  1. It means the transmission is gone. I had the same problem a couple months ago and had to get mine rebuilt.
  2. Thanks for the compliments. I agree with the crappy nissan steering. I just figured if I stayed with 31's it was a little less drag and weight for the steering. I know it will fail, maybe it will just take a little longer!!! Plus with the lift and rims I needed to save some money and the tire store had these 31's that fit in the back of their storage room, someone had not picked them up and I got them for $89 a tire! Casey, I used the CALMINI ones. I got the whole 3" kit. You can definitely tell the CALMINI ones are stiffer. I have had the lift on for about 6 months and the ride has softened a little, but it feels more like a truck
  3. I have a hard time looking at that pathfinder. I have seen some nice built sas rigs like mookie's, but that one is kind of like looking at somebodies face that has had to much cosmetic surgery. It may look good to them, but everybody else doesn't think its so great. :o I would put some bigger tires on it too because I doubt it is a daily driver.
  4. I have 31's and 3" suspension lift. I thought it would be easier on the steering with 31's and later if I get the CALMINI steering kit I can go up to 32's. I also like the look of the 31's with the lift.
  5. I bought this same kit that Mr. Pickles has. I too am lazy and have not installed lower BJ's and the tie rod ends. They are very good quality and if I remember right all of the parts have grease fittings.
  6. I installed that same kit on mine. For a complete kit with all you need included it's REAL GOOD! The stuff is heavy duty and goes together easily. I also had no problem getting it aligned the first time with new tires. The only complaint I have is the UCA bushings like to squeak, but I don't care. If you have the money for the kit buy it. If I had it to do over I wouldn't lift mine any other way!!!
  7. I would go down to the shop personally instead of calling and ask to see the progress of your vehicle. Then see what they do! They can't lie about what they have done then!
  8. I have to say I didn't hear any squeaks for a long time with my Calmini bushings, but now it's so loud when I turn and go over bumps it's almost embarassing! Earth 1 let me know about your results. I am probably going to install some zerks in mine so I can atleast grease them easier if I am going to have to do this all the time! :furious:
  9. Was it a public auction? I would love to get my hands on a military Humvee. What kind of shape is it in? I have heard that most of them that make it to auctions are pretty ragged out. It would be an awesome rebuild project.
  10. If you want a quality 3" lift kit for our trucks you can't beat the Calmini Kit. That's what I got and like it a lot. I put 31" MT's on mine and I can't believe the difference just putting MT tires on makes. For the tranny cooler search ebay. I got a brand new in the box Hayden 679 cooler that they had listed for a Ford F150 for $30. I don't think anyone knew they are universal coolers so know one else bid!
  11. I agree with 88. I put a Hayden 679 and a B&M filter kit inline with the factory cooleer and it lasted for about 6 months before my tranny was history. As soon as I got my truck back from the tranny shop I cut the factory cooler out all together. Now I just use the filter kit and the Hayden cooler. Don't trust that factory cooler!!
  12. I ran mine up the drivers side A pillar and under the plastic piece that runs above the doors then to the back hatch and through the rubber gromet that the third brake light wiring runs through then I mounted the antenna on the flat back part of the roof like DJ. I also did away with the cigarette lighter plug and hard wired it in. Nice and clean!
  13. Slick I was looking at that Viair you have that is nice and looks like it would work pretty well. I have one of the regular Campbell Hausfield portable tanks. If you fill it up to about 85 psi it will fill one tire before it equalizes. When you guys get your hardmounted ones installed post some pics. I haven't decided to hard mount one or keep one portable.
  14. That is nice, but the price is too. I was wanting something that is reliable, but not so expensive. I have heard some good things about these too. They aren't to expensive. I just want something to air up tires and not take all day. Viair Tornado III Vengeful, when you install yours take some pics. I would like to see where you mount it. I know I don't have much room under the hood.
  15. Here is a picture of one mounted. Here is a post on another one. They seem to like this model, I need a compressor and thought it might be a cool mod. Thanks for the ebay info Trailchaser I should have thought to try there first. Onboard Air
  16. I saw on a sheep forum where some guys were buying portable air compressors and hard wiring them to the battery and installing them under the hood or inside. Has anybody here done this or have any onboard air? I saw this for a pretty good price at 4wheel parts. Portable Air Compressor
  17. I owned a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee for about 2 yrs that my wife drove. I liked the power of the inline 6 and the suspension on it with the solid axle. I wish my Pathy had those. It did have a transmission sensor go out about 2 months after I bought it. Luckily I had a friend at the dealership I bought it at fix it for no charge. It was a nice vehicle, but didn't feel as much like a truck as the Pathfinder. I have also ridden in several Wranglers, but the fact they are so small and no storage space turned me off on them quick. My Grandad has a 2002 Jeep Liberty that has 25,000 miles that he has promised to sell me cheap in about another year. If it is a good deal I will take it as a daily driver then I can really mod the Pathy!
  18. Great pics! I love that one sticker "Honk If Parts Fall Off"
  19. Man that cupholder is sweet! I'm tired of my morning coffee ending up all over my console and carpet. I never thought of one of those fold up kind. My wifes Toyota van has those kind attached to each seat. I might have to make one disappear. sssh
  20. Just take them off and do it yourself. I got anal about my bumpers and spare tire carrier looking faded. So I took them off and painted them and the grill and corner lights while I was at it. I left the spare tire carrier on and just masked off the whole back of the truck for over spray. I sanded them down good then sprayed the bumpers and tire carrier with Walmart Duplicolor auto spray paint and painted the corners and the grill with Krylon Fusion for plastic spray paint. I had it done about 7 or 8 months now and still looks good. The whole job cost me about $20-$30.
  21. dnodog here is the website for the equipment. Freedom Fuel America They say it is perfectly safe and actually lubricates the diesel engines better than regular diesel. I was very interested because some day I want an F250 diesel. I will also keep the Pathy of course!
  22. 88 I saw a show on the Trucks TV show that told you exactly how to make diesel out of old cooking grease. The whole set up to make it cost $850 then all you had to do was get the grease and some lye. They said the exhaust smelled like french fries! After the intial investment you could make a gallon of diesel for about 70 cents.
  23. That's the way mine went out. I was in a Walmart parking lot and went to back out and no reverse! I'm glad no one was parked in front of me and I wasn't out in the boonies somewhere. Sounds like to me if you have low line pressure I would definitely put an external cooler and bypass the stock one immediately! It might buy you some time.
  24. I put new NGK V powers and some new NGK wires in mine and there was a noticeable difference in power, but at 135,000 miles it didn't look like they had ever been changed!
  25. Nice pictures. That is some gorgeous country! :cool2:
