  1. It's actually that horn looking thing, right under the brake fluid container. I didn't see any cut wires on mine. Still refuses to go off though...
  2. Thanks. The Closed Doors did the trick. It recognizes the remote, but now I can't seem to get the alarm to go off. Each time I turn the key I have to switch the alarm from off to on in order for it to recognize the remote again. So tried leaving it running for 5 min, turning it off, pretending to get out, and have someone outside lock it with the remote from outside. The LED stayed on for a moment then did its slow flash (armed I guess). Waited a few min and unlocked it from within and got nothing more than the Tampered warning (LED stays lit and constant beeps). From what I can tell the main siren is hooked up. It doesn't chirp though, only beeps from the main unit under the seat when a button it pressed. Also there is no panic, that button as well as the trunk button all lock and unlock the same as the lock button . Any ideas?
  3. was searching the programming key fobs and came accross this post. I have the same problem as listed above but this question was never answered. I get all the confirmation beeps but it's not unlocking or locking. Any help would be great. All fuses are working great as I checked out the alarm box under the driver's seat. Even the siren is hooked up just fine. Any ideas on what could cause this issue?
  4. Mine does around 2800rpm at 70mph warmed up. From cold it does around 3k rpm as well. I would have to say that it's normal behavior. Like Terrano said, it's probably something to do with the Torque Converter Lock.
  5. Mine has been in a few races and hasn't lost one. I guess I screen my competitors... haha Though mine does tend to have it's "more powerful" days. Just put in a cold air intake, with little change besides the tone. All I can say is I've been in slower. Also depends on the mini-vans your trying to race. They can be pretty quick. Smaller tires can make a lil difference as well.
  6. So I searched and couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. I'm looking for a key fob for my path and was wondering if each model has a different set of codes or can I use a fob off a newer pathfinder(say '96 and up)? I've got a '95, and the stock alarm system works but I couldn't get it to go off so I'm figuring it might just need a remote. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks.
  7. I'm not sure which seal it may be. I haven't been able to tell. Is there something I could look for? I'll get on draining that extra quart.
  8. Yeah the guy still has it so I'm picking it up tonight. What might be a sign of your hubs going bad? At a slow roll (1mph-10mph), the path tends to make a squealing sound. Could that be the sign of bad hubs?
  9. Yeah, acutally I'm at about 116k now so I'm planning on replacing the timing belt and and water pump within the next month. Actually found a timing belt kit for sale on cragslist that I'm hoping to pick up for around $45. Acutally was planning on having all the seals done as well. How far out are you from Chandler? Have you changed out the timing belt yourself before beastpath?
  10. After noticing a few drops on the garage floor I got under the truck and removed the bottom skid plate to find that a oil leak was coming from the main crank pulley. So far it is a very slow leak. Some ideas I had were that possibly some of the seals have or are going bad or possibly a gasket. Another possibility was that on my last oil change (about 2000k ago) I used 5qts instead of my usual 4qts. I figured that may cure the slight "ticking" noise coming from the engine. Could it be that I used too much oil or am I on the right track on the oil seal or gasket idea? Thanks for the help in adv. I'm kinda guessing the ticking is coming from the Manifold studs... I guess I can't really trust another mechanic as when I was under my truck I came across a piece of a drive belt lodged in the crank pulley, most likely my alternator belt which gave out 15,000 miles ago. Funny thing is it's been to the same shop twice before and 1 other shop over the course of those 15k and no one even mentioned it or bothered to remove it.
  11. Not sure if it has been done. My plans were to change it around 117k, so I still got about 3k left to do. But it doesn't make the sound below halfway on the temp gauge. So idk if it would be the belt...
  12. So I've been noticing since I've moved down to AZ, whenever the oil temp heats up to halfway or more, it starts sounding like a diesel semi. I asked a few buddies and they said it's most likely an exhaust leak that just expands in the heat. My accel really bogs too as well but it only makes the sound up to about 3200rpm. Not too worried about it but it's annoying being soo slow sometimes haha. Do they have the right idea? Could this be more serious than I think? haha Thanks for the help.
  13. Minnesota, only took it on one trail up there which it had no problem with. Mine is pretty basic as well. Definitely up for something in the desert though. Not too sure how to distinguish between Indian territory and trails though... haha otherwise I'd be out there more often haha.
  14. Just moved down to Chandler, what part of phoenix are you from Beast Path?
  15. I ran premium for the first few months after I bought it and was getting maybe a couple more mpg's. That was when a shell station had V-Power for $0.07 over regular, but they went out of business haha.
  16. I'm lucky to get over 250 miles to a tank. Though I've ran to a pretty well at or below the "E", after filling up it was about 17.8 gallons after getting about 280 miles to that tank. I've read the driver's manual at least 10 times and it claims that it has a 21 gallon tank, though I'm not too sure about that. Cruising on the highway around 70mph I average about 320 to a tank. Around town I avg about 12-14 mpg on an easy throttle. Freeway is about 16-17 mpg. Worst I've ever seen was around 180 miles to a tank (>10mpg) , but that was a really cold week... haha. Not too sure why my rig drinks soo much fuel. But gas isn't soo expensive nowadays so I'm not too affected. Haven't had a serious tune up, so that could be the problem.
  17. Oh really?? Alright. I was looking through the pictures and saw a few other things I might be interested in. A little short on cash at the moment though.
  18. Mine has an issue with it's alarm too. No matter where the switch is, it doesn't arm the alarm. Also, when I bought my pathy, it came with only the copied key. If I were to buy a remote off ebay, would it be easy to program to my pathy, or would I have to take it to a dealer?
  19. No way?? For sure man. I think I may have fixed it cause it doesn't make as loud of a noise now.
  20. I'm up in mn and have been in the negatives for a couple days now. As long as I give it 15 min or so to warm up my heater works fine. I rarely have trouble with it not heating up or not defrosting
  21. Yeah, I changed it last at 100k, now I just broke 105k, so I had put that on the to do list for the weekend.
  22. Is there anything else that I could look for that may hint that the cat had gone bad?
