  1. Unlike your Jeep (just gonna bust on you here for a sec, I promise ), the Pathfinder can fit 31" tires without a lift on the stock wheels with virtually no rubbing. However, your buddy has the XE with the narrower wheels. If you upgrade to the USW Wheels, they're a lot cheaper than the AR ones, and you can get them with 3.75" BS. The 31s will fit with 4.75" BS (as a matter of fact I have an extra set laying around, still sealed in the boxes...), but if he decides to lift and wants to upgrade to 32s later, he'll have to buy new wheels. The BFGoodrich All-Terrain TA KOs worked great for me and didnt rub a bit on my stock wheels, but I have the SE and wider wheels and a different offset. If your buddy is interested in saving a little bit over Summit on the USW 84 Series rock crawler style wheels, in 15x8 with a 4.75" BS and the 6 on 5.5" bolt pattern (Stock fit for a Pathfinder), let me know. $30 each + shipping. I have 5 so he can get a matched spare too... Edit....I have the 3.75" BS on mine, and they do stick out a bit. The 4.75" is very close to stock spec and wont stick out much if at all. I also have a set of stock SE Pathfinder wheels with bald and pitted 31x10.50x15" BFG ATs if he wants to go that route, and that way you can test fit before commiting to the tires.... Where are you located?
  2. Yea, they're 11.5" wide...I'm running them on 15x8 (3.75"BS) US Wheel Series 84 Daytona rims. They rubBED on the fender liner at the front and the corner of the bumper, and the fender liner in the rear corner as well....a half an hour and 2 cuts in my hand later, no more rubbing... BTW...trimming your fenders and bumpers with a utility blade can be painful... -thnkboutit- Yeah, I saw a thing about the in car camera mount online and had to try it. I haven't put it to much use, but, it'll get there....once I find a place to go wheeling....
  3. I have a 40 series Flowmaster, and I found one with a dual outlet, single inlet, and turned it around. It works great! Sounds amazing and my built in butt-dyno definitely felt an increase in power and torque. I had piping from the cats back custom made to my specs. Cats to muff: 2.5". Muff out: 2.5" with 2.75" tip. I had the resonator/aftermuffler removed, and it burbles like a muscle car. I found the muffler on ebay for $48. Midas installed it and charged me $120 for parts and labor on custom making the pipes. So for under $175, I have a full cat-back exhaust built to my specs...The ebay listing was actually screwed up though, the seller listed it as a dual inlet, single out, but when it arrived, I noticed it was single in dual out...not a problem though, as I just turned it around. (Flowmaster says they're not reversible, but it works just great! I passed emissions this year better than I did before doing the exhaust, so....) I say go for it man.
  4. I discovered there is some pretty decent rubbing on the inner fender liner, but nothing major, and nothing that cant be fixed with a little bit of box cutter, BFH and silicone.... Thanks for the compliments, I like it!
  5. I just got my 32" Dunlop Mud rovers and US Wheel Series 84 wheels installed today and, man are they sick! Now I need to get it dirty.... More pics at bottom of page 2. Oh yeah, they fit great....I've had no problems with rubbing that cant be fixed very easily once it gets light again. I'll probably have to roll and pull my fenders a little, but thats easy enough.
  6. A blown catalytic converter could cause a pretty bad rattle from under the truck. My former roommates Hardbody rattles like a can of screws, and it's cuz his cat is blown out. Maybe using 91/93 blew out your cat....
  7. The sizzling could be the condensation from the A/C dripping onto your exhaust. Mine does it. Try running without A/C for a couple days and see if it still does it.
  8. Hey, I see on your website that it says you're sold out of the SuperSkid, and it should become available on Sept, 14. Are you still on schedule? I am still very interested in getting a set for my Pathy and will be looking to get it in the next week or so, before it gets too cold to install it here in Upstate, NY...hehe. Let me know if you think they'll still be available on the 14th, and I'll be ready to order in a couple days once a check clears.
  9. Do make sure the timing belt was changed. It should have been at 105K, but if it wasn't, that can cause some HUUUGGGEEEEE problems for you in the very near future.
  10. I have a 99 with the 3.3 (so, different motor, but yeah). I have the JWT Pop-Charger intake and it went it very easily. I have a custom Flowmaster exhaust. Used a delta-flow 40-series Flowmaster muffler I bought on eBay and had an exhaust shop fabricate pipes to my specs. Works very well, sounds incredible and I get a very noticible increase in performance.
  11. I have the same BFG A/Ts on my Pathy. When you get new tires, make sure the new ones aren't narrower than your OE tires. Otherwise you'll have handling issues. I live most of the year in Upstate, NY and the A/Ts have been a GODSEND in the winter. I can plow through 2+ feet of snow with no trouble in 4-hi. They're the best tires for the money for every condition except mud!
  12. They're still working, slowly, on prototyping it. They have the front done, and are still working in the rear. Lee speculates that they'll be done by the end of the month when the owner of the truck gets back in town... I hope he's right.

