three times and stopped on a fence, I had to swerve like a maniac to miss him, then I was out of control and was headed straight for a large drop off!!! I hit the brakes, ABS kicked in, i was scared for my life!!! All i see is a huge drop in front of me coming up FAST. I pressed on the brakes with my life (which probably wouldnt make a difference since ABS was kicked in) and the QX4 stopped within one foot of falling to its death. Brake pads?? I doubt it, but i'm glad i changed them last week. I also have thermoquiets in my civic si which i do a lot of autocross (parking lot) racing in, and they hold up to a lot of beating!!!
  5. like he said, main wiring rubber grommet. I also drilled a hole next to the metal grommet for my 6 gauge power cable.
  6. yes, in my honda civic i accidentally knocked off a vacuum line to the intake manifold when changing the oil, and it ran stalling etc
  7. I had a stalling jerking problem, turned out to be the top electrode on a Bosch spark plug had come undone and was stuck in the plug wire when i pulled out to check!!! Those little things unscrew off the spark plug and it was all the way off and stuck in the plug wire connector. It was so small I was lucky to notice it messed up!! Just an idea, check all your spark out. Later, I checked all the plugs and 3 of the 6 had loose electrodes .
  8. When me and my friends first turned 16, the first car we went joyriding in was a 92 pathfinder on 31's. We ran things over, did burnouts, yelled at people, illegal maneuvers everwhere, and offroading. I fell in love. Then, 2 years ago I went snowboarding with the same guy in his moms QX4 and i knew i had to have one. It is just so relaxed to sit in compared to my previous lowered civic on coilovers.
  9. I suggest getting it professionally steam cleaned... shouldn't be more than $30 for your entire interior, point out the trouble spots... high pressure steam will kill all your problems. Things like febreeze and carpet cleaners will only smell like sh!t covered chemicals.
  10. i say hyper extended front suspension with coilovers, suspension arms, and titanium extended CV axles, warn hubs, $1200 i saw a site with it for pathfinders but forgot what it was
  11. this is true. since selling my honda civic and buying an infiniti QX4, my love life has become incredible. i got some bomb poonanny last night while wearing some moccassins, all because i roll on leather
  12. I woudl take the QX4. come on, look at the leather, foglights, roof rack, running boards, spoiler, bose, rims. It is so much more luxurious than the pathfinder with the same abilities... dont forget timing belt before 110k. thats probably why the QX is so cheap.
  13. my 99.5 QX4 does it by key and remote. But the keyhole in my driver side door is busted so i am forced to use remote, unless i do passenger side which is retarded.
  14. for $150 you can either buy a good HU used off craigslist or such... but any HU that's $150 brand new, I wouldn't mess with compared to Bose. this is what you want for that price http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ele/120246275.html
  15. Technically, if all you do is remove the stock HU, sound ceases. As far as replacing with aftermarket.... sound quality depends on the unit you buy. AUdiovox, rampage, blaupunkt, clarion, sony, Pyle etc will all suck testes compared to Bose. Newer Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood can sound much better than Bose. Your speakers and amps will make a big difference too.
  16. Bose stock setup w/ 6 disc changer Alpine 1 channel amp JL audio 10W3
  17. the most i have ever pumped into my R50 with a VERY empty tank (barely running) was about 18 gallons! PS the R50 has a submerged fuel pump so it's better to keep the tank filled, keeps it cool
  18. oops i accidentally reported you post lol anyways theres a groove by the switch. flat head in there and POP
  19. you can get a VG33 tranny for $800 here in San Diego (mexican junkyards) guaranteed to run
  20. SO DO U HAVE ANY camber problems or strut popping problems? hows the handling?
  21. is the QX4 lug pattern 6 x 5.5 in bolt pattern?? 3.75 BS??? or 4" backspace? Thanks all
  22. Hey all, I have a question I have a 99 QX4, and need tires soon. I dont like the 16" chrome 3 spoke rims. I am thinking of something along the lines of 31"x10.50x15 on some 3.75" backspace USW rims, like DJDANK has on his pathy. These would stick out farther than stock setup right? Any brake clearance issues? DJDanks Pathy (same rim size i am thinking of getting) My QX4 Thanks in advance
