  1. Is the cruise control on the R50 controlled by a cam?
  2. An idle controller would be a kick ass modification.
  3. That is true. I was lucky enough to meet the owner/producer of BP (he lives about 20 minutes from Winnipeg) and scoop up a front skit. It's a bad-ass 10 gauge steel skid plate which I had powdercoated. I've punished the bastage on several occasions and it still looks practically new. BP may have some extra skid plates from a previous batch but I would have to ask him and see.
  4. Why not just get a AFC unit, from Apex or HKS instead? Or go full stand-alone? You'll be spending probably close to the same amount for an OEM ECU and with an aftermarket unit you can tweak the figures, too.
  5. Sweet!! I'm planning on installing 33x12.5 tires when the SFD kit gets here, and mount them on a 15x10 wheel with 4" BS.
  6. Another SFD in the works, it looks like. Werd!!
  7. 2.5" BS and your wheels are gonna stick out quite a lot. If that's the look you're wanting, go for it. 3.75" BS seems to be pretty much the norm. That's what I have, and they stick out about an inch or so past the lip. I've got the OEM flares and my tires sit pretty much flush with the edge of the flare. Let us know what you decide on doing, and by all means post pics!
  8. Sweet! My guess is a 160amp will more than the get the job done for 90% of us. I'll definitely scoop up one of these when my bank account is replenished.
  9. Coilovers on a WD21 would be awesome! Now that's the best idea I've heard all day.
  10. That is sick! Nice work. Please let us know a price should you start selling them.
  11. Options for all three engines would be ideal, IMO.
  12. Definitely interested. Pics would sell me for sure.
  13. A steel bumper (ARB, TJM, etc.) should be good for lifting up front with the Hi-Lift; the same should apply for the rear if an aftermarket steel bumper. Sliders offer good stability for the sides so I'd be more inclined to rely on those primarily.
  14. We've explored that option already. Spending more than $20 on this project is out of the question... Thanks, Dave! There are quite a few different ways. Let the experimentation begin!
  15. Cool. You're planning on powdercoating/painting those? Are you just running these 3" spacers with the OEM coils? What about in the rear?
  16. Thanks for the info. I checked them before installation (NGK Iridium IX plugs w/ NGK wire set) and everything was as it should be (even though they were brand new plugs it's still just proper diligence to check). I'll let them be until I change 'em.
  17. Thanks, B! My VG33E runs wonderfully at the moment so I'll leave those spark plugs alone.
  18. Sorry to thread-jack but how often should spark plugs be checked? I replaced my plugs and wires back in February and have only put on maybe 4,000km since then.
  19. It isn't for me. A friend with a '97 SE wants to lose the chrome grill but would rather not spend the obscene amount to replace it new. I've got the matte black grill but it would be good to know if that chrome film could be removed without much trouble.
  20. Mine is all black, came like that from the factory. I'm just curious if that crappy chrome film on the LE model's grill can be easily removed.
  21. I'm wondering if it's possible to remove the faux chrome finish on the plastic front grill. I'm guessing it's just a cheap chrome film finish and could probably be removed using a very fine sand paper. I prefer the matte black plastic finish and am curious if anyone's ever attempted removing the junky chrome.
  22. I've heard this new Castrol Edge is supposed to be quite impressive. I may give it a shot on my next oil change.
  23. Haha, yeah. He sent me pics of those... Hilarious. He really took that R50 to the limit.
