  1. Glad you like it, it works well for sleeping two people and is a nice organization option.
  2. Manuel is just the name of my transmission, I try to keep everything named for easy identification.
  3. OK that's good. Then hopefully this tranny will work. Hopefully the WD21 2wd has the same gearing also.
  4. Does anyone know of the 2wd tranny is the same as 4wd? I don't want to let this good deal go. Thanks!
  5. I found a good deal on a 2 wheel drive wd21 tranny, will that be the same or require a lot of part swaps?
  6. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000FGIBYQ/ref=pd_aw_fbt_auto_img_3?refRID=1596R9V9G7VJDXZJ2RWQ I used this. Fits so darn perfectly between the shift boot and little tray thing below the e-brake. The center coin holder let's the e-brake handle drop right in. It fits snugly, never moves, I didn't use the screws or strap it came with, just nudged it in there and it stays. I would post a pic but my inside isn't functional since I'm swapping the tranny today. I bought it at pep boys I think. It doesn't stand out, doesn't look cheesy, and holds our damn drinks!!!
  7. OK sounds good. So I will be looking for a newer one hopefully. Do they all have the same gearing? Are the transfer cases the same also? Thanks for your help.
  8. Hello, I was on my way home yesterday after picking up my new 33" KM2s that I mentioned in another thread. Which are sweet. Well with one problem gone another has shown up. I went to back out of a parking spot and i can no longer get into reverse. I am a standard transmission. 380k miles on it so i am sure it is worn by now anyway. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I can use all forward gears without problem. 4th grinds a bit going into it but that has been going on for a while and is subsided by double clutching. The shifter will not move into reverse. It feels locked out. I have tried every combo of shifting, 4x4, clutch, rolling, and got no changes. I have removed the shifter and moved the linkage inside the tranny in to every gear but still refuses to enter reverse. Any ideas on this? I found one other thread from a few years ago with no outcome on his problem. Which transmissions are interchangeable into this pathy? in case my fate is to get a new one. Thanks for everyone's help!
  9. Hello, This Forum has helped me a lot so I wanted to post my own how to on how I built a bed in the back of my WD21. This bed is always in the back of my pathfinder, it seconds as a shelf where I store my recovery stuff under it and misc items on top. I have had it in the back for about a year and have slept on it quite a bit, usually with 2 people. I know you can removed the rear seats and go that route but I wanted to leave my vehicle entirely functional when not being slept in. If i needed to fit people in the back while out on a trip I can. This is entirely removable with no dis assembly by one person. It takes about 3 min to assemble. Can be done drunk (Not that I know). Fits two people comfortably combined weight of 340lbs. The bed does not move or shake, stays nicely stable. I go 4x4ing quite frequently, This shelf is usually supporting probably 50lbs of stuff on these trips. It has not shown any sign of coming loose or not handling the load. It does not make noise in the back, and it has left a nice pine smell in the vehicle, which i actually like. http://imgur.com/a/kKAZf Some additional notes. 1 The fold out pieces can be made longer, doing this will cause the front seats to need to be further forward. I designed mine to long enough to sleep on and short enough so I could drive the car if needed. 2. The Main shelf can be made longer also. This is at the expense of having the rear seats leaned further forward during normal daily use. I left it so the rear seats were comfortable and still had good length. 3. The dimensions of the sleeping area is 4'3 1/2' wide, 6'1 1/2' long, and about two feet of room between the board and the headliner. The head room is perfect as is and allows a pretty spacious sleeping area. I have used a 2 person air mattress on top of this and the head room is doable, but a bit of a struggle to get in and out. Let me know if anyone has any questions!
  10. 380,000 miles. Very proud of it. Got it for free. Just swapped the original engine after it finally let go and put in a 3.3. Very happy with it!
  11. That looks awesome. Do you have a body lift and suspension? How much trimming did you do?
  12. OK cool. I don't really want to do a body lift if I don't have to because I don't see any other point other than fitting bigger tires. It's not a DD so the loss in fuel economy isn't to bad. Need to get new rims though it sounds like to achieve the back spacing.
  13. OK cool. Good looking rig BTW. I was thinking they were pretty wide but didn't want to pass up a good deal. I think I will try out 33x10.5 and see if I can shove them in there. Did you regear it?
  14. I figured I needed new wheels, do you think 33 KM2 that wide will fit with a proper wheel? Brian I don't think your reply come through just a quote of my post.
  15. Hello everyone. I have a 1991 4x4 with a 3.3 swap and a 5 speed. Currently with some bald 30x9.5 cheapo all terrains I got a good deal on some brand new 33x12.5x15 Bfg KM2s. I have Lego wheels and a 3in Calmani suspension lift with a grassroots centerlink, Pitman arm brace and steering stabilizer. Do you think these tires will fit on my pathy without rubbing on the legos? Do I need some different back spaced wheels to work better? I know an 8 in wheel is ideal and when I get some eventually I want to get the correct dimensions. I am sure I am going to lose most of the power that I gained after my engine swap, gonna be a bummer so I will probably have to research regearing it eventually. Thanks for everyone's input
  16. Mr.510 was very helpful in my swap. The crank adapter worked like a dream. I finished my swap last week! Runs Great! I also bought the revisioned alternator bracket that he offers so I didn't have to fab that up. Swap was great! Still have to work out a bug because the alternator and bracket are against the oil filter.
  17. Hey thanks for getting me in contact with David! I got my crank adapter a couple days ago, I am now getting ready to do my swap, got the old one out and gonna attempt to do some work to my 3.3 before dropping it in. The crank adapter was $85 I believe.
  18. Kinda bouncing off the current topic sorry. Has anyone figured out a way to buy Mr 510's crank adapter? I have searched ebay and found nothing. does anyone have one they would sell?
  19. Hello everybody! I know this is asked a million times, i have done a lot of searching on a few different forums on the 3.3 swap. I still have a couple questions before i proceed. I have a 1991 4x4 SE, had 370,000 miles on my old engine, i am damn impressed. I got the car 2 years ago for free. I love it! on my 220 mile commute to work last month it started a tick noise, i pulled over right away to inspect, the ticking increased to a knock which kept increasing in only a couple min. I haven't yanked the engine yet but i am pretty sure its going for retirement. I have been wanting to do a swap for the increased power and now is the time. I have a few questions before i decide how doable it is. There is a few variations of the swap and I'm not sure which way to go so let me give you the questions and maybe you can lead me with the proper route. I want to keep the AC bolt in how it is, i know that can be a problem with a certain swap. I have read about a crank adapter, will that aid in me being able to cleanly swap my accessories on my car to the 3.3 long block? is it better to take a 3.0 crank and put it in the 3.3 with machine work? after the machine work will it be good to go? or do i need to have the 3.3 crank machined to match the 3.0? I might be backwards from what I have read, if i machine the crank to match, i can move everything to the 3.3 including the AC without any mods. I have read about different oil filter configurations, what is best for my swap? few other side questions, Can anyone recommend a decent clutch for the money? I was thinking of doing headers, is it better to install them with the engine or can i do it at a later time? As you can tell i am trying to do as bolt in a possible but get an upgrade in since i am here so i can get this back on the road and do some camping and hit some trails. Thank you very much everybody! Thank you for the help! If it matters, i want to use it for 4x4ing, hills and trails, I am also gonna use it for some towing when I get some other stuff done to it to make it tow worthy.
