true enough... My hubby has one on the X, and has hidden it in the roof basket behing the airdam... I dont have that luxury... His was under the hood, and was always pretty quiet... that and it got filled with mud offroad! Once we moved it to the basket we noticed a BIG improvement. It's a while before it warms up here and I'll have to worry about where to install mine.. so I have time to sit & comtemplate placement...

I got an external speaker for mine, only because the speaker on the CB base is hidden in the dash... I have it hidden around the side by my feet... I also have the speaker for the PA, not installed yet... no idea why really - just wanted to have fun yelling at people in traffic & at coffee meets!! hahaha!

yes, my rear window switch is in the same lever as the front wipers... and yes, I dont have anywhere to put any more switches... right now that isnt a problem - but one day... I guess I'll deal with that when the time comes. Maybe when I put my aftermarket stereo in, and need to fill the addl space with something... hmmm....

I have the uniden 520 I have it installed in the dash, beside the lighter socket where there are 4 slots for switches... seeing as I dont have any switches there, we popped out the blank spots and it fits perfect there... looks stock even...

Well. I gave it a whirl... window moves pretty good - although it wasnt that bad to start with... it was only starting to slow up.

actually - he trimmed it with the dremel (except it was dewalt brand)

I just turned on the back window defrost and voila!! Gorilla man... heavy breathing on the mirror maybe?

my hubby trimming the inside of the wheel well of a buddy's LIFTED pathy to fit 32's only had to trim plastic... and as you can tell - not much had to come off edit: added 'lifted'

so tonight on the way home from work: a test foggy mirrors... *thinks to self 'why not?'* *turn on defrost* *wait* (hold music here) WOW! I didnt know I had that! heated mirriors COOL! *adds to list of things the pathy has over the Xterra* hehe findmypath, thanks for asking what you thought was a stupid question!
