  1. I found driving a 2wd pick up truck for 7 winters really taught me how to drive in the snow... this is my first winter in the pathy, and it's awesome!!
  2. or 'fools seldom differ'... still, was good for a laugh!
  3. I, unfortunately voted 'don't' (YET) Mine's only been offroad once... We always take the hubby's X offroad (that and all the $$ has gone into his truck!) My stockasaurus rex will slow everyone down... my first offroad mod will be tires - hopefully by summer's end... edit: there ya go vengeful
  4. glad to hear youre ok.... I decided to launch myself into traffic a few months ago and had the front bumper & other pieces removed from my pathy... I had to get insurance to cover it... the damage I did to the Honda I hit was waaaaaaaaayyyy too much $$$. there is a site online - I forget what it's called where you can look up parts on a directory of wreckers...
  5. sorry to hear about your luck vengeful... some people have no respect
  6. I'd say go for sliders... or go without... makes my stock pathy look a bit taller... hehe
  7. lol... I did the same thing when the truck was new to me... I'm so used to a manual transmission...
  8. now someone correct me if I am straying the wrong way... Overtime, as your pads wear, there will be more fluid in the brake lines/system (as there is further for the brake to go), and hence your reservoir will not be as full...
  9. here is the info my dealer gave me... (I have a 99.5 also) for the front diff, we use Penzoil Gearplus GL-5 for limited slip diffs, 80W90 weight. You can use this in the front diff as well, or just use regular 80W90 gear oil. Rear takes 2.5 litres and the front takes about 2 litres or less. The transfer case used automatic transmission fluid (ATF), and takes,oh, 3 litres or so. A little more difficult to fill, but certainly not impossible.
  10. My hubby has the surco... works well I have a SportRack, was really cheap - but only avail in canada... sorry.
  11. radio controls: I dont know... I would assume so, only becuase older versions have it - but I dont know for sure. white faces: I cant say I remember what the faces on the '05 I drove looked like.
  12. Offroad Pkg: Standard Features • 6-spoke 16" Alloy Wheels • Enhanced 4x4 capabilities (Locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control (HDC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), high performance Bilstein Shocks and unique final drive gear ratio) • Fold-down passenger seat (plenty of room for long items) • Power windows, locks and mirrors From the website: Design an 05 Xterra No - the locker info wasnt on the Nissan news site - sorry... Actually - most of the dealers here havent seen the 05 Xterra either... we have a member who is working with Nissan Canada to do an article in the paper... we were pretty excited to be included. I think the milage is about the same as the current version... which is about the same as the pathy... I suppose time will tell for sure.
  13. Started using Firefox over IE a few months ago... I like the lack of popups, tabs and the extensions/toys!
  14. That's why I came here... those Xterra guys are picking on the pathy!
  15. Cant help you - but if someone can help - my 99.5 has gone wack. it has decided the off position is all the way across the window. or in the middle... really anywhere... i have to turn the wiper on & off a few times to get ot to go home. DONT YOU LIKE YOUR HOME (happy Gilmore) Also - hows your blade on the back? I cant seem to find one that sits nice and actually cleans the window.
  16. HI Runnerman, I see youve joined SOXC... if you snoop about you will see we have been lucky enough to get access to the 05 Xterra... we're not allowed to express any opinions on it until Jan 01... (as per Nissan Canada) but we have had it out for test drives on & offroad. They will have a rear locker... I cant remember if this is an option, or comes standard on the offroad edition. I believe you can find all the stats on http://www.nissannews.com/ we have pics of the '05 on the board, and on our personal site.
  17. ARB yes - $1200 USD...maybeif I won the lottery. and its heaaaaaaaaavy I hear... guy in our club has the 2" lift coils and the ARB, my stock truck sits higher than his...
  18. http://www.Nissan.ca/en/owning/vehiclecare/vmschedule.asp canadian site... im sure Nissan's u.s. site has something??
  19. hahhaa... this is a funny thread... my old truck would have had a nice list here... most of which were to me just quirks that made "puttputt" special... (things like no gas guage, fan only worked on certain settings, all sorts of rattles, squeaks and noises I couldn't hear anymore as my brain had turned them off ages ago...) finally the list got too big & it was time to retire my baby :sniff: My pathy now - just a rear wiper motor that is completetly wack. It works, but not quite right, it likes to stop in the middle of the window. This is a new problem, but im getting used to it - just have to switch it on & off a few times at the right time. I'm sure over time - they pathy will grow it's own interesting quirks/
  20. Thanks vengeful.... I think by the end next summer I'll be looking into new tires - something a bit more trail worthy - some AT's... I have plain ol stock tires now. I'm in no hurry for anything now (we've spent too much on the Xterra!) but I hope to be able to tag along with the X's in the future! There's a couple guys with lifted R50s in the club, one who has had the lift for a long time, the other brand new - but there is only so much info you can get from 2 guys.
  21. TJM doesnt make anything for the 99.5 plus cjs2000 - I like!!
  22. cant really see the defelctor on mine - but it's there...
  23. my bumper came off really easy when i nosed out into traffic & a honda civic took it off...!!
  24. well, I wouldnt do it - if I wasnt going to offroad it... I'm higher than your average car - so I'm happy on-road! Well - I know my truck's year is prone to strut problems anyway... so no loss there I suppose...
