  1. I had a 88 V6 and mine was located inside the distributor at the very bottom of it. It's about the size of your palm and it's black plastic with one plug and what looks like a small mini CD that spins. Very easy to replace. I'm not sure if that will be the same on the 93 but if the part is the same for diff year models that will tell u. Btw I replaced mine and I was wrong it needed a timing belt. Those have to be replaced every 60k. If it skips or jumps your done. Interference engine keeps turning and will bend a valve or worse Sent from my moto g(7) optimo maxx(XT1955DL) using Tapatalk
  2. Hey guys I don't have my WD21 anymore. But I do have 3 D21s and they pretty much the same. I have a 1994 D21 Base Model w/ AC. The plastic switch broke on the blend door switch on the dash. So I disc the cable and have it under the dash. I can adjust my cable to any source IE: Floor, defrost, combo, But I can't get it on vent at all. I know it goes to a white cog behind the Radio in the center in above the trans. Any tips on how to adjust and move it to vent permanently. My AC & Heat works fine. But it's a PIA living in South Ga with AC blowing out the defrost and fogging up my windshield in [emoji817] humidity. Any help is appreciated Sent from my moto g(7) optimo maxx(XT1955DL) using Tapatalk
  3. I replaced my crank angle sensor on the exact truck. Mine was a 3.0 V6 I'm assuming yours is too. I actually ordered one for a D21 truck because it was lots cheaper and was an exact fit even tho they told me it wouldn't fit. It's super easy to change. Just a sensor with a plug at the bottom of the dist with what looks like a mini CD that spins. It didn't fix mine. Mine ended up being skipped timing but I caught it too late and wasn't aware of the 60k timing belt on these trucks with Interference engines. Mine had the same symptoms as u said weeks before mine jumped and killed the engine for good. So make sure u know ur timing belt has been changed in the last 60k. If it's close. Change it. Lot cheaper and easier than a new engine. Sent from my moto g(7) optimo maxx(XT1955DL) using Tapatalk
  4. Nissan D21 Diagram https://imgur.com/gallery/b99I7cr Only way I could show u both full pages. Hope it helps.
  5. Crazy question have u ran diagnostics ? Checked dtc codes on computer under pass seat? Also check these things that are all attached to the throttle body. All those mostly look air and whistle related and u said throttle body was changed. Photo size limit won't let me send whole pages.
  6. Josh I had your exact truck for years. Have u changed the timing belt ? If so how long or miles since ? Do u know when it was changed last? (don't know how long you've had it) Mine had very similar issues to what you're saying in the weeks leading up to it just dying and not starting back up. Turns out it had jumped time a few teeth but didn't break the belt , just bent and damaged the valves plus some and cost me lots more than a belt, water pump, tensioner kit. Those are interference engines. Without looking it up I wanna say they're supposed to be changed every 30-60k. I got the factory Nissan service manual I got from a great dude in this group. If it's not that my next guess would be crank position sensor. (inside the dist n the bottom.) Also btw not sure where you live but I've seen lots of decent Junkyard engines for right price. I still have a 94 Hardbody D21.
  7. Thanks I found an engine outta a 95 with only 59k on it with a 90 day warranty for $600. For that price it's just a better call to go this way. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. I've been told u can swap a VG30I to a VG30E I have an 88 and the newer engines are cheaper and lower miles and a little more power. What else has to be done if you put a E engine in an I truck? ECU swap? Thanks in advance Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Hey everyone. I haven't posted in a while but just wanted to thank everyone for how much help y'all have been in the past. I have decided to sell or trade my 88 Pathfinder as I'm not able to work on it any longer. Just wanted to let y'all know. Most everything works on it. I think it's got a jumped timing issue but wasn't able to get the bottom pulley off the truck. It turns over and sounds fine. Anyway if anyone is of interest. I'm located in South Georgia. I have the title. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. Used same duck puller. Brand New kit. The truck won't start but turns over fine. And bottom crank timing skipping is my last guess unless Redpath is right (he usually is) PB blaster has been used. Will let u know what I can find on keyway. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. My 88 pathy has a stuck balancer pulley. Got removal tool. Bolts keep bending. Will try and get grade 8 bolts but they aren't very big. Any suggestions? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. It's getting spark. And has new set of plugs. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. Been a while since I posted but everyone here has always been great. My truck won't start. Turns over fine and even sounds fine when turning over. I have checked to make sure it's getting fuel ,replaced the CPS under the distributor, and pulled the timing cover off to check the belt hasn't jumped. No codes coming up Any suggestions? 14. I have the exact same truck and mine hasn't worked since I've had the truck. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  15. Fuel pumps great and filter is new it's getting gas to the TBI I do have. Light but cannot find any sort of timing mark or notched plate on pulley. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  16. I had a switch on mine that was in same location on my 88. Diff switch but I think mine was for fog lights. Didn't look factory to me tho Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  17. People are telling me that mine maybe bad n a different thread. My issue was truck started running rough. Didn't have the power it did just a general running poorly. I adjusted timing got slightly better. Then one day on interstate i had gotten on it and it died. Hasn't started since. I thought it was crank sensor. But I've checked everything n the world I can think of. Supposedly it can still spin and be bad bearings. Idk. I've never heard of that Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  18. Guess that could be it. I'm really at a loss. I did have someone try and Crank it while I adjusted the dist all over the place just to try. Same no matter where I put it. Didn't sound any different when spinning over Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  19. I'm not sure if it makes a difference on what u meant but the rotor spins while turning over Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  20. Also I'm getting spark out of and into dist. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  21. Just sensor. The dist cap and rotor button look like they were replaced before I bought it. I had the old button in back of truck when I bought. It's not fuel pump or timing belt. I haven't checked codes again. But I am going too Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  22. Also my ECM was reading the code for this part as well. But it had read that code since I bought it and always ran fine Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  23. Hey guys I haven't been on in a while. Few months ago my pathy broke down on me. It had been running rough and kinda like sputtering and stalling esp if u put your foot down well it finally just died on interstate one day and would not start again. After lots of research and u guys I was pretty sure it was the crank angle sensor sense I had all the symptoms. Well I finally replaced it today and still won't start. Plz help any suggestions appreciated Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  24. They're very pricey but the bfg at ko is a great tire. Looks great and still performs well and still last longer and ride really good. But they are so $$$ Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  25. Thanks for the replies. I'm gonna get a meter on the crank sensor plug and check it and the plug under the body. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
