So I was googling for rebuilding pathfinder starter, and what do I find... ..a photo of YOURS you posted somewhere else, lol..dang bro, you are famous Which part in that photo is the 'brush'. Also if you rebuild starter, do you get a new solenoid or not?
-
Wow..I have this problem on my pathy too, only started in cold weather and almost everytime it rains. At my sears hardware store, I picked up this for $3.59: OH, it didnt come with the thin red plastic straw, so i hijacked one from the adjacent cans of other stuff I'm going to jail edit: I havent tried it out yet, lost the straw thing somewhere . will post result

88path, you said you 'rebuilt your own' starter, you cleaned it up and replaced brushes. Where do you get the 'brushes' for it?? Would you recommend in rebuilding or buying a new one? Oh, does anyone know how long a starter lasts?

I second the idea to snailmail to Kittam and let him scan.. I have 90 path too. If you do so, you can have my ex girl: -
That vbs/psyme is a script designed as a html format which ONLY exploits a vulnerability in Internet Explorer (I use firefox). The script itself doesnt do any harm, it compiles itself in the vulnerability of IE then saves itself as outlook.exe drweb.exe and if launched it will download trojans etc, the purpose to spread itself. Some antivirus engines may detect a variation and may display a false alert. Example if someone writes "ho1y shi@t my pathy iz more l33t than urs", and perhaps 2 words/codes are in fact somewhere used in the actual trojan, it will display alert. If I were you, I would go to www.windowsupdate.com and let it scan to update with all patches/security fixes available from microsoft. Reboot. Run a good antispyware such as spywaredoctor or spysweeper or AdAware. If you don't have it, google trend online scan, let it do a complete remote scan to remove any spyware, malware, grayware, trojan, adware, dialers, scripts, virus, etc. Perhaps you are infected and the alert is more prevalent on your pc. What antivirus you are using? I came to that link with mcafee, nod32, kaspersky and didn't notice anything odd.

Ok, I got my new rims/tires in..installed them
NaturaTek replied to NaturaTek's topic in General Forums
I went with a xacto knife, but don't think I can do it. I drove in a parking lot and started turning until the scrape noise. Stopped and went to look. Its rubbing on the back of the fender flare, over the screw. Looks like I need to trim the steel fender itself. Or is there a temporary economical lift for the front I can do? It looks like if it was raised just a tad in the front, it would not touch the rear of the inside fender flare right where it screws on the fender. I was thinking having someone look and tighten the torsion bars to get that little lift. However I'm not sure its a good idea? Since this is all stock and I'm not sure how bad the parts are. What is the proper good way of adjusting torsion bars for a 90 pathy? I searched a little and diff people have diff takes on it. There was a tiny picture tutorial I found via google. It said something about 'reindexing' them. Does someone have a tip/trick or a favorite way to do the torsion bar thing? Are there any dangers to look out for? I need to take some photo, too damn cold outside. -
Got the procomp rockcrawler rims 15x8 3.75backspacing and 31bfgs. Put them on, Everything is well, except for front 'rubbing' when I turn. It sounds like if you have a shovel and you shovel a scoop of snow, that same sound effect. So I started to turn until I hear the noise then I park and look. I have stock fender flares on pathy, and it looks like it might be rubbing/scraping against the back of the front flares. Or is that scrape noise coming from somewhere else? Other than that, everything rocks. The procomp rock rims did in fact come with center caps. Basic chrome looking, no logos. But the dang front center caps are hollow. You can see the hub thru. I'm sure they sell some center cap covers or something. I'll check pepboys. 4wheelparts.com did in fact mount the tires and balanced them. The balance weights are in the inner side, which doesnt show. Don't know why all tire balance places doesnt use this method. They also came inflated. You literally just mount them on pathy. For me, they shipped via a freight company called R&L freight. Took about 4 business days. I was scheduled for friday, but noticed they had it Thursday. I called the freight company directly and asked if I pick it up myself today can I get them. They had no probs. Drove up there, cut them out of the shrinkwrap on top of a skid , threw em in back of pathy and left. One thing I am happy about, I can drive 60-65 (havent tried faster yet )and no more vibrations like the truck was gonna come apart, I was always limited to 55-57 with acceptable vibration. The mixed match set I had before maybe sucked or simply had a super sucky balancing done. Also don't skid like before. Should I remove the front flares, or all flares? I need to get some kind of small lift done, but might have to wait till 2months. I was googling and said new tires should be breaking in by driving "500 easy miles". Hmm they do ok so far, but they'll have to break in over time with everyday driving. Correct tire maintenance is rotate every 7,000 or 10,000 miles for bfgs? Happy, just hope that noise don't mean I'm gonna break my tire fluids (yeah dont try to get me with that one) I'll take photo after this wet iced snow here. Thanks for help

