Maybe you should remind the tool that trucks aren't supposed to go on their sides, and suggest some driving lessons.

I think that is the town one of my closest friends used to live in... Welcome to NPORA, and congrats on your new pathy!

That's a pretty good summary. I have a 99.5 pathy and love it... My ex used to have an X, and it was a great rig too. I think more than anything, it's your personal preference. Take a few of each out for a test drive.

woohoo 99.5!! Welcome to the board. I don't know about the grill guard... I assume it's not too difficult to install. That "skid plate" or splash guard is easy to remove... Just a few screws/bolts... (or drag it thru some rocks and mud like I did, and it will be toast! lol) it's plastic, so not heavy, or anything. You may want to reconsider the idea if you plan to take it off road much... it will lessen your clearance, and also, if you ever hit anything with it, there is a good chance it will do more harm than good. (I've seen the sides that come around the headlights, dent the fenders on either side)... They're not cheap, and if you do plan to get into offroading, you will want to look into a steel front bumper... our stock bumpers are way too pretty to drag over rocks!

Pretty much the center, as fueler guessed... right where the steering rack mounts... I had no idea I had done anything, but noticed the truck was pulling left hard while the steering wheel was pointing right. I can only guess I dropped the truck on a nice pointy rock right at that point, and it gave. Needless to say I ordered skidplates after replacing that bad boy... (imagine that plastic splash guard didnt save the day!!?!?) I've beaten the hell out of the truck since with no further issues. Looking forward to seeing the build trailboss... Mind if I ask what your estimated budget is for this project?
