  1. Social D fan... I got a similar problem... just don't make 90 degree turns at high speeds and you should be fine... but I'm 98% sure it that its the size of my tires... but if its something else I'm all ears... Take away this ball and chain!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Wow... Good Find!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even know about the possible fire... Wow!!!!!!!! One would think that that would be grounds for a recall for service update... I'm gonna have to ck mine... Thanks a million...
  3. John I am sure all the WD's are happy for you input... but your on vacation brother... shouldn't you be drinking beer somewhere???? I'll have one for ya, I'm walking out now, till the 8th...
  4. I had the same problem with my drivers side door... the lights flashing were frustrating but the lil chime damn near drove me insane!!!!!!!!!! But my switch was messed up... I ordered one a new switch from Advanced... was like 2 and change and the shipping was more expensive than the part... and someone else mailed me another one and it was the wrong connection... but I canabalized all three and made a new one... and the button was like 1/8" short... I cut a piece off the cap of a gallon jug and basically made a spacer and tucked it under the plastic cover thingy... end of problem... and a great help to whats left of my sanity... But your on the mainland and shouldn't have to stress to much finding one at a junkyard or even buying/returning a new one...
  5. Sounds just like mine... the only difference is I have a better view in the morning, as its warming up...
  6. Yeah... but the problem with sledge hammer is it has a tendancy to scrach things, if you miss... I'd use a couple gallons of good Hydrochloric Acid...
  7. Who would of guessed that... My first thought when you mentioned your budget was Superglue... but I'm kinda new to these things with 4 wheels, my Pathy is the first thing that I have ever purchased... I've been doing motorcycles for the last 13 years almost exclusively and none of my bikes had radiatiors... but if I'm wrong, I'm more than certain that someone will correct me...
  8. Well if its frozen shut... your pretty much screwed until you can get it to melt... or you could always put it on a cargo container and ship it down here and I'll take a look at it... Or but on my 90 the other day it got stuck too.. try banging a little in the middle with you hand and sometimes it just needs a bit, to wake up... if your pulling on it as much as you say, pray its just not popping up and like the others said see if someone else can pick it up... Good Luck, cuz if its that cold and you can't get her open... you know something easy is gonna screw up that one evening it's drizzling and just above freezing and you took on that double shift drinking...
  9. I'd try to jump it, before taking it out... Is it possible you got a defective new one?!?!??!
  10. http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16086 I just had a similar problem... and it started with one headlight (low) and progressed to both (rear) running lights... and everything else worked... I replaced the switch, with a used one and it was like Lighting a Chirstmas Tree... They say that if you clean it you can BS yourself a few extra weeks... It didn't work for me... Ck the link there was a lot of info...
  11. Putting that swithch that John sent me was like Lighting a Chirstmas Tree... all types of lights!!!.. John, thanks again Brother...
  12. I paid $40something way down here for my 90... and we get screwed for everything at the parts stores, due to the shipping... or thats there excuse... I'd be willing to be its more around $30ish (like 440 said) on the mainland... I've been told that it is suppose to be relatively easy on the Pathys, but I didn't have the time, since it my primary... and yes I got raped takeing it to the shop...
  13. Here's my 98 cents... If this is a "disposable" viechle... keep the rear packed a good half dozen quarts of oil (or one big one), at least two cheap funnels, a few plastic bags to keep the mess a min, and a couple clean rags for the spills... and good plan B for getting home... sooner or later your proably gonna lock that baby... get pissed of and not ck, drink too much, simply forget, low on cash, whatever... When I was younger my mom had a few really crappy cars that weren't worth more than a few buck, at best... I've been stranded more times than I'd like to remember, for all types of reasons... and its never been somewhere really nice and pretty... and way before the cute "popular" cell phones... Take it from me, being stranded in a bad spot... that is the real pain in the ass!!!!!!!!!!!! Bonus Engine Locked Story... I was with a buddy of mine who had a similar problem, when we first started college... the guy faithfully always had plenty of oil in the trunk and cked the level constantly... Till that one night... We ran her a bit too much... I drank to much, and forgot I had put aside a buck for oil... and because of me... It locked coming back from Mexico (we live on the South Texas border) in the wee hours of the night... Nothing and nowhere to go... till the cops came... anyways to make a really long story short... a bunch of fat shaved down goonie goo goo gangster chicks (that we never met) pulled up to our rescue... they wound up giving us a ride, way out of there way to past the next couple of towns to the sticks, where my buddy lived... We got really lucky or blessed... you be the judge... Its been a while since I've been in your situation with my mom's cars, so I feel ya... But this may or may not help... I've been riding bikes almost exclusively for the past 13 years, the last year being the exception... but my last bike had a bit of a leak and almost stopped when all the crap basically sealed it, for a good while mind you... till I got caught a massive storm (1-2.5ft in the street)... back to the way it was... so it may subside maybe not, I would guess not, but I'm not too saavey with these 4 wheeled things... Fix it if you can... if not Good Luck Brother!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Damn It!!!!!!!! It's working fine now!!!!!!! Did you fix it?!?!?! It works fine now... I guess it was an Island thing... but I did get a good laugh... and I tried to fine the old guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. John, You use and old guy from Ace Harware with a red vest and a clip board?!?!??!?!? Dose he wash and wax the truck too?? I've heard of prices for "mail-a-bride's" and hookers... but what dose an old guy run??? Haaahhhaaa Somebody else PLEEEEEAAAAASSSEE, Click the link... hahahhaa Brother you are too funny!!!!!!! I'm gonna be chuckling all day with that one, that pretty much made my day... I'll ck into the urithan and the old guy... Thanks, all useful information (and goofy stuff too John) is much appreciated...
