  1. It's just an opinion. I'm not here to knock anyone; I am here to express my opinion as this is essentially the purpose of a forum.
  2. I challenge you to a duel. Pistols at dawn! I can only afford the water-shooting type though...
  3. Fuel efficiency aside, you're right. And props to you for not being oblivious to it because Koren cars just bite. Kia and Hyundai would do us all a favour and just stop making vehicles altogether. No disrespect to Koreans but leave the Asian automaking to those who do it best and have done it best for over 100 years
  4. Agreed! Maybe the makers of Dirt will stumble across this thread and that'll get the ball rolling. Or a petition!! Hehe
  5. Oh, you cold as ice K9! But who says we wanna go? And you're damn right we're hooligans!
  6. LOL, I couldn't agree with you more Petrus! The only argument would be the pimps... They only drive Escalades or Yukon Denali XLs... And yeah, posers don't just hide behind 24's. There are guys everywhere who jack up a pick-up but never take it off the pavement. That is the epitome of a poser. You're 10,000% right though. Blades and low-profile rubbers on a 4x4 is about as functional as putting dirtbike tires on a crotch rocket.
  7. Thanks Precise! Guaranteed someone out there would take offense to my remark, but meh... Truth be told!
  8. As a Canuck I resent those remarks... :tonguefinger: I agree with you completely that more should be done to take advantage of methane gases being released by landfills and dumps. Apparently, methane gas comes from renewable, natural sources too, which means it would be environmentally friendly much more than fossil fuels. Sadly, human civilization has come to rely on fossil fuel so getting away from it is going to take tiny steps... Anyhoo, good for Obama winning the election. Guess time will tell how his being president will change politics in the US and abroad. Our douche-nozzle prime minister is already sucking up to Obama despite being quite clear a Democrat in the White House won't benefit Canada... I guess that's what happens when Stephen Harper's used to takin' Bush in the bum. I won't get into my whole take on Canadian politics; it's such joke. In all honesty, politics the world over is just a gong show.
  9. LOL, that would be pretty rough if that were the case. Actually, the layout on my desktop at work only makes half of the typing space visible and I just got lazy and chose not to scroll... Hitting Enter was just an easy way out. However, I have figured out how to fix it so now I'm able to see the whole area. Sorry for being a lazy douche
  10. As a matter of fact, Dirt is probably the latest entry which really only skims the surface of the 4x4 truck category. It's predominantly a rally car game; there are, however, a few trucks available in the Rally Raid category, and only one from Nissan: the Frontier. Dirt is easily the pinnacle in terms of games in the off-road category and it is a pure blast to play; it does leave me wanting way more. There is no actual modification/customization in terms of parts and upgrades; the tuning is pretty in-depth which is good. But I'm talking a game where you can choose from dozens of real-life 4x4 rigs and modify and tune them for numerous off-road events, where speed isn't always the way to win (Need for Speed ain't my cup o' tea) and some actual vehicle knowledge makes the difference. I'm wondering if CodeMasters (the makers of Dirt and Grid) have thought about this because their two latest racing entries are excellent games. It would be pretty sweet to immortalize my R50 by being able to use it in a video game. It be equally sweet to mod a Patrol... they aren't available in Canada.
