This is super cool. glad to see people out here still swapping in manuals lol
-
really depends on how they look id say. I just re did headgaskets on my 96 and i had 4 or 5 that looked like this. didnt realize till i was putting it back together. Even then i still ran them and it barley makes any noise so i got lucky lmao https://imgur.com/27n9NYb

Rack is in, new tie rods, all the camber bolts, tagged and insured. First drive went well, grabbed the Fam and hit the woods. Luckly the 4wd works because i got soft out lol Also i need to find some weight to put on this front end. Struts are not happy with these lift springs. front right seems to be topping out pretty bad. SO gotta find a bumper for the winch i have. Otherwise just needs a new trans mount and output shaft seal to be completly done for the moment https://imgur.com/ppxlE3C

was able to get another set of camber bolts in, got the wheels straightened up but have a slight bit of negative camber. This tells me ill be able to get it straight with a good alignment. Went on to replacing the tie rods, and the inner seals on the rack are pouring fluid out. So now have a rack on order lol this thing is gonna continue to drain me with having 235k miles on it lol
-
was trying to get the front end straightened out last night. i think i may have to run 2 sets of camber bolts. These 2in 4x4parts springs are pretty damn stiff. im hoping they relax eventually. i removed the sway bar and tried to get it to flex a little so i could get the cv axles out and that was a problem haha. had to hammer them out being they were hitting the lower control arm from so much droop.
-
well got it all on the ground yesterday and drove it around. gotta get the alignment done, new tierods, rack bushings and possibly another set of camber bolts. I have everything in the garage but just ran out of time. Also front diff isnt in since pinion seal is trashed and i think its leaking behind the passenger axle. may just source another diff from the junk yard. Otherwise it drives around! just got to get these AC coils and 9446s to settle in and well be good! https://imgur.com/3XhUaw5 https://imgur.com/6QKYQiV

SFD is here and ive got it all tore down ready to drop the Subframe. Gotta figure out the best plan of action to do it by myself but i think i have an idea. Ready to get this thing on all 4 and on the damn road lol heres a link. couldnt resize it https://imgur.com/dYYVLJ2

So hows this thing doing since the 4in SFD? just got mine yesterday and tearing into it. basically going to be the same exact set up
-
ordered up a set of 9446s and got them on. Brought the back up a bunch thank goodness. Tracking shows the SFD will be here today so im super excited for that!
-
to an extent i would say yes, but at the same time no. Yes because you are changing the physical geometry of where everything sits, No because its all being moved the same amount. alignment will need to be done to correct any issues but drivability should remain the same
-
Finally got the trasnmission switched out. couldnt find an R50 one so scored one from an xterra. Gotta switch out shifters since they have a bit of a different angle and the shift boots dont fit. gotta get all my old sensors put on being all the plugs are different but its in and drives with no more terrible bearing noise. may pull the old one apart and see what happen. STILL WAITING for this Sub frame drop but ive been in contact and he will be reshipping it shortly Just ready to get this thing on the darn road lol

no dice on their site. https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-sender-unit-fue~25060-2w610.html How ever with the nissan part number a nice used one came up on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/144813268307?_skw=25060-2W610&itmmeta=01KHRXR4H004RS68BN0X5A69M6&hash=item21b78b1d53:g:x-gAAOSwsRxjdQHp&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xAkQI%2FqM3Rw428piJZ5y3hwYKabyrqCnEwCd%2FG%2B3PnsBnmiT2UVFM%2BKYzCUJtV9QcoJBWHG8Y4HxLHWz%2BfDB6bdt3OtUhDpkqwGA6twhTNt8TBw6qMwv499cZV%2BOegJt4himmcRyf%2BcZhDZ3tXhq1999rMbjhZO9YByygFOBB79vujohmiYK1MzR0c0U%2FRJOHtMDBjwtshtS6VdoV7qtuTsf5IXWeX0Tt5b%2FtptJ47oN7ZbKDBjqENq8k3KeDbvoa9QuSebUpuvhsCaWdrqM7JsuEW0PM8orYqY6cDrc0J05Q%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9zI4J2OZw

what year exactly https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts-list/1998-nissan-pathfinder/fuel_engine_control/fuel_tank.html?diagram=172_A002 They show 2, both kinda pricey

so little update. Got my SFD ordered back in like november and it showed up in december BUTTTTT the lovely people at UPS messed up the box quantity with item quantity and the tariffs/duties skyrocketed to 2400 bucks per box. which means 4800 for 2 boxes with 500bucks worth of parts in them lol so its been re routed back to the shipper in canada and is currently "lost" per ups but they found it in montana. It has been an absolute shyt fest and waiting. So in the meantime i put on some 2in AC coils from 4x4parts and debating on if i want to rip the trans out of it to do the clutch now and replace the input shaft bearing since it is howling and making all kinds of racket. Heres a pic of the truck last night after i did the coils

scored some 33s this weekend. think this thing should look pretty good once the SFD comes in. ready to get it on the road. Still gotta find a transmission or tear this one apart and replace what ever bearing is bad in it still https://imgur.com/6MnME5J https://imgur.com/XLSO7dk

yah i know what i can and cant do in those aspects lol never know what little quirks youll find though. seen something about the PS lines and a missing link which noone will ever mention on FB. i dont doubt i can do it, i just wanna know the the little aggravating aspects that noone talks about you know lol
-
Good deal. im in a few of the R50 groups just figured the forum way would have been a better approach to ask. ill give that video a watch, i appreciate it
-
well the Vg33 whether its in the pathy, frontier, or Xterra, seem to be a common issue. Ive put a handfull in my 01 xterra. worth sourcing one and trying out. I keep a spare in the back lol
-
i bought these same ones years back. Hit the tip of that center section with a flapper wheel and knocked it back a little. used the stock cclip and all was well
-
id slap the tank a few times with a mallet and see if you can jar the pump. had to do this before and it at least got me home
-
im getting ready to pull the trigger on one and id like to know what im getting into. Doing it i dont believe will be an issue, but for something ive never tackled im sure its going to start off rough. Any one have pictures or a link of an install? trying to search up on the site but havent really come across anything helpful

i always get rid of the spider web of stuff under the intake. my fix are these large thick vacuum caps you can get at a local part store. Been running my woods truck like this and just did the r50 i got. unfortunately in this picture you can see where i left my hose clamp off on the heater hose lol ' https://imgur.com/a/5rEE8mI

it was number 2 intake, 1 exhaust, and 3 intake and exhaust. and i hate to say this.......... i stuck them right back in lol. Motor was a gamble to begin with considering milage, blow head gasket and the fact cylinder 2 and 6 had some bad pitting in the cylinders. This motor isnt long for this world and i dont expect it to be. Just trying to keep it running long enough to actually build the truck and then im gonna be souring a lower milage one and spruce it up a little. Ive got an extra supercharger for my xterra ill probably end up stuffing under the hood at that point also
