NIssanBoston's r50 mild build
NIssanBoston replied to NIssanBoston's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Not done too much to my truck since last update, did order some decals from fleurys, Got to say they look great! Messed up on the windshield decal though >.> but that's my fault. Next upgrade is purchasing a whole cat-back exhaust system an having it installed. -
Do you by chance have a link to where you purchased 2 1/4' cat? Yeah i like the good old truck sound .
-
Yeah it's one of the pipes that is included in this http://www.1aauto.com/complete-cat-back-exhaust-system/i/1aemk00070?f=573542&y=1999 i'm pretty sure, maybe i'll go to my mechanic or look under my truck to see what exact pipes fit etc. I mean it's fixed i just don't like the noise it bothers me, my mechanic said i'd eventually have to replace the other pipe because that will break aswell.
-
I just have a quick question for everybody about a decision I'm trying to make. its a decision between getting my whole exhaust assembly replaced from after the cat(pipe broke connected to it leading to the muffler) , this happened a while ago and I basically Mickey moused it and had a flex pipe welded on to temporarily fix it. The part about that is it kind of makes a flurrying sound kind of like bird wings and its really annoying at times and made me not really want to drive with my windows down. My mechanic quoted me $650 to replace the whole assembly leading after the cat. My other option that also interests me is getting a lift. Its about around the same price range. I've been wanting a lift for a while just have been deciding on a good lift to go with, i think I'm going to go with OME setup then 1" fleurys spacers up in front to level it out. If I replace my exhaust assembly I am probably going to have to wait at least another 5 months until I get to purchase my lift. What would be more beneficial and would help me out in the long run, and what would you do if you were in my position? All feedback is greatly appreciated.

I know kno what size tire i have ..
-
Exactly! It's not that much room, but they fit and i've been running them for about 4 months now so, So then it would fit without no problems then, sweet! I plan to later get different rims. Thanks for the help that makes me happy that this lift is going to fit now, now to decided which package i want , I also habe gabriel struts, i'm going to switch to KYB's there the exact same diameter for the spring perch on the strut correct?

So would a 245 75 16 size tire on stock rims fit with the ac coils? I plan to get the suspension package, I think 235 75 16s are orig tire size but im not too positive I have to check, I have the 245 75 16s on my truck, not that bog either. Thanks for all the help btw, just want to be certain that the coils will fit on my tire size and stock rim thank you!
-
Oh wow on google maps it didn't look like that bad of a trail guess it wouldn't work with my stock truck lol, just a quick question about your pathy from nh , I see you went with ac coils , could you link me to the coils? Still deciding on a lift ome is a little too expensive for me . Did you need spacers to fit the coils? Thanks for the info!

If the tire swing is for a WD21 it wont fit our r50's and plus, if your pathfinder did not come with a tire carrier stock then it does not have enough support behind the body for it. You'd also have to modify the bumper plates that the carrier locks onto. I bought my carrier off e-bay , It fit perfectly and just needed a quick re-spray , heres one of a carrier that's been up for some time now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-NISSAN-PATHFINDER-SPARE-TIRE-MOUNT-SWING-CARRIER-BRACKET-96-99-/291102581259?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1999%7CModel%3APathfinder&hash=item43c710e20b&vxp=mtr

Which Suspension lift package?
NIssanBoston replied to OR99.5Speed's topic in R50 FAQ's & Pinned Topics
Hello, i just have several questions about going with a lift i want to get. I plan on going with the OME lift, i was also thinking about the AC 2" lift from 4x4 parts https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-suspension-lift-p-1550.html It says that i would need to buy aftermarket wheels with a negative backspace, has anyone fit stock rims with this lift? Does anyone know if it is possible to fit stock rims? Will it cause any damage in the future? The ome lift seems most reliable to me because it says nothing about backspacing and camber bolts, http://www.rocky-road.com/nissan-pathfinder-lift-kit.html It also says they sell it in the set depending on your model year it was built. Do i need to buy aftermarket wheels with the OME lift? It says nothing about it, i read on this thread that you don't but i just want to make sure. How much does it actually lift when finally settled?Would i be better off buying the package? Or the coils seperatly Thank you! -

