  1. Anyone have a recommendation for a battery for an '03 Pathfinder battery? I'm in Canada so looking for something that will work well with the cold. I've heard the Optima red tops are good but they don't fit the 03 model year. Suggestions? Looking to not spend a fortune here. Please note that the '03/'04 has a different battery than previous year R50s.
  2. I know this has been asked before (by me) but no good responses yet. I put new tires on my '03 Chilkoot and they stick out about 2". I'd like to put on extended fender flares and an extension on my mud flaps. Anybody done this and have pictures? Any ideas? Only thing I've seen out there is Pacer Flexy Flares.
  3. Actually just some shots of the Manual hubs and the life kit would be great. I've got a bigger offset on the current rims so not sure if I'll need the spacers. Also wouldn't mind seeing a profile shot of your rig to see the height difference.
  4. Do you have any pictures of your setup that you can post, that's the exact setup I'm looking to do so any details or problems you've faced would be great to know.
  5. That is bad news, I planned to put on an OME lift, but I have the Auto 4x4 knob on my '03 Chilkoot. Has anyone had experience with the OME lift without the Manual Hubs? I definitely could use another 2 inches clearance on the Pathy so would like to find a way to lift without damaging the CVs.
  6. I've also come across these Pacer Universal flares, not sure if anyone out there has tried them or seen them. I'd be looking to do the surface mount extensions if I were to purchase:
  7. Oops sorry, I did mean R50. Yeah I've seen the Street Style Bushwackers but definately not enough coverage for how far my tires stick out (I'm also going to have to heat gun the front fenders slightly to account for some rub). I'm aiming mainly for function here, however I don't want to kill the form. Preferable would be 1.5"-2" wide with a wall height of 2"-3". I'll check AC, though things aren't looking very hopeful.
  8. So after putting the new wheels and tires on my '03 Chilkoot they're sticking out almost 2" past the wheel well. I've looked through several forums now and can't find a fender flare anywhere that would fit an R51 Pathfinder or QX4. Anyone find them? Black or silver will work. Thanks in advance.
  9. Sorry for the delayed response, here's the pic of the bumper guard and the Chilkoot with the new wheels and tires. OME next. As for what's it's made of, the one I have is steel with powdercoat gloss black.
  10. Why you all gotta rain on my parade so quick?! All very valid points, I might have a solution for it though, I'm going to get longer bolts and remount the bumper bar under the tow hooks (bolt though both), will likely require some creative thinking for the upper mounts, but I'm sure I can have my cake and eat it too. As for the winch, I'm going to check into the stress this bar can take (likely not enough), though to be honest, I'll probably avoid getting one all together as I won't be doing enough offroading where I'll ever need one. If I do, I'll likely just get a hitch mount winch instead, or a simple one for small amounts of pull. I mainly use the offroading for hauling the dirtbikes in the mountains, so don't get into too crazy situations anyways. I should have pictures up shortly of the current setup (new tires and wheels coming next week and the bastard's real dirty), and will post more on the solution. Also doing the throttle body bypass, will post on if I notice any HP or MPG difference.
  11. Just finished installing the black version of a bumper guard being sold by this guy on eBay. Took me 45 min to install with no drilling (have to permanently remove the front lower tow hooks to place on the guard). He has it listed as a 1999.5 only but it obviously fits through 2004 as it fit on my '03 Chilkoot. I got mine for $10 plus shipping because nobody else bid, but even at the full purchase price of $60 it's a great deal. Now I have to decide which winch to mount. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Smittybilt-99-Nissan-Pa...1QQcmdZViewItem
  12. Hey all, I'm looking at buying a tire/rim package from these guys and have them shipped to Canada. Has anyone specifically dealt with or heard any reviews of this dealer? I've heard all the goods about Tirerack etc. but these guys have the specific rim and tire package for a great price. Gonna get 17" Black Goliath 223/224 with Yokohama Geolander A/Ts (265/65/17). Thanks in advance.
  13. I've heard that in cold conditions, this can cause throttle sticking. If ice forms on the throttle plate, is there a possiblity of it not closing properly? Guess I'm asking if you've tested this through a cold Winter.
  14. Hey all, new as well and have a similar situation. I use my 2003 Pathfinder Chilkoot mainly as an in town vehicle here in Calgary, and to tow dirtbikes on my trailer, but I am often in the mountains for camping/snowboarding, though not for full offroading as the main objective (that's what the dirtbike's for). I'm thinking of getting 30.6" x 10.4" Yoko Geolander AT/s tires on 17" MKW M28 wheels. I then want to follow up with a 2" lift at a later point (I read earlier in this post that this size tire will fit stock, hope I'm not missing anything). Should I be concerned at all about doing this lift after doing the tires and wheels? When I do I'm thinking of going with the OME lift found at this link. Got 100,000 km so I assume I should do the front struts, coils, and manual hubs. Anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance.
  15. Came across this site in a search to upgrade my '03 Pathy. Looking to start with a small lift (1-2"), new tires (thinking 31" x 10.5" Yokohama Geolander AT/s) and wheels (17" MKW M28). Currently using my truck to tow my real offroad toy (2000 RM125, gotta love the 2-stroke).
