  1. Hello Looking to do my final engine upgrades to seal this thing up. Been knocking out a lot of projects this year. Just got it back from paint with a dark metallic Red. Looks really nice, too clean though. Would love some opinions on a few things from anyone who has tried it. What I have: VG33 long block swap using VG30 ECU and Accessories. VG30 "euro cams" Pace setter headers leading to a 2.5 inch exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. Stock intake Stock ECU I am wondering if anyone has increased the size of the MAF sensor and the injectors. I have done some reading in the forum with no final answers. I am thinking I should increase the size of those a long with a bigger intake to match the engine upgrades. After I have figured this out I wanted to have the ECU flashed by Jim wolf technology, hoping that can dial everything in too all the upgrades from factory stock. Any input, any other upgrades I am missing to do before an ECU flash? Thanks everyone DJ Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the input. I bought new mounts and welded the chains on, was a pain to get them lined up but finally got it. Hopefully they work well. Installing the tranny mount tomorrow. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  3. Hello everyone , happy holidays I recently installed new motor mount with my engine swap, they were Anker brand, they are shot already. Not sure if it is crappy mounts or just the extra power from my engine (vg33 with euro cams and exhaust) a long with the off reading causing the problem. Anyone have a brand to recommend? I don't want to go with solid mounts because I don't want a there to be a bunch of noise and vibration from it. I was thinking of welding chains on it to keep the mount from hyperextending like I have seen elsewhere. Pretty much I would like peoples input on solid mounts and the better brand of OE mounts. Thanks DJ. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  4. I don't think they used a locker to my knowledge, although they did have LSD diffs in a lot of them. If you look on the cover plate of your rear diff there would be an orange sticker that says LSD.
  5. Has anyone done a re mapped ecu, I saw one a while back on a website, can't quite remember it. I have been wanting to do it since my 3.3 swap, its pretty much the last thing I can do for more powder. I've wondered if it makes any sort of difference in power or mpg, of if its a waste of the $500. I think it was Jim wolfe technologies that does the tune.
  6. You found that quick. He wants quite a bit for them, even for a race rig 13k is a lot for that age and condition.would be cool to see it and see what's done to it, wish I loved closer.
  7. That's cool! Was a damn hard race. I was in Trophy Truck Spec. I raced the middle section at night. Silt was brutal, we were stuck for a total of 4 hours between the different drivers, so was everyone else though so we still pulled off a second!
  8. This thing was raced in the Baja 1000 and was wondering if anyone knew anything about his set up. I just got home today from the 1000 ( Got second!!!) And have the itch to take my pathy to do the norra 1000. http://nismostuff.blogspot.com/2010/04/baja-winning-nissan-pathfinder-rides.html?m=1
  9. I'm not sure about the years. My 91 had it. You have to buy the special electric shocks that were wired at each corner. Your best bet would probably be to get rancho 9000 9 stage adjustable shocks. They are adjusted on the can of each shock. You can also buy a lot on eBay to adapt the shocks to air and control it inside the cab.
  10. Hmm never heard of using water. Interesting. Let's us know if your problem is fixed. Good luck!!
  11. Yeah lower control arm. The bushing on the rearward side goes bad and messes up your alignment.
  12. Good work keep us updated! Don't forget to check those strut rod bushings, the bushing on the front lower arm rear mount. They can really mess up your ride.
  13. I could be wrong, I think the supercharged one will need the vg33 wiring from the donor vehicle, it will be a full swap instead of doing just a long block (which is what I did without a supercharger) that will require quite a bit more work.
  14. Hey can't type much out cause I am working. The VG33E bolts up fine. It's a 3.3 liter so 0.3 liters bigger, (10%) use the search function for vg33 swaps. There is a lot of methods. I have done the swap and really liked it so far. There is a few people doing other engine swaps as well, they take a bit more work.