That's very true, yeah i was suprised with how far my stock truck went, i went to a jeep event and went every the jeeps went except in the mud and i kept up with the jeeps, i didnt do one obstacle for that reason of because i knew i was going to fail it lol. I just bought these general grabber at's so it will be a while before i see myself getting new tires. i'm getting a ome lift next -

Yeah that's why i keep it off mostly because of that reason , i plan on getting a trailer hitch and rock sliders in the future. I mostly go with jeeps and they usually pull me out with a tow strap. The jack is for in the future when i go by myself -
What did you do to your Pathfinder today?
NIssanBoston replied to RedRider3141's topic in The Garage
Took measurements from the bottom of my tire to the beginning of my fender flare -
Looks nice and clean, yours is very similar to my r50, post some pics of the lift before and after! Great job so far with cleaning it, i should hire you to do mine

Yes I plan on getting 1" fleurys spacers with lift coils, and yeah there was bolts already to the carrier, the previous owner said it was too much of a "hassle" to have the carrier which I don't understand at all... >.> takes two seconds to open it.. -
Hello everyone, i’m finally deciding to make a build thread after so long of being on the forums. I have a 1999 Nissan pathfinder SE with 118k miles on it. This is my first truck and my very first off-roading rig. I plan to use the knowledge i gain from here and personal experiences to build my rig up to my standards and needs. Below are the current goals i have set or the current mods i want to be installed on my truck. Future mods: -2” lift with 1” Fleurys spacers(Currently deciding on old man emu springs or AC coils.) -Mile marker manual hubs(I have them just haven’t got aroun to installing them) -33” Mud-terrains all around -Gas can mount -Arb Bumper with winch -Custom fender flares( On the idea of the 2014 jeep flares) -Receiver hitch -Roof rack -Off-roading lights -Snorkel Mods installed -Tire carrier -Hi lift jack mount with jack -Cb radio+4”firestik antenna -Mirror mount for antenna -5 245 75 16 general grabber at2 My truck when i first bought it, there was alot of things mechanically wrong with it, but i guess it was just love at first sight . The truck had 115k miles but needed both cv axles front ball bearings new struts and it needed a flex pipe. Got all those fixed and was on my way to making the current mods i have now. Those were sadly the only pictures i took of the truck when i first bought it I then wanted to fill that empty space in the back, i got a good deal on a tire carrier off ebay and bought it, weeks later i got home from work and there was the ups guy delivering it , perfect timing. It was very rusty when it arrived so i re-primered and spray painting the carrier. It was my first time spray painting anything and i got to say i was not upset about the results at all, I then wanted to install a cb radio for when i went on convoys and went on off-roading trips, i had no idea what i was doing when wiring the thing or setting up the antenna , i got very big help from Npora CNAM he was very patient and helpful , before you knew i had it installed and working. I bought a mirror mount for the antenna and it did not fit over the carrier so i had to drill larger holes and modify it to fit, i finally got it to fit and tighten it snug and mounted the antenna up. I don’t have a picture of the cb radio set-up in my dash but i’m working on getting a photo of that I have one picture of currently how the tailside of my truck looks like, thats me on the left and my daughter sitting on the carrier, my hi lift jack was not mounted at the time as you can see the hi-lift mount on the back. I’m deciding on the lift i want to get, i want to hear personal experiences from all of you guys with old man emu coils and ac coils , What would be the best option for me on a budget friendly basis . How does it ride? and do they sag after awhile? And i heard of you needing backspacing with the ac coils i was wondering if i have that right amount of backspaccing with my stock lego wheels. Any information is more knowledge to me so please don’t hesitate to give me some information, like i said i’m new to this and this is my first truck/off-road vehicle. I’m always open to suggestions aswell !
