Ok so I am a pretty good welder my dad has 2 Lincoln wire feed welders one he bought full price. one he got at an auction for 100 bucks he was mad because a week earlier he bought his brand new one for 700 bucks I think.. But also at school we have oxy wire feed and arc(stick) and a plasma cutter. I learned on the stick welders they are really good for learning. There are less components just strike and go. Don’t have to worry about wire speed getting the tip clogged or keeping your hand level. Plus 6011 sticks are pretty cheap you can get a 50-pound box (last you forever) for like 65 bucks. Also if you get stick make sure to keep the sticks in a dry place, if they get even a little damp you can tell the difference in the arc. And with enough practice you can do anything with a stick that you can do with a wire feed. Besides round tubing. Don’t go with the harbor fright. It will fall apart, even with light welding. If I were to buy a welder I would go with Lincoln miller or Hobart. but check out used ones in terms of welders older is better.

Yep that sounds right just watch the seals, they can get bad and brittle.

well first of all lots of people told me it would look bad coming from a school were everyone diver toyotas i did not pay attention to them much. but i fugured out the all the guts wold be hanging down below the body 2-3 inches(that was a mide bogeler jk) + i was thinking you might be able to see threw the vehical on the back wheel whells(no biggie just puts some plastice pices in there). and then your bumpers need to realined up so on and so forth. but i dont think they are bad i just have been looking at picks of vehicals simmilar to mine with a 2-3inch body lift. some look good some look bad. but over all i think after i do the JGC and the t-bars i think i will give it a 2-3 inch bL. thanks all and sorry for posting too much.

Ok so when I got my 1988 pathy it was sitting on 32X11.50 tires without any kind of lift. I thought it looked pretty cool like that. I did not have any real intensions of lifting it. But when I started driving it I realized if you crank the wheel as far as it can go it rubs a little. So I started looking at lift kits body/suspension. I realized body lifts a pretty cheap. So I got excited and started looking at witch one/kind I wanted. But then I found out body lifts have down sides (I kind of already new I just wanted one because they were cheap) so I looked into suspension lifts I could afford one but then I would not have any money for GAS. So then I went to the poor mans lift torsion bars and coils/springs whatever you want to call them. And out of all that I have decided on ford 2"inch springs in the back using the torsion bars to gain room in the front and then maybe a 2-3 inch body lift. If you guys have any suggestions on this plan can you let me know. O yea and can some one gives me the rundown on how to adjust the torsion bars or give me a link. also you guys have been a real help to me and my pathy. i wil try and put some pics (only got pics of the springs)yea i am repainting my brush gaurd. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/pa...er/pathy005.jpg

yea 4 wheel disk breakes.

yea they were mainly cosmetic there was a pretty good service record with it. but he left old wires for lights and speakers everywere.

I measured the can and it will cover the right turn/break light (cops wont like that) or if I put it on the left of the tire it will cover the latch. Besides it wont be to hard to customize it just time consuming and when I am done I can exaggerate and say “yea I made that”.

sorry guess agian i pulled it going down the road i did not here any banging clanging or grinding plus i have inspected it prett well it just squesses the driveline.

i have a rear tire rack on my pathy. when i was opening the back of mine i relized if i cut the tire holder part out and move it to the left or right i will have enought room for a jeep can(gas can) i think i would look pretty cool maybey use a stencil and put Mudfinder on the can? but realy i just wanted to see if anyone else customized there rear tire rack. and made it more useful. pics on the way need to use the oxy torch at my school to get started.

you know what when i was trying to use it as a e-break and it dident work the break was kinda hard to use. when you let go it pulls in(the driveline is not squeezed) when you pull it out(you have to hold it) it squezes the driveline.

no it a auto the only thing is when you let go it goes back to normal(not squezzing the driveline). i think the guy was a dumb ass and tought he had a brilliant idea. look at my other posting and it will show you what the previous owner did to this poor pathy.

i know if your going to go cheesy go all out with florecent orange or somthing.

what is the drive line break for why wold you need one?

i tried it as a getto e-break and well its not . when i first relized it i was hoping for ejector seats! i have aftermarket non ajustable shocks can you tell me more about them(were to find the leads to the shocks if they left them) so i can go to u-pull it and get some.

i do not know my dad got it at an aution about a year ago. but it does have some beefy 32/11.50 tires on it.

when I first got my pathfinder I realized there was some stuff I had no idea what it did so I bought a Chiltons book and found out a lot of stuff. but here are some things that I could not find out. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/pa...er/pathy006.jpg this knob that you can pull is located just below the 4 wheel drive and leads out under the vehicle to the drive line. it looks aftermarket http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t318/pa...er/pathy008.jpg it squeezes on the drive line what the heck does it do? second thing is a switch on the left side of the e-break it says sport or touring or in the middle. I flipped it back and forth running and not running it did nothing so I pulled it out and it was disconnected so it connected it and it still did nothing. is it for aftermarket lights or what? The third thing is the alarm system I know what is does but I popped it out and the wires were cut the was a male plug with two prongs is this the plug it goes to? any help wold be appreciated.
