That... kinda defeats the point... ABS is normally to stop the front wheels locking up XD Ah well
-
I see on the NPORA main page that it's stated the 1990 Pathy had Anti-Lock breaks... is this true? I don't belive mine does... but then again mine is an SE with a 3spd auto not a 5spd manual and I'm just kind of confused - is the info on the general info page wrong or...?
-
You sure? I had OD disabled today to test and it still did 5 total shifts up to 75 MPH before I re-enabled it (I had to make a mad dash onto the highway due to heavy traffic)... 1st up to 30 mph (5.5k rpm), 2nd up to 55(from 5.5k down to 3.5k, back up to 5.5k), 3rd up to 70 (as I started to let off the throttle a bit, from 5.5k down to 4.5k), HUGE drop in RPM (from 4.5k down to 3.5k)(TC I assume), then one final drop, from 3.5k down to 3.0 as I slowed back down to 65 mph... *shrugs* Aren't exact numbers -- I was more concerned about the mac truck running up my arse end XD I then re-enabled OD and it dropped another 500 or so RPM and leveld at 2.5k rpm @ 65 MPH I'll actually test it tonight on the way home.

Uh, say what pathy? Norton is pretty worthless... so hard for it to ACTUALLY remove something
-
Er... yeah. TQ... lol... where the bollocks did I pull that from? So it is 1,2,3 - OD, TC lockup?
-
Aighty then... so what should I look for? I thought I needed the kit to fit the adapters?
-
I thought the VG30E was 3 spd, + TQ and OD? Least that's what, I think it was Ghostfinder, told me... o0'
-
Summit racing has me highly confused... I searched my model and year, and got no hits. Trying it by manufacturer (K&N), Pathfinder, and SEV6, I got three options... but they all look like they'd mount wrong. Can someone clarify the cone air intake kit I'd need to use? This is what I got it down to, but they look weird to me *shrugs* The Air Filters In Question Thanks yall!

Hell, if you're willing to ship it up to Harrisburg, PA... I fill up at Costco 100% of the time, have similar driving habits every week... only bad thing is my fuel gauge doesn't read right, BUT I normally get about 300 miles per tank and have two gallons to spare.
-
tsk tsk jj, bad on the starter motor and battery I'd bet, but when ya gotta do it Least you know the truck can handle it
-
How much would you want for it all? I may be able to do an engine rebuild and/or swap on it, but I don't know yet... I'll keep you posted. If you want to part it out, just dont' sell anything important
-
Dang, I know my 3 spd auto can do 30+ in 1st, 70+ in nd, and 100+ in 3rd w/ the TQ and OD locked in... But yeah, dunno much about the 5 spd setup *shrugs* They be good trucks though!
-
Nope, my connection is secure - I have jiggled every wire and connection I can get my paws on, no difference It sounds like it's coming from the rear end...
-
Don't part it out! I may be willing (and able) to buy it whole Is it an A/T or a M/T?
-
If I get the chance, I'll look tonight - i have my automotive class and may be able to find it in the online database my uni has.

jpawela, try activating your cruise control and bumping on cruise at 35 (the minimum speed you can) then accelerate and hold her steady manually- I've played with it and it seems to make it lock in faster/sooner, no idea why, possibly a fuel saving thing.

I know the colder, denser air will help slightly, plus it'd be cleaner. The air-ram can only serve to provide a limited boost by increasing breathing, but I don't expect to gain 5000 hp off of this Hell, I'm currently just working to restore her back to all 135 or so horses... after 18 years I doubt she's running on all of em XD

Trailchaser, if you like, I can try to help you fix this on your own - I'm not as adept at manipulating Vista as I am XP, but I should be able to walk you through fixing the problem. If you wish, try the following first: AVG Free Google Search Go to that link - the first item will be AVG anti-virus. You should see their free anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-rootkit. Download all three of those. Install the anti-rootkit FIRST, you will need to reboot the PC during this procedure. Allow it to reboot and finish the installation. Install the Anti-Spyware, then the Anti-Virus. Run the Anti-Rootkit software first. Once it comes up (hopefully clean), run the Anti-Virus SECOND. After that has run, you should find one or more viruses of various types. Heal them if possible, quarrentine them if not. Once that is done, run the anti-spyware. Same deal as the anti-virus BE SURE TO UPDATE THE ANTI-VIRUS and ANTI-SPYWARE DATABASES BEFORE USING THEM - it should ask you during installation if you'd like to do that - if not, it's pretty easy to figure out how Finally, google SpyBot Search and Destroy. Install that, immunize, update, reimmunize, and scan. Remove any threats you find. That SHOULD help you a lot. If you still have problems, lemme know and I'll gather some info from you to help you a bit more. PS - Norton, and all Symantec products, are worthless. On the odd chance they CATCH a virus, they are HIGHLY unlikely to be able ot fix it!

Any idea on diameters?

not even so much as a view in an hour? :coffee!:

Aight, I've followed a few of the snorkel threads here and none of them really caught my eye - I have a few design specs I need to know: What is the MINIMUM "volume" tube I need to ensure enough airflow? What kind of material should I use? I was thinking of forming it via fiberglass, would that be strong enough if I reinforced it with wire mesh? How should I attach it to the airbox? I was thinking of bypassing the filter box completely and putting a cone or box filter inside a watertight access compartment where I can take it out to clean. Should I face it forwards or backwards? If it faces front I get the air-ram effect, but are there any downsides to mounting it as such? Finally, would it be easier to route it out the fender, or should I pull it out the hood itself? Problem I see with pulling it thru the hood is that I won't be able to use the old hinges... would have to remount it so it can open XD

Pardon my stupidity - what's a centerlink 3-link?
-
I think they're legal in the mainland 48, don't see why not. I plan to do a catback exhaust plus a new highflow catalytic in addition to the new intake... I want her breathing real good. Only problem is, I can't seem to find any info on the damn catback system... do they make em for these trucks?

Road Trip from Florida to Alaska in the path!
Kittamaru replied to RoadTrippin's topic in General Forums
Alaska? 1) At least a weeks worth of non-perishable rations and twice as much water 2) Fire starting materials (waterproofed matches, lighter, etc) 3) Foil blanket, spare batteries, lamps 4) Emergency Radio and/or Transponder 5) Phone Schedule (after 2 hours late have the family alert authorities) 6) a firearm or good knife - I'd take my 1911 Colt .45 semi-auto myself along with a Buck or Bowie knife or a k-bar 7) Brain Keep it smart, change yer fluids, battery, possibly spark plugs, wires, and dizzy cap even. Keep spare fuel in an airtight container, be safe, have fun!
