  1. You still wanna set it up...maybe june or july of 2010 or something...cause winter would be for hard core pathy owner only...I'm in if ya wanna set it up and stuff...It is a nice fun place to wheel and the trails arent all torn up from the big guys on 44s or any thing
  2. Yeah, July of 2007...Its a 2 hour ferry ride and you gotta resevations like 6 months in advance...you leave from Charlesvoix Mi... Its mostly two tracks and even the roads are minmal maintnace. We(A few buddie and me) took a 1998 Blazer and it was a little small for the trails(29 inch Wrangler a/ts) but it had a 4.3 v-6.Mostly sand but with a few muddy/swampy areas. We got stuck and this was how we got out. Place in 4hi,set cruise at 45mph and we got out and pushed...while the engine and wheels moving at 45mph...thank god we caught it. I was dumber then I am now but it was a great, great trip.
  3. Thank god somebody finally brought up the IFS lift issue...To much angle is a bad thing...
  4. I thought your front diff exploeded^^^^ My works good...but some times I gotta back for the light to turn off...or do a donut...or turn the wheels left'N'right. One time the 4 wheel decided to engage it self at about(one hub locked in)20 mph going do a steep hill...kept her on the road(about 2 inchs of glare ice) and got out gave the hub a kick(p-offed,scared that it mayhave broke it self...If I break stuff I'm ok about it...its my own fault...but when the truck does it of it own free will...gwrar..watch out man)Backed up/went a head and it up and disengaged...never happened again and the 4x still works...
  5. What size tire did you have stock? On a second note...If your not filling up at the same pump every time then you not getting a accurete reading since every pump shuts off at a diffrent level
  6. I have one laying around...someplace...I'm just to lazy to look for it...would of been easyer/faster then attacking the mud with a flathead screw drive and enginebright,brakecleaner...but I got some good fums...
  7. Not that much money...those cars go like hell with header,intake,four-barrel carb.. If you want one to really go,pull the head and port,back-cut the valves... 114 leaded also helps
  8. Well I took my wheel off and looked at it...the patchs arent going to work so I'm getting longer pieces sometime this week... Well I cleaned the rust out and I found thar I entire frame rail(wheel well back) was full of mud...I mean it was packed and with rust flakes in it it was a pain in the ass to clean out... The welder is a Dayton 85 amp, wire feed using flux cord wire. Welds very nice
  9. ^^^ some bodys lying... * runs before the V-tec gods get pissed *
  10. Well I got a big stack of what looks like1/8 inch stock but they look like my dad made them for speaker stands(sitting off or the work bench or something)but I dont know if I can use them(about 20 3/5 inch peaces...just the right size for patching the big holes(not welding to junk metal)Will probly start tommaro...I'll keep ya posted.
  11. Happy birth day guys
  12. Bad g-milage in my pathy,winter(9-15)summer19-21mpg...lets look at some other cars now... 1976 GMC K20,37 tsl,454,th400(4mpg,never changed in winter or summer...4 freaking mpg) 1991 chevy camaro,305,th700r4(worse I ever got was 20 when I first got my licence and flew around burning up my new Dougles touring tires, racing talons)Now average25-31 80mph is 25mpg 55-60 is 31. 1978 jeep J-10,301 ,three speed on the floor,(like I dont know the mpg but its NOT good,1/4-1/2 a tank in half hour of wheeling, and its not fast like the mud truck
  13. Thats what I thought but the guy that welded the p-side said he didnt have to move any thing cause the lines where one the other side...ohh well I'll look tomarro,
  14. Naw, its a fully electric wire feed welder,I was thinking about gas or a stick but this one was free...all it needed was a new tweeco tip so I got it for 6.25 for parts.I also mayget a stick welder from the same guy but I dont really want it now that I got the wire feed. I was thinking of welding some sheet metat together so it be used as a sheild
  15. Okie-dokey,so I had my p-side of my frame replace about a year and half ago...now I need to have the d-side done...well last time I didnt trust my welding skills so I sent it out to be repaired. Since then I've done a lot of welding at a friends house on body patchs, quertiers, rockers and floor pans on old cars and trucks,Plues I made a bitching winch mount outta 1/4 inch angle iron(receicer hitch mount style) so I'm now confindint in my welding abitlity so I'm doing it myself... So... Should I drop the tank to weld on this side(fuel and brake lines on this side) What thickness metal should I use(I was thinking 3/16 or 1/4) I'm going to use my free Dayton welder(got it from my dads buddie) Any other thoughts would be helpful
  16. ^^^^ Another Funk fan GFRR-Mark Says alright
  17. Howdy and welcome...what do you need to know?
  18. At first it looked like a idiot did it but after closer inspection...the mount is bolted to the cargo srea floor so its not as bad as just bolting it to the tailgate...maybe its time for me to make a 5th wheel pathy...
  19. X2 its all aboot the fun I love the Farm...the camaros just great(Fuzzy @#$'s hang from the mirror)
  20. I like Ac and there alot better then the chapions that were in it when I got it...the plugs where probly changed once in the trucks life time(other then by me)
  21. Also BP gas is 15 cent more for 87 then any other gas station around but after I cleaned the TBI I filled up with there 93 since I had a gift card Also I go back and forth between fram and K&N filters...when the ones dirty the frame gets shoved in so I can clean the K&N(takes a while to dry) We dont have Texxacos in MN so I Dont get gas there that often
  22. I change the oil every 25-3000 miles, the plugs are new AC-delcos and I put a new dizzy cap and roter on it about a month ago...the rear diff is changed every 10-15k since I usly play in water and mud or extremely silty sand. Manuel hubs susposly help mpg...so that was where I was going with that. Also I cleaned the tbi about a week ago Also the TBi is not leaking fuel so I dont see a reeason to rebuild it and when I cleaned it it look brand new in side,no build up or any thing
