  1. So they do! How different are they from ours? Could they be made to fit? That would make it REALLY easy.
  2. Well...I noticed that the Frontiers already have this setup (indicators and markers in corner lamp/no bumper mounted indicators). I wonder if it would be possible to scavenge the guts from a Fronty and somehow make it work on my Pathfinder.
  3. His bumper is pretty sweet. But I was thinking of doing something more along the lines of Greg's. Something like this. Very simple, easy to make, easy to repair, easy to replicate if necessary. Simple but elegant, and not too "in-your-face," if you hear what I'm going for.... Here's a pic of Greg's bumper for those who don't know it
  4. Ok, My front bumper had a little meeting with a rock and a tree and a drunk driver, so needless to say, it's not in the best of shape. I'm going to be fabricating a custom one up in the near future, but in order to achieve my design, I'm going to have to eliminate the bumper mounted turn signals. This is where it get's difficult. I need my corner lamps to do double duty. They need to be able to run a dual filament bulb to run as the parking light/markers and the turn signal/indicators. Now, I know there are vehicles out there that use a dual filament setup to have the running lights and indicators in the same housing (like my dad's car, POS Buick ). What I am wondering, is have any of you modified your corner lamps to do double duty as turn signals, and eliminated the bumper lights? How did you do it? Any ideas? BTW: I just spent a half hour staring at the wiring diagram for the Pathy and it's making less and less sense, but that could just be that its 12:30 and I've been up since 5:30 this morning....darn being sick!!!
  5. I have 32x11.50x15 on my Pathfinder and I don't have any rubbing. Had to trim the plastic liners, and I lost my flares to a tree and embankment long before I installed the new tires. You will need new wheels with at least 4" of backspacing (remember, with backspacing, less is more). Otherwise the tire will interfere with the strut. With my tires, there is more sidewall flex than with the smaller ones, but that's to be expected. On slightly washboarded roads, it bounces lightly from the tires flexing, but other than that, there are no issues.
  6. I don't have a problem with it. I take off the tags whenever I wash the truck to get behind them though.
  7. Might wanna call first to be sure though.
  8. And how much is a "metric crapload" in English units?
  9. Dude...your truck is ridiculous! I love it!
  10. Arlington, VA when I'm home and Rochester (Crothfester as I like to call it), NY. Every day I miss the DC area more and more. I miss the road rage. I miss the Beltway (I can't believe I just said that). I miss the confusing roads in Arlington (only in Arlington will you find that 26th Street turns into 31st Street. ) I hate Rochester with every fiber of my body. I can't wait until I get to breathe my last breath of this city.
  11. The Freeway Blaster horns I got were a direct replacement for the teet horns. I just bolted them to the existing mounting brackets and honked away all my puny horn woes...hehe.
  12. I have the RS9000X and I love them. When it comes time for replacements I will undoubtedly get another set. The adjustability of them makes it worth the extra cost IMO.
  13. That has GOT to be the wife's...LOL... Currently in my player: Toby Keith - Greatest Hits 2 In the truck: Atreyu Kittie Avenged Sevenfold Brad Paisley Several AFI CDs And a few MP3 CDs that I forget what alls on them
  14. You can simply change out the wimpy TEET horns to a more powerful Freeway Blaster horn from FIAMM. Any auto parts store will carry them. I changed mine to the Freeway Blaster and have been very satisfied. BTW, it's the same kind of horn on the Blazers... Speaking of that...one of my horns burned out, so I'm going to go replace them now...haha.
  15. I tried them, they don't have anything that would work...unfortunately. I ended up finding one on eBay that just showed up. I had looked before and not seen it. $12.99!
  16. I was looking for one for a while, but gave up. I would find them on eBay every now and then, but they were always the wrong color. You could try eBay.
  17. So, some scumbag broke off my power antenna (it was stuck, that's why it was up), and now I need to replace it. None of the junkyards around here have any Pathfinders or parts for Pathfinders, and Dorschel (or I should say Whoreschel) won't order just the mast for me... They say I'll need to buy the whole assembly for $200, which is RETARDED!!! So, my question is, where, other than giving the stealer my left arm, can I get a replacement antenna mast?