  11. What's up everyone? Being a NPORA member these last few months, I've come to feel part of a really unique and exciting phenomenon in regards to Nissan fans and 4x4 enthusiasts. To some degree or another, each of us adore the Pathfinder (therefore Nissan) as well as other Nissan vehicles, and we all enjoy making the most of our experience wheelin' in our rigs. I've had my R50 since April of this year, and in that time I've come to love it in just about every way, modifying it to suit my interests and my day-to-day needs (the former easily takes precdence however). Owning a Nissan for the first time has also peaked my interest in Nissan vehicles, especially the trucks. In all honesty, I've been a die-hard Nissan fan since I was a no-good adolescent: with the launch of the Gran Turismo series back in '98 (same year as my Pathy!), I fell into a deep obsession with Nissan's JDM line-up, specifically the Skyline GT-R and Silvia... Back then, nothing was cooler than getting 930+ horses out of a R33 GT-R V-Spec and rippin' it on Special Stage R11. Ahhh, memories... But I digress... the reason I'm bringing up GT is for the sole fact as to how much of an impact it had on car enthusiasm. Take a look at GT5 Prologue now and it's practically real life. Serious R&D which, for over a decade, actually helped design Japan's latest (and second in production terms) supercar: the beastly GT-R. That makes me wonder: if a 4x4 game of this calibre existed, would there be a similar result? Would we see a production Pathfinder capable of handling serious off-road duties but still function as a day-to-day city driver? Or a 'supertruck' in the form of a Nissan Titan? Considering the benefits of CAD (computer-assisted design), wouldn't it be just as beneficial to have a off-roading simulation game? Imagine a Gran Turismo 4x4 edition... The speed and excitement of mud racing, the technique and meticulousness of rock-crawling and hill-climbing, the endurance and calculation of rally expeditions... It's seriously mind-boggling such a game has not yet been made. I can't afford to own all the toys I want (the list is stupid long) and having a game like GT has at least allowed for some idea how it feels to drive a GT-R... The same would be cool for a jacked-up Titan rollin' on 40" mudders and tearing sh*t up. Anyhoo, forgive me for the lengthy post... Just wondering if anyone else has ever thought of this. It would be boss for this dream to become a reality.
  12. LOL sorry... just became a natural reflex texting... In that regard I'm a bit OCD.
  13. So they won't ship here as it is HAZMAT. Fair enough reason, I suppose. That still blows goats because no one in Canada carries it. So if you could ship it for me that would be stellar
  14. Ordered the Rock Crawler Series 51 in a 16x8" with 5" backspacing.
  15. Whooooo, those Bushwacker flares are slick. More than a few sweet options as well And yes, OEM flares are hard to find... NAPA can get them but they aren't cheap.
  16. 1/8 steel is pretty thick, and is stupid heavy. That being said, it would be great for serious armour but I think that gauge is pretty much overkill. 4x4parts.com sells skids made of 3/16 steel but I have yet to hear any freeback on them. I've got 10 gauge for my skid plate and it has proven itself both in strength and weight time and again (Black Panther is excellent). A diff cover, as far as I've been told, is virtually useless but it's totally your choice to go with one or not. Again, 4x4parts.com has an entire set available so take a look at theirs and see what you can blueprint. Best of luck with your armour project!
  17. I'll chime in R50's are tha bomb
  18. Thanks! I'm hoping for some kick-ass results myself. I'm thinking I'll need at least 3 gallons to do 2 layers on the body. I am going to double-check with Durabak once I finalize everything just to be sure. It won't be until late spring 2009 but I can't wait!
  19. Not to push my way into this thread or anything but I've got KYB GR-2 struts on my '98 and they are wicked both on and off the road. I've yet to experience the Rancho RSX struts but have heard they leave a lot to be desired when compared to the KYB's...
  20. Thanks for the info ya'll! Always love the uber wicked support on this forum. It is second to none Now that I know the centre bore is 4" I was able to contact an offroad shop here and confirm the appropriate wheel. Both models fit the bill so now the only choice is which one to go with...? The wheels in my head keep turning...
  21. Sweet, good experimentation That's always a key element when trying out new stuff I've got several buddies here who've done this paint app to their rigs and it's been nothing but positive feedback. They go wheeling every weekend and their paint remains unchanged. And that's really saying something where rust is a nasty reality for a good part of the year. I'm going to contact Durabak again and plead with them to ship me the goods. I haven't been able to find the stuff locally anywhere, even for it to be shipped...
  22. What up ya'll?! Ordered new CV axles for my '98 (went with the beefed up AC set from 4x4parts.com) and my mechanic suggested going with Warn Premium Locking Hubs to get the most out of the CV axles and supposedly improve fuel effeciency (?). So I went and ordered the Warn hubs but I failed to realize whehter or not they will fit my current wheels (Helo Maxx 8). I figured with snow on the way these Helo's are take a beating so I'm contemplating some steelies for the winter. Seeing how I've got hubs on the way, I'm not sure which wheels allow for them... Rock Crawler Series 51 or American Racing 767? If anyone can offer some advice that would be sweet BTW, the beefier AC CV axles are great
  23. Yup, rear diff cover is useless... About the AC skid plates, there isn't much info on the site... Best to just ask them
