    VG33B?

the listing can be seen here. I think it must be a typo. I could find no other info an a VG33 "B"
  3. a closer view (and a bump in my post count )
  4. Here's a pic of how the stock ones are assembled
  5. I checked mine. To remove them, you unscrew the balls from the hatch and they remain in the strut. However... with a 3-foot prybar and a 2x4, you can pull the old balls out of the socket. I just did that last night to see how they were assembled. Remove your old ones, hit the sockets with a little WD-40 and swirl them around to get all the gunk loose too. Throw the thing on the garage floor and put a board on the rod near the socket for support to stand on and hook the crowbar under the ball pry. It should pop off without too much sweat. Because the crowbar hooks on the nut side of the ball mechanism, it doesn't damage the ability to use it again. Alternatively, I may be willing to pull the other 3 and sell them to you.
  6. I replaced them on my 95 and still have the originals on my workbench (it's been a year or so but I might need them for something ). If you'd like, I'll take a look/pic at them tonight and post what I find.
  7. yet another reason to turn your chilton's manual into ash. I have always had bad results with those frellin' aftermarket repair manuals. 'Tis now why I insist on a full set of factory service manuals with any vehicle I buy new or try to get my hands on a set if I buy used.

    Transmission Bolts

ok... I'll retract my opinion... but I still think welding it would be a nice touch.

    Transmission Bolts

hmmm.... is the tap now holding the housing in place? If it's anything loke my 95, those bolts are pretty large diameter. I'm sure you will lose a bit of strength with one missing but I doubt it's enough to drop your tranny while driving down the road. Also, the 4-banger doesn't generate enough torque on the tranny to possibly bust out the 3 remaining bolts by power alone. It'd probably take some serious off-roading to flex things enough to worry. Perhaps getting in there with a welder and making your own attachments. If you need to pull it apart again, you'll just have to grind out the welds or, better yet, drop it off at the dealership to replace the clutch and see if you can hear them cussing all the way at your house.
  10. and he doesn't mean "wait until dark and post a lookout while you grab what you want"
  11. LOL and I'm sure those little teeth don't stop at the fabric. I had a cat for 18 years before she died. She loved to play 'scare the crap outta daddy'. She'd hide under my bed and when I got up in the morning, she'd grab my ankle, slip in a quick bite, and run like bejeebers. Other times, she'd be hiding and pounce out at me, then run. I got her good one day though. She was napping in one of those upright positions like only a cat can do and I snuck up behind her without being noticed. I flopped forward and slapped my arms on the ground on each side of her and barked at the same time. She launched about 3 feet up and 10 feet out... which became a problem since she was at the top of a flight of stairs when she did it. I must say, she did manage to land on her feet (at least initially) about 10 steps down. Then it got ugly as she tumbled her way to the bottom, trying to look like she was in control and meant to be looking like a rag-doll in a dryer. When she reached bottom, she whipped one of those "just wait until your asleep" looks at me.
  12. 4600 RPM w/ OD off, 3100 w/ OD on cruising at 90 (which was tough in rush hour traffic in the rain)
  13. no further explaination necessary... Bonsai Kitten    and yes, I really do believe that there are some sick frucks out there who would try something like this.
  14. I've got a 95 w/ AT and I usually cruise around 90 on the way to/from work. I'll check my RPMs.

    Dumb Mechanic?

I've heard them called cat-bats as well.
  16. in less than a month, we went from 1.70 to 2.15 then dropped to 2.06. I guess they ran it high so we'd all relax when it settled at only 36 cents above what it was before instead of 45 cents. BASTARDS!
  17. I can see it in your dogs eyes.... Can I get up now? This thing keeps grabbing my nose.
  18. clarification... real commercial, computer generated cat.
  19. I love the other sportka commercial with the pigeon but that wouldn't follow in this thread now, would it?
  20. I had a Honda that I had modified to deal with tailgaters. I bought some poly tubing (like you run to the ice maker on your fridge). It's fairly rigid so I didn't have to worry about it crushing. I ran it from my parking brake area, under the carpet and came up in the body panel near the rear left tail light. I modified the seal to permit a 1/4 inch tube end flush with the lense so it wouldn't be noticed and aimed it directly at the drivers windshield if he were about 10 feet or so away. I then took some very flexible tubing (so I could stow it away) and attached it to the rigid tube at the parking brake. Normal driving, the tube was tucked between the hump and the seat. It was the perfect size to fit a BB. I kept a small tin of them in my ashtray and if some a-hole was on my a$$, I'd pop a BB into the tube and give a good blow. *ping*. They'd back off quickly. A soft blow would just make noise but a good blast would make a star-crack in the windshield. In PA, that would fail inspection so there's a couple hundred dollars for them to replace the glass. The other thing I like to do is drain about 1/4 of my washer fluid spraying while a meathead in an open ragtop is on my tail. They get a tad wet.
  21. I paid 16k for mine... new.
  22. it's a toothed blet