  18. Pezzy, just add the word "Yet" to your post and all is good! I most certainly DO!
  19. Yup...stripped out the threads. Couldn't get the plug out... Wasn't leaking at all, but it still pissed me off!
  20. I'll second the "Dealership Techs Suck" motion. A while back I had one perform the 60k mile service on my truck, and they decided to tighten the oil pan drain plug with a freakin IMPACT WRENCH! The dealership was in Rochester, NY, and I was in Jacksonville, FL when I discovered that this had happened, so I couldn't just bring it to them to rectify the situation (I was 1400 miles away and already overdue for an oil change!!) I called them and spoke with the general manager of the dealership, and he said "Get it fixed, and we'll reimburse you for the costs." Ok, no problem. I go down to the Nissan dealership in J-Ville, and they quote me $1100 to replace the oil pan!!!!! Figured out that you have to completely disassemble the front end including dropping the diff to replace it....I was like...there is NO WAY I'm letting a dealership do all that! I got it fixed and came out $250 up on the dealership. They refunded me for the cost of the work, plus the 60k service and threw in 2 new front axles. I guess lighting a fire under their arse by calling the NYS Attorney General and DMV got them moving...
  21. Check www.4x4connection.com. I know they carry the TJM bumpers for the early R50s. There is no ARB available for a 97 Pathfinder. The ARB Sahara bar you're thinking of is specific to the newer body style, because of changes in contours. 4x4Connection has the T-17 for $379 on sale right now. And you can mount up to a 9000 lb winch to it. The difference between the T-17, and the discontinued T-15 is that the T-15 has the added bars that go around the grille and headlights and rubber or plastic bumper jobbies on the front. A guy in Tennessee has the T-17, and had bars made to make it look like a T-15 for about $200 less than what it would cost for a T-15. TJM is still producing the Aluminum T-15 for the R50s, but not the steel ones. Personally, I think the aluminum one's are hideous. There is also the T-13 in aluminum, but it's butt ugly. If I were you, I'd go for a T-17, and have bars bent and welded to it, and paint it. You can have all of this done for under $550 if you're creative, and for even less if you do the welding yourself. That's what I'm doing, but I just need to find a bender and a MIG welder....
  22. What do you mean by sway? If you mean increasing body roll, I have not noticed any real increase in body roll, but you have to remember that the COG is higher and you can't take curves as fast. If you mean, bobbing, then it shouldn't. If you have a problem with bobbing and weaving, then it's your control arm bushings.
  23. So, this afternoon I went out to my truck to go to Sam's Club to buy a Microwave cuz my $10 Goodwill microwave took a dump on me, and I notice that my fender looks a little funny....On closer inspection, I see a HUGE dent in the bumper, and it's all rippled up. Now it's pushed back about 2-3" and rubs the tire like a mofo. I can only imagine that some drunk bastard hit it Friday night, and left. I found a bunch of broken taillight/turn signal pieces around my truck, and gathered them up in case I find a car with a busted out tailight that I can match up the pieces with... Anyways, I took a few pictures, but they don't really do the damage justice, and the estimate was for $552.79, so there's really no point in going thru insurance since I have a $500 deductible, and it would raise my rates significantly. I guess I'm just going to trim back the plastic crap that's rubbing on the tire and start saving for a TJM... Then, my antenna broke, and wont retract or extend. On to the pics... They're big, so I'll just link to the parent directory and you can view them that way. http://www.niora4x4club.com/dan/drunk
  24. On my SE, the weheel size was stamped on the isnside of the wheel...."J7 x 15" Meaning 15x7"....yours should have some sort of marking too....if not, the XE wheels are 15x6....they reccomeent that you dont mount a tire more than 4" wirder than the weel, b/c they don't want to cause a protential hazardd.... im sorry for the horrible spelling and grammer, but i been doin a little drinky drinky tonight...so yeh....
  25. Light's come and gone twice since my last post. However, my gas mileage is back up to the 17-18mpg range  That's higher than it's been in a LONG time. Anyways...the power loss is still present, but not quite as bad, and the SES light is on again. I'm going to go to AAP tomorrow and get the code run. If its the same one, I'm going to go ahead and fix the O2 sensors. Bank 2 is the "right" side right?