  15. Cool keep us updated on your build! Did you use a crank adapter to use the stock accessories?
  16. I used the crank adapter. All the VG33s need the adapter if you want to use your current accessories. If you want to go through the effort of re adapting all the new accessories than you keep the vg33 setup. I used the adapter and it made my swap a lot easier. Like the guy above me said, if you pull the crank and get it machined it can fit the old pulley.
  17. Hello, I am going to have a new exhaust made up, my stock exhaust is tired and muffler has a grapefruit sized hole in it, I am wanting to go up in size to 2-2.25 all the way back. I already have pacesetter headers installed. Where I have it register smog checks are not required so I don't have to worry about that. Do you all think It would be beneficial to remove the cat? Or would it cause too much of a loss in back pressure? What muffler would you all suggest? From all the reading I have been doing a flow master 40 seemed like a good choice. I don't want it to be crazy loud, just sound good and wrap up nice when I Rev it out. I have also installed a vg33 if that makes a difference.
  18. The LSD rear end is different, you can't swap the assembly into the open diff. That's why you can't put lockers in the LSD diff because they can only fit the open diff. Your option for better rear traction is to do a full rear end swap if you want an LSD or get a locker of some kind. mechanical lockers are cheaper and are engaged whenever you are propelling the car forward, of you let off the gas it unlocks, this allows you to turn and drive on the highway. Downfall is it burns up your tires quicker due to them chirping all the time on pavement. Positives is it is cheaper than an ARB locker, which is powered by air and can be engaged and disengaged whenever you press the button. Those are your best options for rear traction, an LSD helps a lot, I have been using up until now, (just finished a swap to a lockrite mechanical) but when that wheel goes in the air you still lose all forward bite, you can use the ebrake sometimes to help equalize it though.
  19. Hello everyone, I just took a road trip to Texas too pick up a fellow forum member's Pathy. This Pathy has a installed Lockrite locker. I want to move this to my pathfinder. His Pathy: 1995 LE, Converted to Manual tranny, Tag on fender states it has 4.6 final gears, Disc brakes, LSD diff housing My Pathy, 1991 SE, Manual Trans, Tag on my fender say 4.3 Final Gears, Disc Brakes, LSD Diff housing I want to know if I can just dis assemble his rear end and only use the locker. I want to keep my rear end because I feel its in better condition and I don't want to convert to a different gearing because I really like the 4.3. Will this locker still be compatible with my rear end or will I just have to swap the rear end and change front gear to a 4.6 in order to use this locker. Thanks for your help! DJ
  20. I bought a OBDII Bluetooth adapter ($25) and the torque pro app on the Android store. Pretty fun app to play with, looks like it does what this does plus more.
  21. I have the adjustable Rancho 9000 on mine with a 3in calmani SL. I like the the rears are nice, I feel like the drinks are a bit soft for hard off roading even when cranked up to 9. For daily driving I have them at 7 front and 5 rear when I am emptier. When I have my gear or out of roading I am at 9 all the way around. With the rear feeling good. That is with 33" BFG KM2s
  22. I was wondering the same thing. I have a 3.3 swapped in, still using my 3.0 ecu and accessories. That was a nice difference for sure. Would be cool to add a SC and a tune. Nefarious what exhaust did you go with? I have pacesetter headers and a stock exhaust right now.
  23. That was my other plan. Chop most out and have a lighter 4x4. I wish I could put my peppy 3.3 in it from my pathy with a lot less weight it would rock!
  24. Did you replace the fuel filter also? On the right front wheel well next to the exhaust manifold and relays. About the size of half a coke can.
  25. Hello everyone. My buddy just rolled his stock 93 XE. 150k miles. I have my own pathfinder and love it. Have done a lot of work to it. Anyway. I bought this scrapped pathy, all looks straight except the body. I was thinking it would be cool to cut the back off just behind the rear seat. Then build the frame to accept a hardbody bed on it. So I would have a 4 door pickup. Any thoughts on that? Had anyone seen one? Other ideas to do to this pathy? Thanks!