  16. Yeah, I figured that when I relized the amount of rain depends on where the drips fall... I may be getting wet but at least I won't have cold wet nuts... to warm here...
  17. Well I am tring to avoid the new windshield, at least right now... and was pretty sure a glass place wouldn't want to do it, since I'm almost positive, its not the right one for the truck... but if I don't get any decent ideas I may have to go and try to find someone who would consider it, not a lot of options though... Thanks for the silicon story... I'd rather have a wet ass than do re-wiring/etc... due to homemade Gremlins...
  18. Okay I know that I can't be the first to have this problem... but I just did a search and didn't find anything of much help... So I'm proably asking the King Bone Head Question of the Year!!!!! but in my defence I've been riding motorcycles almost exclusively for like 13 years (the last 10 months being the exception)... This Pathy is the first thing with 4 wheels I have ever bought... Anyhow, my windshield has a bit of a leak... I was told NOT to put silicon... the paint is pretty good so I don't to screw that up... I don't think that the windshield is for a Pathy... and I just relocated, in the US Virgin Islands, so the parts store are a bit skimpy on most stuff... my budget is a lil low and won't improve for a few weeks... and I'm tired of my ass being wet everytime it rains... suggestions, comments, or complaints... Thanks, King Bone Head
  19. Oh God the infamous 6th one... I had only had the truck like a few days and it took me somewhere over 45min's to change that one... I had to get under the truck and reach up to find the where the plug went... Then use the 180 ft of little extentions... Now that was truely a learning experiance... It was just a wee bit different than changing the plugs on bikes!!!!!!
  20. I second that motion... ck on the wires...then plugs gap... and the code box is pretty cool... I didn't even relize the thing was there till they told me here... Good Luck
  21. Yeah... I'm not looking forward to it... I was inspecting the fuse box and some of the clasps are all jacked up... and I have a couple rigged just to stay in and tight enough for contact... Plus I really don't like to do electrical stuff in general... and even less in these four wheeled things... Depending on how things go in the next few, I just may pay someone else... I really can't express how much I don't want to deal with it... and 88 thanks... I think I found a 91 box...
  22. Dose anyone know if a 87 fuse box is compatable with my 90??? Or did something drastically change.... I can't seem to find any useful info...but then again I'm not real good with electical stuff either... Thanks and any useful information is appreciated...
  23. Behind the stereo huh... you know uncc is gonna mail me an old light swithch... but the original owner had a dvd player rigged in her... of course some crack head pryed the door open that first weekend and took care of that problem... I taped up the loose wires I could find but didn't ck behind the radio... Damn Crack Heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll ck after work... but she was a one eyed dog before too... but its gonna be at least a week for the switch to get here... Caribbean Time... Thanks...
  24. I'm not 100% sure on Cali Hippy laws... first ck your least agreement... then go rent "Pacific Heights"... but if there are gonna evict you the have to start the chaper 11/13/???... then after forever and a day... it goes to the municipal paper work (which usually take awhile too) then you have X amount of days... then back to the paper trail you go (takes awhile again)... then the judge gives you X amount of time to relocate... usually its more than enough time (especially for honest hard working class people)... usually the system is abused on a regualar basis by section 8 and "low income" individuals... plus they usually steal everyting of value and trash the rest... usually the whole process can takes about 6 months and most people never pay the rent... I got a buddy that has rentals in Texas and he goes through the process all the time... plus I got "evicted" less than a year ago... because I wrote several letter asking for assistance... butmy land lord didn't want to change the locks "because someone was entering the apt"... I found out later that, many of the young ladies had the same problem and there undergaments were being moved... anyhow I was "evicted" because I put a lock on a closet door... and "...it was a breach of the lease agreement...". It is a long and dramatic story, but we went to court two time... I wanted out and didn't fight to much because I wanted to break the lease and had a new place already... the second time he tried to rig it to keep my security dep... I ate his lunch!!!!!!!!!!!! The judge is usually very fair and give the tenant some slack if they know your getting screwed by no fault of your own... Don't call a "lair"... call the local municipal court first... but inform yourself first...as you have been... Romeo
