AC Delco variable rate springs and suspension upgrades
dogla replied to WA97Pathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
With a 2" lift I still think manual hubs are a must. With the lift your cv joint angles become much steeper, I had situations where with my lift the joints would briefly lockup when extended all the way....now with the manual hubs it's all good... Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk -
AC Delco variable rate springs and suspension upgrades
dogla replied to WA97Pathy's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Maybe camber adjustment bolts? I usually just replace all (well most) suspension parts when doing stuff like this. Keeps me from going under the truck a second time.... How about manual lockers? I just installed a set on mine and it's supposed to lengthen cv joint life, especially with a lift.... Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk -

Installing reverse camera in bumper or lift gate?
dogla replied to malacandro's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
I installed mine on the license plate, but I guess it depends which camera model you have and best way to mount it... Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk -
How did you overcome the camber after lift? I have camber adjustment bolts installed and even when adjusted max, it's not enough. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Does anyone know where I can get used fender flares for a 2001? I'm not in the US so I can't really walk into a salvage yard. I saw Rockauto.com does have them but $125 a pop.....way more than what I was hoping. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Just done my lift. Installed 2.5" spacers up front and landrover coils at the rear. Got a good 15" from the ground to my side steps. Overall pretty pleased with the way it turned out. I'll see how it handles the road. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Supreme Suspensions - Front 2.5" Lift Kit for 1996-2004 Nissan Pathfinder and 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9YYHHC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_og44DbQP9S366 Or Supreme Suspensions - Full 2.5" Front + 2.5" Rear Lift Kit for 1996-2004 Nissan Pathfinder and 1997-2003 Infiniti QX4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSESH4F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Vl44Db73ECE3J I just bought landrover coils for the rear which supposed to give 2.5" lift at the rear. I haven't received any of these yet so I can't confirm but I've read others have done it this way. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

I'm supposed to get my 2.5" front spacer and landrover rear springs which would give me an overall lift of 2-2.5" according to item descriptions and other people experiences. I guess basically as soon as you lift, you introduce bigger angles at the driveshafts so automatically more strain on the joints. I encountered prematurely ripping boots at 3-3.5" lift so I guess this time it's gonna be a bit les frequent boot change.... Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

My standard wheelsize is 265/70/15, so yeah they sure will fit on yours. I'm even running 31" tires now and they still fit. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

I'm using 4runner steel wheels on my '98 and they fit fine. Center bore is bigger so it aligns itself with the wheel studs when you tighten them. The ET20 is probably the wheel offset (but I might be mistaken) Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

I must say, this truck is built to last. I have mine for over 14yrs, never did any engine repairs (I do have the diesel version - japanese model), only cosmetic and suspension work done. Even lifted mine 3" and looks stunning. Needs a paint job and some tlc (which I haven't given it for a while).....truck has over 280k kms on it and still runs ok. I too have a '98 and have converted the front to a 2001 after a crash that mangled the chrome front bumper. I ordere both front fenders, bumper cover, bumper reinforcement, grill and hood. What I also should've ordered were the splash guards, mud flaps and fender flares since the old ones don't fit. Looks better, sportier... I got all my parts from Rockauto.com Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Steering Pump, Outer Tie Rods, $1,256.06 ?
dogla replied to mbailey802's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Ur getting ripped off. Go to Rockauto.com and get your parts there. Should cost you no more than 2 or $300 Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk -
If my memory serves me correct, I bought T5 LED bulbs for my dash conversions. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

I use a program called ECUtalk and get rpm, speed, injection timing, air flow and a lot more. Here's what I might use and there's still more gauges to select from. Also read fault codes. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Probably because mine is a Japanese version it came only with a consult port and no obd-2 port.... Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

All I have on my truck is this port. And the tool I have connected to it to read vitals is a consult diagnostic reader which is connected to a windows tablet I integrated in my dash as head unit. Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

Is it an OBD2 port? Mine has Nissan Consult port and I have a '98 Sent from my SM-G973U1 using Tapatalk

I've done mine with projectors from theretrofitsource.com. Go with the mini d2s. They're awesome. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Strong feelings about aftermarket front axles?
dogla replied to malacandro's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
$40 for a new aftermarket axle seems relatively cheap compared to new OEM. I guess for every new oem unit you could replace the aftermarket at least 5 or 6 times. Please bear in mind I'm not an off-roader so I can't say how durable they are if you would go off-roading... Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk -
Strong feelings about aftermarket front axles?
dogla replied to malacandro's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Hi malacandro, I frequently shop on Rockauto and can tell you not every item is of very good quality. But usually they will put them in categories like economy or daily driver etc. I have also installed reman cv axles some 5years ago on my truck and even the boots are still good. Probably around 75k km on those since I installed them (work in a remote area and on rotations so my truck isn't being driven when I'm away for work). The brand I bought was Cardone select, which sold new units for about $40 (at least I assume they were new since it said on info page that it was). Good luck... Sorry if it seems like I'm hijacking this thread but I'm kinda recognizing some od the issues I have with my transmission. When cold mine takes a while to go into 1st after putting ut in D. If I want it to engage right away I must not put it in D but in 1st or 2nd. After driving a few hunderd meters or so I can put it in D while the car is moving and it changes from 2nd to 3rd. However if I haven't been driving that far yet and I come to a stop, say in a traffic jam, I will need to put it in 2nd again to engage. But if I've been driving for a while it behaves normally. Downshifts as normal. Can anyone tell me what might be the issue here? And what to look for? My previous tranny also had this problem and after it completely jammed I pulled it out andnit had metal pieces in the pan. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

Ahh yes in that case better let the shop do it. Thought you were only doing rear springs. Best of luck buddy Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk
