  1. Fantastic post! Could a mod please pin this topic?
  2. Apparently aftermarket. I compared and the axle itself in between both boots is definitely thicker than the OEM one. I've had them since October '08 and they're still going strong. Also, a good way to extend the life and durability of the CV boots is to apply silicone spray.
  3. I messaged Tyler the other day so hopefully he'll post some developments on here soon.
  4. With the AC coils, you can stick with OEM-length shocks. I've heard good things about the OME shocks paired up with the lift coils so you should be good to go. Welcome to the forum!
  5. The D22 Frontier uses the same diff housing as the R50 so I'd be hard-pressed to figure out why it wouldn't work... In any event, for $40 it'd be worth finding out. A coil compressor and 18V impact gun make the work a breeze.
  6. No but if I do this it'll be sometime in April/May using my Haynes manual. I have a friend who is a certified Nissan mechanic so I'll put this by him to see if it's feasible. I don't see why not but you never know... I noticed you plan on running a steel bumper up front. I did that and since then, my front coils have sagged considerably. I wonder if a higher spring rate custom coils would be a good idea...?
  7. It's really just a matter of knowing if these will work on a R50 R200A front differential... https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5277 For ~$40 I am willing to just buy these and give it a shot...
  8. I'd like a similar spring rate to the OME HD coils, which I believe is the same as AC, ~160lbs. However, the OME HD coils are about 1.75". That being said, with a 4" SFD and 5.5" coils in the rear, I'd need 1.5" coils to level up the front. I considered going with 4" SFD and ~2" coils but a 6" total lift gets a little excessive when it comes to other mods, i.e. driveshaft, links, panhard, etc.; not to mention the added stress on the CV axles at these angles. I have been tinkering with the thought of a front diff drop bracket... But we'll see...
  9. Sweetness. Do post pics when you throw 'em on!
  10. Yup, I recommend the same advice. Moog makes good links, which are also greaseable (unlike the OEM parts). If it's the steering rack, could it possibly be deteriorated rack bushings? Just a thought...
  11. This is some great news! I'm definitely going to contact these guys and get some custom coils made. I wonder if they'd also make front coils...?
  12. Should be good to go. 3.75-4" BS is ideal for the R50 so I don't see there being any issues.
  13. Right you are, but I'm going with 4" SFD and would like to get 1.5" coils for a total of 5.5" lift. Less stress on the CV axles that way. If I could get custom coils for 5.5" of lift, 33x12.5 tires would fit those wells just right. The OME coils are great but I'd like to minimize the angle put on the CV axles, especially if I wanna make more use of 4HI and 4LO.
  14. Have you got a link or e-mail address? I think I may look into this for getting some custom front and rear coils made. Thanks!
  15. X5. KYB GR-2 struts FTW. Best option without a question.
  16. The variations between the early model ('96-'99) and late model ('00-'04) are numerous despite being subtle to most. My Haynes manual, for example, covers the '96-'01 R50 Pathfinder models. Depending on what year R50 it is, there are small differences one wouldn't see without looking at the vehicle quite meticulously. For example, the '99 R50 uses a different charcoal EVAP system than the earlier models, and it is apparently more problematic despite being newer. From '00 on, the rear shock mounts were changed from what was used on the '96-'99 models. Another is the engine variation between the '96-'00 models (VG33E) and the '01-'04 models (VQ35DE). I guess it isn't as clear cut as to say one model year vs. another is compatible or incompatible; there are several factors to consider, making for more grey areas than anything.
  17. Awesome. What's it like on the road? Any noise/clicking? I should learn to read more thoroughly...
  18. Pretty rad. Too bad I'll never own an iPhone.
  19. Depends on the Jeep application, no? XJ, ZJ, YJ, etc...
  20. I'm guessing diameter, too. That way it'll be easier to know if aftermarket Jeep coils fit into the OEM coil seats.