Hmm well maybe some guys dont know, but the 90 pathy does have 2 cup holders. the center console between the seats, when you open the lid, there are 2 diff size cup holders under the lid that you have to manually pull down. They actually worked good, but since I cracked off the whole top lid of the console by accident, i'm cupless lol

Hey man, I'm still a noob but I too have a 90 pathfinder and there are 2 current threads on this issue that might help you, including a video by trailmaster Here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16808 and here: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=7703 oh wait and here too: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=6957

I usually hold drinks between my legs, but that never works...If I don't roast the chestnuts with hot beverage, theyre swimming in a puddle of iced coke. So I walk into the office with this big wet spot between my legs and get questionable looks, lol.

Show some pictures, I too have a 90 sev6 pathfinder. I think mine says Nissan on it. I'll take some photos so you can compare.

Sorry bro..sucks. I hate these cup holders so dang tiny, don't these ppl know everything on the market nowadays is huge and wide bottles? Try fitting a 7-11 gulp in there, hehe.

I ordered these http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT63883.aspx along with a new set of bfg at 31s. I think they only had 2 types available in 15x8. Someone said they fit fine, but if anyone else has any input, please share. I didn't know wtf when ordering, but I figured 15x8 will fit. Now I hear all this stuff about backspacing. Hopefully I picked up decent ones with no probs for a stock pathy. The other ones are 4.5 backspacing, would those have been better? I also noticed there where some 15x10s. In what application would one use those for?

ahh...you smell that? oh nvm, it's yozsi. Anyway, could you unpin this? This thread don't make sense to be pinned. Yes I do search sometimes. but some threads are old and since then there are new members maybe a new revamped view on the topic... so why not keep things working fresh on somethings? -

Did I miss input on the stock rims vs rockcrawler procomp rims..or nutshell on this 'backspacing' stuff? Not on that thread bro. -
http://usera.imagecave.com/Kathy17/MiddleFingerDesktop.jpg Yes GrimGreg that is just for you, it's even lifted with springs for you. You made me look like an idiot at my cousins garage when I asked him to check muffler bearings. Only to get laughed at by all the mofo friends in there..then i finally got it, there is no such thing. Thanks bro For those that are done laughing at me, are the stock chrome rims (like the ones on trailchasers pathy) are better than procomp rockcrawler rims (the ones that look like cragar8s)? I ordered them, along with a new set of bfg ATs (thanks guys), but a couple of local dweebs told me the stock rims might be better than those, even though they havent seen them. In a nutshell, could someone explain this 'backspacing' stuff? I ordered the ones that are 3.75 I think. I have no idea wtf that is. Please dont tell me to 'change the backspacing fluid', this noob is already catching on a bit...

I'm gonna buy new tires/rims..advice on my selection please :)
NaturaTek replied to NaturaTek's topic in General Forums
Ok, I ordered: http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetail.aspx?partNo=PCW97-5883 and http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetail.aspx?partNo=BFG60316 I would have gone with cragar8 like mentioned here, but 4wheel parts did not carry them. I chose to order from 4wheelparts because if you order a set of bfgs you get a 60$ INSTANT off giftcard and free shipping. They also mount and balance the tires FREE, they also had a 10% off sitewide thing...oh hey and no tax, screw the IRS for xmas season. But right at checkout they popped a little thing that said 'dont forget lug nuts'..theyhad a complete set chromed, etc etc. for 49.95. I added that too, yea 50$ for some nuts, they still got me Order came out close to 700$ shipped for everything including the balancing/mounting. I can get rid of these used mixed match tires I have on now, lmao. Thanks for input into my pick. By the way..on summitracing, I noticed they had two diff bfg all terrains. looks identical, same price..but one said 'white letters' and other said 'solid white letters'. Is there any meaning behind that? Well the model number for 'white letters' is the same from the ones I ordered on 4wheelparts.com. Anyway in checkout they asked me what side I want, blackwall or whitewall. I chose black. -
I'm a new driver for a couple of months and I feel exactly what you talking about, freaking going 55+ and biscuit heads cut in front of you with out warning, same on city streets. Ahh its ok, I got a brush guard now, I'm just gonna ram into them a little...