The speculated price is under $300 going from the going rate of other Nissan snorkels on A/C.

I've been researching this stuff for the past 3 nights...Hey, hey, before you go off on that I need a life nonsense, I just so happened to have installed a Trans Cooler, and replaced my brake pads/rotors and repacked my wheel bearings today, all while attempting to figure out how to work a snorkel into the fender without risking structural integrity. So Ok...3 posts in 25 minutes...maybe I do need a life.... :X
  16. APPARENTLY, the Nissan Xterra snorkel works on a ZJ with modified brackets...Interesting... Here's a link... Now, who wants to help me out in getting an Xterra snorkel?
  17. So, I took apart my drivers side today, and discovered that we would only have to cut a 3" hole in the fender skin. This, coupled with a nice 3" tube going thru the fender, will cause no, or negligible loss in structural rigidity. Heck, even losing the whole fender skin and driving around I didn't notice any difference. There is already a large intake related box and tube inside of the fenderwell, that can be used, or eliminated. There is a sensor attached to the tube, which will have to be transplanted, and is in a 7/8" hole (easy enough). We can then route a tube from the hole in the fender, behind the plastic protector stuff through the stock intake hole under where the airbox goes, and into the airbox. Now, just finding a snorkel that fits... I checked out a few older (92-95) 4Runners, and the intake is on the Drivers side...nice...I just need to get ahold of one for shape... If I could also get ahold of an Xterra snorkel for shape and size, it may be able to be heated and formed to fit the fender skin nicely....and we can always run a nice seal around the outside to close it up good, and look nice.... Anyone willing to contribute? I KNOW for a fact that there are R50 owners interested in a nice looking, up the A-Pillar snorkel, where are you guys?
  18. Hm...I guess the only thing holding manufacturers back is the possibility of compromising the structural integrity of the truck, since it is unibody and all....but I've seen snorkels on XJs....and SFAs, so why not us? I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm in the fender...

  20. I already know that nobody makes a snorkel specific to the R50s. Has anyone tried to fit an Xterra/Frontier or older Pathfinder/Hardbody snorkel? How about a 4Runner? I remember that a while ago on A/C someone posted about making a custom snorkel with drain pipe or the like, however, I want something clean looking. I like the snorkels that AC sells, but, naturally, there isn't one for the R50.... Any luck fitting another vehicles snorkel to ours? If not, does anyone want to sponsor me as a guinea pig? 11/11/2006 Edit: Yes...it's possible! See my lengthy post on Page 2 for details!
  21. I would imagine, since the Xterra is a body-on-frame design, that the step rails/nerf bars are NOT interchangable with the unibody Pathfinders... However, I have a set of factory R50 nerf bars that are just sitting collecting dust if you're interested. I'll let them go for $100 + shipping.
  22. Howdy, all. I may be new here, but I'm no n00b. :type: I've been on the AC board for well over a year. Had the Pathfinder since June of 2002, and have loved every minute of it! I've got the A/C suspension lift, Warn manual hubs, Quest 125A Alternator (going in this weekend, hopefully (as long as Charley doesn't stick around too long... )). 18" Trans Cooler, Cobra CB Radio, bumpin system, Laptop Connection . I'm hoping to fab up some sliders and a roof rack before I return to Rochester for school. I'm hoping to get some lights up there as well. A locker? Not yet, but hopefully in the spring. I also own a 1983 VW Rabbit GTI. Currently it is simply a rolling shell with almost every part sitting in my garage. I'm in the process of restoring it (repairing all the rust) and swapping in a 2.0L 16V motor out of a 1992 VW Jetta GLI. I'll be fabbing up a cage for it as well. It is going to be a LONG buildup, but it's worth it, because VWs rock! :cool2: Yes, my Pathfinder, too, has a bit of Fahrvergnegen! Anyways, a little bit about myself. I am a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering Technology student at RIT in Rochester, NY. Love the school, Love the program, hate the area... :oops: I "live" in Arlington, VA (right outside of DC), so there's nothing for wheeling near me at home, but there is a good bit in the Finger Lakes in NY. And if I go out to the Catskills, there is a good bit of land to play around on... Anyways, I'm boring y'all. I've been a member of NPORA for a while. In fact I'm member #103.
