  1. Although I had a warning light - it was totally unrelated... was bad timing. the service engine soon light is for emissions related problems (in my case, the 02 sensor)
  2. The only problem we had fitting it - was the antenna mount tab, everything else bolted on easy! I do have pics of the install, I just need 40 mins of peace for myself to get them up on our site... I was lucky enough to pick up the bumper on ebay (or vengeful might say I stole it... hehe) for $400 US (plus shipping) which was an awesome price. 4x4 connection has them for Regular price: $1,074.95, Sale price: $884.68 right now, but its only the crazy (IMO) chrome one they have... As I said in the other thread, TJM has stopped producing this bumper, and I guess all the stores have left are the bling version... When we called TJM about some parts for it - they had said the have only had ONE enquiry about the bumper in the last year, so no wonder they ditched it.
  3. The 96+ pathy's dont have torsion bars. For lift, like C4S said, you need to upgrade the coils... there's some info on the lifts here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4686 also, do a search here, you'll probably find more info. Unfortunaly, the TJM is no longer in production, so you have to be lucky to find one... ARB Makes a bumper for the 99.5-2004, but it weighs a ton, and costs a few pretty pennies (hence I went with TJM)
  4. I leave it there, as it's easier to attach a bigger shackle to that one than the tow hook/loop/tab (what ever you call it) to yank me out when I am stuck... although since it's been on, I havent needed it! That day will come soon enough I am sure!
  5. I was having some issues with a few stalls, and running rough on and off... couple days ago felt like i was losing power on the highway. turned out to be the EFI relay.
  6. yeah, it covers about half of that hole... you should still be able to get to the lever, but it wont likely be fun... right now I dont mind, a winch is a LOOONNNNNGGG way off for me. and the cover for that hole was missing, so I dont mind it gone with the hole half covered. The bumper was more of a truck protection thing than a winch thing. The stock one is too nice to be rubbing up against rocks...
  7. of course.. I have a mountie standing outside mine to guard it.
  8. I dunno... why would I wanna modify my truck... it carries my groceries just fine as it is... *smirk*
  9. 99.5 Pathy, a half a year too young for the TJM T15 Bumper... One determined pathy owner, with a winning ebay listing (sorry vengeful) TJM said it wont work, Nissan dealer said it wouldnt work ok, then explain this pic: The only thing that caused trouble was the tab on the top bar for an antenna, it sticks in where the hood sticks out. Nuthin a grinder cant fix! Install pics to follow (thanks to XPLORx4 for your help)
  10. :o nice way to put it!
  11. I dont see why not, unless youre afriad it might get grabbed by a treebranch when offroad. Luckily on the X it comes with the airdam, but thats where my hubby hid his, face down to keep water/rain out...
  12. Before getting my lift, I also asked around and heard about the strain on the CV's... To be honest, I havent really had a look at the angles, and compared them to before... I suppose I will deal with that when the time comes... I wanted a lift so thats the price I may have to pay some day if they wear... besides getting less lift - I do believe getting manual hubs will help lessen wear... In general, I can't say anything bad about the kit... The truck rides a lot more like a truck now, not so cushy as it was stock, but it only took a week or two to get used to that. Mostly I noticed the bumps in the road more... and I have to take speed bumps a bit easier, and watch out for pot holes (what am I, in a lowrider or what?) as the struts tend to top out sometimes when I forget and hit them a bit too fast. I dont really have an accurate idea of how my fuel consumption has changed, before i got it - i was getting about 400km/tank. But now I get about the same - but the weather has warmed up a lot - I know I got a lot closer to 500km's last summer when the truck was stock. My tires are actually 31's (31.2 to be exact!) There are a few guys here with a lot more knowlege here... GET POSTING GUYS HELP US OUT!! haha.. I'm pretty new to all of this too!
  13. Well, first off, youre right - there is no such thing as a bodylift for our pathfinders... we have a unibody truck, as opposed to a seperate frame & body. as for the lift, I have 2" lift coils from AC, which are stiffer coils than the stock ones, so the truck sits higher... you also want to look at upgrading the shocks & struts to handle the lift... Do a search on here, and other boards, you will find lots of info... That's what I did before purchasing mine And WELCOME!
  14. I have heard that... although back in the day I was going out with a guy that had an '81 Firebird, with really wide back tires... people had warned us just the same, but no one really knew for sure... so we went down to the cop shop to ask, and they looked at us like huh, wtf? Although, it might be worth looking into again... times may have changed, or the cops I meet today might have a clue.
  15. my thoughts - I dont care for the look of the homemade snorkel. But hey, it's not my truck, it's yours - so go wild! No need to get all riled up about it all.
  16. I suppose which lift you get is entirely up to you, and we all have our own opinions... after researching here, and on other boards to see what other people have and suggest, I went with the 2" AC lift with bilstein shocks & KYB struts... I am very happy with the results - I've had it in just over a month. I do quite a bit of highway driving to & from work... I find I've slowed down a bit on the highways, and you can kiss any "fuel economy' you thought you had goodbye... (although, I also installed a roof basket at the same time, and I know that causes A LOT of drag) I've had it off road a couple times, been happy in the mud, on the snow, and on rocks... I'm not too sure about tires sizes - I'm sure others will chime in here... I was going to get the same tires you are looking at, but I got an awesome deal on the Bridgestone Duellers, that I wasnt about to pass up. I was able to fit 275/70R16 on the truck with the lift, but I also got the AR757 Wheels, so they wouldnt rub the strut... my install pics are here
  17. I'm not a fan of the homemade snorkel, but that looks pretty clean... nice job!
  18. I'm trying to make that same decision for my 99.5 I like the look without, and when I'm out playing in the mud I can get the truck right dirty, as my tires stick out... but on the otherhand, the tires also toss rocks up at the paint, and rocks are not as forgiving as mud to the paint job....
  19. I dont have any pics... but there's not much to see... I mounted it between the rad & the front grill... not sure if your pathy has the room in there like mine does... but I am pretty happy with it there. My hubby had his hidden in his roof rack on the X so it was really easy to hear, unlike mine which does lose some sound, as it's under the hood...
  20. If I was at work I could fill this page in about 15 minutes...
  21. Thats cuz theyre a TRUCK not a CAR anywho - I do appreciate being able to get info about my truck here...
