  1. well, after talking to "88" i think we might start the ball rolling by comming together on a few design ideas as well as arrangements for the production and distribution. K9sar, that would be great if you could get an idea on pricing, and it should be pretty cometetive if you have a few near you. if anyone else has screeners in their area, feel free to volunteer and check prices out. im sure im like the rest of you...not made of money, and i want the best deal, but at the same time...the best quality that we can get. id like to make this as cheap, yet the best, that we can make it. when we got ours done, we used a 3 color setup. grey, black, and white. whenever you start using alot of colors, thats when the costs really start mounting. ok, design ideas. i agree that we need both generations (wd21 & R50) on the shirts..and i dont forsee that being an issue at all. we do need to rework the logo, and ill play around with ID and PS a bit to see what i cant come up with. shoot, even if you do the design in MS paint, or some other drawing. heck, if you cant do that and dont have a scanner or camera, draw it out on paper, mail it to me, and i can scan and host it for all to see. im trying to get this off the ground and help as much as possible, but by no means do i wanna hog all the design work. this is a club t and i believe everyone who is ordering one should be heard. i further agree that we need the pathy on the shirt to be doing something other than just sitting there. we need to find a middle ground here tho. we have both extremes...those who are bone stock, and those who are die-hard rock crawlers. we need to find a medium here that will suit both parties. but we need something agressive, afterall, "off road" is part of the club name lol. web address, definately! club such as "team NPORA" or something on the back...i dunno. i want all the help and imput guys. if nothing, just sit down and write all the ideas that come to you down and post em up. ill try and get some pics of other club t's that i have to give all of us ideas. in no way am i saying we need to pattern them off those that i have, but it will at least get the ideas flowing on what we do and dont like. as far as orders, please see the poll that jrvanas has already set up. id like to keep this thread for ideas and design discussion only. if we get this done, we will have another thread set up for orders. oh, and "88", if you wouldent mind, could you please sticky this sir? thank you!
  2. thanks to everyone, i just went to autozone and bought a turbo muffler. at this point i just need something cheap. when i have money some time, ill get everything i want done, but for now, i gotta pass inspection lol
  3. yesssir the 55W "baja" lights for up top. their pretty bright, and do their job well. i just cant justify (nor can i afford) a set of hellas or kc's. the way i look at it. things will eventually get broken, ripped off, lost, stolen, etc. and if i had an expensive set of lights...well id be crying when they went/died...walmart lights...go out and just buy another set to replace them lol. when i get around to mounting more lights, i think i will stick to this style, i particuraly like the hard covers they come with. on the fogs, those are from wally world as well, and are 55W, but a different "style" they dont have the covers, rock guards (thin strips of plastic lol), and the lenses are set up slightly different. they are marketed as "fog" lights. i put them on to replace the stockers that my brother tore off being an idiot.
  4. yeah, iv almost thought about going to oreileys and picking up a turbo muffler. my friend bought one for 16 bux. its a little quieter than i like...but i guess it will do. they also have some pretty cheap glass packs, but by no means do i want the car to become obnoxious, so ill just go with a muffler i guess. he said it would be 50 bux for the tailpipe and installation if i brought in my own muffler. i would end up doing the muffler install myself..but under texas law i must have a functioning exhaust pipe exiting the body either from the back or side of the car. so that means no dumping. and my tail pipe is shot ...and like i said...thats 35 bux, so might as well pay someone to weld everything in right. thanks for the help guys!
  5. well, i found a good shop with cheap prices to get my exhaust done...well my muffler and tailpipe anyways. my stock muffler is shot as well as my tail pipe, and both are in need of repair before i get her inspected next month. i wanted something pretty cheap, yet sounded good and had some gains in power. so its basically come down to this. he has some generic turbo mufflers for 40-45...or glasspacks for the same price...with 35 for the tailpipe. he said the glasspacks would give the tone a lower/throatier sound then if i went with a simple muffler. so which is my best choice? anyone have glasspacks on their Pathfinder or ever heard one with em? v6's are kinda hard to make sound good when it comes to aftermarket stuff. i dont want some ricey buzz buzz, and i dont want it abnoxiously loud...and iv seen alot of modded v6's that fall into these catagories. i had a buddy with a chevy v6 and a single glass pack...and it sounded like total A$$. im really liking my holey muffler for the sound...but the state wont go for that. let me know what you think!
