  1. interesting...well, for what it's worth...I think I'll be selling my "rare" R50 soon, so if anyone is interested, please let me know.
  2. anyone know if these from an 01 will fit? alos, what color are they? grey or black?
  3. that was along time ago...guess I should change my signature. I finally changed it, after about 2 weeks after the first 5...when I finally figured out what that tool in the pouch was for
  4. still looking for OEM rails if anyone has them...sorry for the long delay. a lot has happened since I last posted.
  5. anyone out there know where I can find build stats (i.e. number of units built) for each year model and specs? I'm curious b/c I saw someone post on eBay "rare 5-speed" and I was just curious how rare my 97 SE 5-speed really is.
  6. I used a few washers to make up the difference...all is OK now I hope. #9 setting will definitely rattle your teeth :cool2:
  7. DJ, can you take a picture of your lower shock mount and post it here? I'd like to see how they handled the spacing issue.
  8. Here is a pic showing the width differences...
  9. come on guys, has nobody installed these shocks on their Pathy? Well I called Rancho, and they said the reason they don't fit is b/c they don't make a shock to fit the Pathfinder. Way to go AC ...so misleading.
  10. would pictures help this cause? I can post them after work if necessary...
  11. Go with 31x10.50...don't put the 30x9.50 on it as they are to narrow and look retarded (trust me)
  12. what about the top mount? Did you take out the metal bushing inside the rubber bushing to get it to fit over the bolt?
  13. OK, so I'm trying to install these RS9000x on the rears. 1.) First thing...the upper mounting pin is larger than the hole on the RS9000x. However, there is a metal bushing inside the RS9000x upper mount that can be pushed out. If I push it out, the shock will fit. Is this OK? 2.) The bottom mount on the Rancho is smaller than OEM shock. The OEM has a flared bottom that seats in the cradle on the lower shock mount. The RS9000x does not have a cradle...just a straight up rubber bushing. Therefore, the Rancho is about 3/4" narrower than the OEM. If I mount it, there will be space between the lower mount bracket and the rubber bushing on the shock. The shock would not be tightly held between the lower mount bracket. Someone suggested filling the space with washers. What gives? Am I missing something here? TIA ~Stephen
  14. will do...should be getting them soon.
  15. I just replaced my #6 this past weekend...it wasn't bad at all this time around. I used the Nissan tool with no problems. My only suggestion is to put a small piece of tape on the plug once in the tool to hold it place just enough to keep it from slipping out of the rubber seating. Worked like a charm. Guess I should change my signature now.
  16. OK, here's the update...I'm getting the RS9000x for the rears, but his RSX struts came from a 2004SE and they won't fit my 97 according to AC. I'll report back with comments once installed.
  17. That pretty much describes me...
  18. Replaced all 3 belts this weekend, and after a few miles of break-in, I'm now getting a little squealing right as I fire it up. Very quick, then immediately goes away. Anybody have any idea of how tight these should be? They all "seem" tight now. Also, do I need to worry about proper torque on the pulley, adjusting brackets, etc.?
  19. Looking at a set of RS9000x 9-position adjustables. 1.) Does it make sense to get adjustable rear shocks if the front is non-adjustable struts? 2.) What are the opinions of the shocks from current/past Rancho owners? 3.) Should I go with the 9000 or maybe the RSX self-adjusting?
  20. well, I went with the BFGs again. Turns out, the REVO deal was good but not as good as I originally thought. Firestone slipped in the "madatory" road hazard package for +$80. So true savings were cut from ~$240 to ~$160. And the BFGs were on a great special everywhere so I'm happy.
  21. Need new tires, currently have the BFG A/Ts and love them...45K miles and still going BUT in hearing all the hype about the Revo, I am open to a switch. The Revo is being offered at an incredible deal right now...buy 3 get 1 free + $75 rebate, so around $475 installed. The BFGs are running about $515 installed. What are your thoughts? And, do the Revos look as good as the BFGs intalled on a Pathy? TIA ~Stephen
  22. Do our engines have purge control valves? I ask b/c my Volvo had the same problem and I replace the purge valve (aka, EVAP control valve)
  23. Do you think your MPG improved any? Throttle response is better? I hope so, man these 3.3L struggle for power. Low range torque is OK but throttle response is for the birds.
