  1. Yeah , I'll have to do more looking around for some better antennas, yeah pretty much id only use it for trail use and basically for convoys , I only want 1 antenna but now that you told me that I'm going to search around a bit more for a better setup for me, what about those mounts would they work and attach to the carrier? Just so id have an idea what mount id be trying to aim for
  2. I recently got a cb radio as a gift from my wife, and i was wanting to mount the antenna to my tire carrier, i heard firestik was a good brand and i came across this bundle deal, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dual-4-Firestik-II-CB-Radio-Antenna-kit-2-4-FT-FSII-18-CoPhase-Mounts-/390537267045?pt=US_Radio_Comm_Antennas&hash=item5aedd5c765 I was wondering if that would work to mount it on my tire carrier those mounts that are included in the package deal, i'd only want to use one antenna for now but would that be possible? With the way those mounts look? Thanks everyone

  5. I just put a order in for my hi-lift jack and a spare tire, my current spare is not even a spare.. lol has a slash in the middle of the tire. will post pics once i have everything installed and up. Thanks for all the help guys! if i run into any problems i will definitly post it here, btw how many pounds can the tire carriers hold?
  6. Yeah exactly that's how I exactly want it!, is there any drilling or cutting? Hows the assembly process?
  7. I was wondering about how to approach this task, im not to familiar with installing a hi lift jack on the tire carriers so any help info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I looked at other members thread's and i really didn't see that many with the hi lift jack on the tire carrier, but i would like to mount my on the tire carrier for convenience and just because i like it better on the carrier. Also want to mount a gas tank on it aswell, but i'd do that much later. I'm going with a hi lift jack right now because i really can't afford a winch there to expensive for me at the moment and i don't have that much money to dish out to a winch so i'm taking an alternative and decided to mount a hi-lift jack up on my carrier. I found a couple sites that have them that vary in prices. http://www.amazon.com/Hi-Lift-Jack-HL484-Black-Steel/dp/B00042KG3A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402106453&sr=8-1&keywords=hi+lift+jack This 48 inch hi lift jack i was thinking would be a nice choice because my truck is still stock, though i do still plan to add a 1.5 inch lift,it should still suffice. Thanks!
  8. Oh thank for the info! Thats great because I don't have a scan tool so I'll definitly do that next time , thanks!

  22. I was just actually at sears earlier today, and i was looking into craftsman and husky tool sets i think i might go with craftsman , little more costly but they will last and won't break like you said, yeah i'm definitly looking into breaker bars ext and universals for all my car maintence needs , They have a flea market over here and i bought a big tote of tools for 20 dollars so those had some old goodies . Definitly think i'm going to go there once in a while to check to see if any new tools are up for grabs Thanks for all the info precise!
  23. Yeah i was thinking that same thing, maybe it'd be a better experience for me if i just use hand tools, also less costly aswell. Got any ideas precise on a good quality mechanics set? I'll probably maybe purchase a air tool set when i get better experience and a shop lol, It'd also save me a lot of money as of now aswell .
  24. Thats exactly what i want to do, eventually open up my own shop, i need to support my 14 month old baby and my wife, working at a peanut butter factory isnt cutting it . I want to career in automechanics, currently looking at schools right now to attend. Yeah i definitly still have to purchase jack stands still and the air tool socket set . Tight on money though so thats why i want to get good quality stuff but at a good price. Thanks for your input!