  6. i got sick of looking for them and did the next best thing. drill, meet luggage rack bar. thats right, i took one of the factory luggage rack tie downs (who uses those anyways?) and drilled 4 holes it in. secured everything down, ran the wiring...works like a charm. thats basically what the OEM light bar looks like to me anyways, just a modified roof rail. see sig for details, or i can get better pics if needed
  7. schweet, see sig for my 6 wal mart lights...will be 10 when i get 2 more on a push bar and 2 more for the back
  8. ha, thats exactly what i have on my pathy. cept im gonna have to fab up a peice of sheet metal or something. you see...the opening of the MAF sensor body is slightly larger than the mounting plate is wide. so you have about a hairs width of leakage there. i need to cover that up...no use in sucking in nasty air. but other than that...it does great. just minor drilling and fitting. and paired with an open ended filter element...holy ish batman. the car just sounds plain mean when i bury my foot in the gas
  9. but you are getting power all the way to the bulb harness for sure correct?
  10. my mom's 98 R50 has an OEM swing away. i dunno how much it was extra, but it was an option, not something that came stock as you all know
  11. i appolagize, i now see that someone answered it in the general forums. mods please delete. rack one up for the knoob
  12. well, my muffler is all but shot, and i dont want some midas job...so i decided to go with a dynomax muffler to add a bit more sound and whatnot. anywho, i was at my local rice-zone looking at mufflers, but i dont know what size i need. i want a muffler with an inlet that will either fit inside the muffler inlet pipe, or fit over it. what size muffler inlet do i need? its a stock 91 SE with the VG30. they had some 2" i think and some 2 1/4" and a few others. im not worried about the exit diamater, cuz im just putting a turn down and leaving it. i ran across alot of discussion on custom exhaust and performance mufflers, but never what size i needed. TIA! :type:
  13. well, looks like im gonna have to hit up the Nissan house to get a new stud. i cant find them at any auto parts stores...none are the right size and their either all for hondas or chevy's. which brings me to my next conclusion (off topic). honda is the chevolet of japan. think about it...you go into the auto parts store they have tons and tons of stuff for hondas, and chevy's....and only 1-2 things for other car makes. grrr <end rant>
  14. i run a pioneer in the DSM and a jensen in the pathy. when we bought it...my parents didnt have many CD's and opted NOT to get the factory CD player. i dont have anything high end in it cuz i dont use the pathy much and 2, i had it laying around
  15. well, after doing much reading on here (place is great and very helpfull BTW :cool2: ) i learned about the exhaust mani studs sometimes snapping off. well, i noticed a rattle and took off my heatshield. sure enough the very last stud on teh pass side had snapped its nut off and had about 1/4" of stud sticking out of the flange. about 2 hours later manned with vice grips i ended up backing the entire stud out sucessfully. now..here is my dilemma should i 1. go to auto parts store and get replacement stud and nut...torque it all back down while keeping the stock mani or 2. wait...get headers and replace all studs at once? the reason i ask is i dont know how badly my flanges are warped...and i dont want the stud to break off INSIDE the head this time. or am i pretty safe now that it is warped...so it shouldent do much moving. my pathy rarely gets driven...so its not a big big issue. i plan on headers eventually...but financially this is not the time to do it. so do i bite the bullet and replace everything.....or just replace the stud? TIA!
  16. thanks for the warm welcome guys. its been a tremendously busy weekend. i got the dash lights working again (brothers fault) and got rid of his junk radio. gave the whole thing a thorough cleaning, changed oil (those filters are a B*TCH to get at!) modified a roof rail into a light rack, installed CB radio with firestik antenna...lots and lots of stuff. pics to come soon. iv gotten a TON of good info and ideas here and i havent been around that long. cant wait to hit the trail soon!
  17. well, i am now the proud OWNER of a 91 SE 4x4 Pathfinder. my parents bought it brand new in 91 and bought a new one in 98. the 91 became my first car for 2 years untill i raked enough money to buy me a mitsubishi eclipse. the pathy once again sat in the barn untill my little brother was old enough to drive. he put that thing through utter hell...messed up a few things, mostly electrical. after he bought another car...again it sat untill now. im about to graduate college and realized i HAD to have a 4x4 to visit our cabin in CO...plus i wanted something to take jeep-trailing. when we first got it..we did a few nasty trails fairly easily...so i knew id have a good platform to go off of. last week i talked to my pops and bought the car from him. since then iv been here learning, looking for mods, and fixing her up as best i can. its got 225K+ mi on her...and showing some signs that a new engine will be in order soon. one good thing i did get out of my brother is he had installed a new clutch and new big tires on it just before he stopped driving it..horray for me! so far iv learned quite a lot on this forum...and plan to stay here a long time. now i just need to get my sticker!
