  1. I'm hoping Ihave time to crawl under there this weekend to try it again. I'll post with the results.
  2. The impact wrench worked great on the others but I fear I did round it out a bit....it kinda slightly got away from me once :furious:
  3. I tried getting the plug out to no avail...even put a 1/2" impact wrench on it. Anybody ever used a siphon device. I'm thinking of a boat gas bulb and siphon it out.

    turbo

Not exactly. HP for the 3.3 NA Frontiers was rated at 170. The S/C version was rated at 210 hp. So, +40. I think adding another 40 on top of that would be relatively simple, just by messing with the boost, ECU, and some other basic things. My mistake...but I believe the N/A Xterra was rated at 180HP. You could do a K&N, exhaust and a chip for less than $1K and probably get 60-75+hp...much cheaper than boosting and better payoff.
  5. Unfortunately, you'll need to..no one (trustworthy) will repair a sidewall

    turbo

I believe the supercharger only added about 10hp. Anyone ever put a '01+ engine in a pre-'01 Pathy...out of the box, they're making ~240hp.

    turbo

Big Johnson, you even say it yourself, "difficulty of re-obtaining a reliable engine. Going from N/A to turbocharged always causes issues, (be they electrical/ECU related, engine internal strength related, etc.)" Come on, you guys know there's more to adding a turbo than just adding a turbo to an existing engine. Say what you will, all I'm saying is that our Pathys aren't remotely designed to accept turbos...not the engine, gearing, coolant, anything. Want more power, again, drop a diesel in it and call it a day.
  8. I believe there is more to it than a bumper also..I looked into it and it would require some reinforcements places in teh rear quarter panels and other misc. equip. I knew I should have held out for a rear carrier...but I did at least get the 5-speed.
  9. And I thought putting Pathfinder decals on my rear side windows was a waste of time...
  10. I have the entire download in zip format for just 1 download session, rather than 20...I tried loading it to my website but the file is too large (~37 MB).

    turbo

B/c of gearing and other issues, turbos aren't worth it in a Pathfinder or any other 4x4. You're better off dropping a diesel in it to inc. power/torque/MPG.
  12. could very well be the struts I'd go Rancho
  13. Anyone have any pics of a 96-98 Pathfinder with the Sliderz?
  14. I just noticed today that my driver side OEM tubular step rail is badly rusted underneath, on a 97 SE. The other one is perfect. Dealer quoted me $450 for one, or I could buy the set for $350... ... anyone else notice premature rusting on their OEM rails??
  15. clunking could indicate a bad strut and/or strut mount
  16. looks like you have existing rails...why not go with a Thule using their foot pack system? That's what I use.
  17. don't know if this helps, but just recently (last 10K miles), I've noticed that on a harder take-off, I feel this "thunk"...like something is shifting, maybe a loose/broken motor mount or the driveshaft, moves...very hard to decsribe as I don't know where it's exactly coming from.
  18. Not sure where the Legend Nissan comes from, but here's another article on the "Oyster Bay Nissan" he mentions... CLICK HERE
  19. ever since I've had it, the clutch doesn't want to disengage all the way...it sticks about 3/4 way back. I've gotten used to just popping it back with the top of my foot. I've tried everything I can think of, grease, fluid, etc. Any ideas?
  20. Is it necessary? I wish...it sure would make for an easier sale to the misses... "why do you want that...that's stupid..."
