  1. So here is what seems to be the actual problem. The oil pump. It has gone out or is just malfunctioning. I will start up and have the lifter tick for about 5 seconds then go away like normal. Then after a few minutes my oil like comes on and the ticking comes back but gets really bad. I'm not driving it till I replace the pump. But there is no other answer than that. That I can think would cause this. Pretty sure I have an oil leak coming from behind the pump somewhere anyway.
  2. It hasn't even gotten below 40 yet. My oil is fine. I am not starting to thing that it is a top end problem and my oil pump is not pumping enough. I do have 190K on the motor.
  3. I use quakerstate 10-30. Synthetic. With a K&N oil filter. Only maybe 2k miles on this change. I just went outside and checked again because there is no ambient noise right now and it might be top end noise. I really need a scope.
  4. I had a quick question. My 98 every winter has had a knocking when it is cold out but only for less than ten seconds. I just figured the pump was going out but have not ever changed it. Well just this last week it has changed. Now its a continuous knocking. Almost like a rod bearing. But it does seem to be as consistent as a rod bearing. It seems to fade and come back a little. If the oil pump went out would it make a knocking noise???

  6. Its a VQ35DE. Which means its a VQ35DE. Same as a 350Z. The block and heads are the same. But yes the accessories are arranged different and the intake but the basics are the same. There are aftermarket cams for them that AC or JIM Wolf Tech. Plus you could put higher compression pistons in it if you wanted. But unless you are wanting to put a lot of money into it I would go to far. Cuz then you would have to start replacing alot of parts.
  7. It's funny that you are asking this. I am actually right in the middle of swapping out a LSD in my R50. My 98 SE didnt have a LSD but I have a part 97 that did. Also my passenger side axle I am assuming it tweaked because it keeps ruining the wheel seal. So I am also swapping out that axle as well. In my opinion it is a great idea. As long as you are a good driver then driving in the snow is no problem. It will help with traction a ton. It not very hard either. I started pulling apart the LSD axle about 45 min ago and am already done cleaning a preping everything. Give me another hour or 90 min and I'll be done. I say go for it if you have a LSD.
  8. You were only getting 12.5 mpg before? Ouch. Do you have an automatic in that beast or a manual?
  9. What is a Nissan Rodeo? Do you mean Isuzu Rodeo??? Any way we are talking about the badass 35's on this thread not lifts.
  10. Yeah they make the front lower control arm bushings also. I did mine last year. Dont really need any tools to take the old ones out.
  11. Wow. Maybe I am the first because I am smart enough to recalculate for tire size when I do my mileage. Oh an by the way I drive a 5 speed. Which gets better mileage anyway. I am sure if you are driving an automatic then no it wont because the computer will keep down shifting and you don't have as much control. So why don't you shove your head up your rearend where it belongs and be opened minded to the possibility that you dont know everything.
  12. Would you agree that with bigger tires you actually go further than if you use stock tires? So if your odometer says 100 miles you actually went further right? Lets just say "actually" 110 miles. So if it took "never in a pathfinder" 5 gallons you would say ok I got 20 MPG. Right??? Ok if you recalculate for tire size then you would have gotten 22 MPG. Well that is what happened to me. I bought two inch bigger tires back in the spring. I keep extremely detailed tracking of my gas mileage. So let just say I have a super truck then. I am getting a constant extra 1.2-1.5 MPG better. So maybe its just me and my truck but hey whatever. Plus you don't know anything about me so I think its messed up your comment "U are uneducated". Not that it matters but yes I am. I have a civil engineering degree and a fabrication degree.
  13. I have 33's and am actually getting better gas mileage. You just have to add the tire size percentage to the mileage. Also adding wheel spacers is no different than having a rim with less back spacing. I had 3 inch back spacing on my old pathfinder for years and never once had an issue with bearings. Just maintain everything properly. But must say looks sweet.
  14. So what is the stock wheel spacing on those rims?
  15. Yeah turning will be alot easier now. I have had mine for about 2 years and never once had a problem. The great thing about the warns is you can get the fuse gears that will blow before your axle. And only take about 5 min to replace on the trail. But yeah nice truck.
  16. Looks good. Like mine did just about 6 months ago before I got my new rims and tires.
