Doug Thorley Headers Group Deal

I'm so definately in, just don't have the cash right now to do it! *crys* -
red, if I knew enough to pull my engine apart, I would. However, I cannot afford the time or money if I make a mistake and break something, loose something or, God forbid, simply can't get it put back together. If a more knowing NPORA member lived anywhere near me, I'd chance it knowing that, absolute worst case, i could get some help. As it is, though, I really cannot loose my daily (and only) driver.

*shrugs* it makes sense... when I used the Lucas Oil treatment the noise went away for a while... and in under 2 years I put over 75k miles on it, nearly doubling it's odo The kit was something I was looking up myself (my mechanic is vehemently against it because of the price of the kit and the possibility of low quality parts), but he's a master ASE mechanic and has been taking care of this truck since my grandfather bought it 16 years and 146,000 miles ago

I'm actually thinking it's not the exhaust manifold - my mechanic thinks that, because of the mileage I've put on it in the last two years, it may be the lifters and/or rockers making the ticking noise. I'm looking at a total engine rebuild kit - does $500-800 sound about fair?

*chuckles* I'm broke mate. My fiance's cavalier is at over 1500 in repairs (engine + fuel pump & relay, now looking at the ignition system + key tumblers) Ugh... only reason we're keeping it is it's the 2.4L DOHC Ragtop variant. nice lil car... just seems to hate us

Optima Yellow Top - that's the one I'm going to go with

I have read the threads, problem is without labeled pics I'm not really sure what to look for - I may ask my mechanic to show me so I know for sure - we haven't gotten anywhere near this in my automotive class yet XD As for the battery - I did a search but didn't find a topic on brands. I'll try again though.

I have a ticking noise in my engine... I know I need to replace my valve cover gasket (still ain't got around to that yet) but I was wondering - I saw the topic that broken manifold studs can cause ticking noises, especially on cold starts. How would I check to see if mine are broken...? I'm not really 100% sure what I'm looking for. How difficult are they to replace/upgrade if they are, or are not, broken. Also, while I'm doing this, will I have the engine apart enough to do the valve cover gaskets? Thanks! -Kitt PS - I'm also looking to get a new, deep cycle battery. Any suggestions on brand?

.357 revolver... when you see the camera, pop it off I hate damn cops... they aren't there to enforce the law anymore, they're there to slight the public and fill their quota!

I've gotten about 3 foot off the ground accelerating up a nice hill on the road near my house Always fun to hit the crest at aroudn 60... would love to go faster, but there is an IMMEDIATE sharp right after the top, so I can't afford to hit oncoming traffic

Just upgraded my old stock headlamp bulbs to PIAA's. The difference on that alone is astonishing... I'm hoping come summer I'll have the time to do the wiring harness and relay change, but as she's my daily driver (literally) I don't know if I'll have time

what size tires do you have? my pathy is stock and I've driven her thru deeper... though was there ice or just water under that?

mws, what are the 300zx studs?

So, wait... You pour half of it into the intake, let it sit half an hour, then start it? 0_o I'm confused as all hell now XD
-
Any pics of what such line you're talking about? I've been thinking of doing this, just I was told to dump it into the throttle body area *shrugs*
-
Try it with the guides on it?

One word mate... one word... Winch

.... uhm... AVG Free doesn't... ever... ask you to install the full version and pay... sounds like a fun rootkit, a pirate version, or some seriously screwed up registry problems!
-
Oh, inside the rail itself? Lol, thought it was under the truck, sorry.
-
If you do sell it... can I have it? Goddamn... I'm in PA... that'd be the PERFECT gift for my fiance!
-
Oh? You have a picture by chance? (there's a LOT of stuff midway back on the truck, especially when you dont' have any way to lift it to get your big head fully under it )
-
Sounds like your buddy was running something kinda fishy then... AVG WILL disable even critical windows components if they are infected, it's that deep. And yes, norton corporate might be better... still a resource hog though XD
-
*chuckles* Fueler, I understand your fear of me taking it and running, but you honestly don't have to worry - I won't so much as let my fiance' buy me dinner without making sure I pay her back some way or another
-
Least yall know nobody can steal the truck
