  1. Anybody heard from fleurys in a while? Looking into a simple strut spacer lift and saw that his website isn't up anymore.
  2. As I recall, they worked fine for disassembling the set so I could remove the old strut. On reassembly I just couldn't get them compressed enough to get the bearing into position and bolted in. I may try again this time just to avoid waiting on a shop to do the work. Not optimistic though.
  3. Part of the reason I asked is that I'm experiencing the same thing on my QX4. After installing the OME medium rate springs (which I think are specified at .5" of lift), there's a significant rake with no other changes. I've already received new front springs to install as well, just need to find the time to pull the strut assemblies and pay somebody to swap them for me. Last time I tried with a set of basic home use coil spring compressors I wasted several hours before giving it up and taking it to a shop.
  4. Is it possible that the rear springs have been replaced but not the fronts? That would explain the massive difference in height. I'm curious if just swapping the spacers for the lift coils would level it. 2" lift vs worn factory springs could easily explain a 3" or so difference between front and rear.
  5. I don't see how it's possible for a spacer lift like that not to lift the truck precisely the amount specified. You didn't install replacement rear coil springs around the same time, did you?

  7. IIRC they're actually under a lifetime warranty and the dealer will replace them for free.
  8. You can run 87, but the VQ35DE can monitor for knock and advance timing accordingly. Performance is noticeably improved with higher octane. To me at least, it's worth the difference.
  9. What code is it actually throwing, and does it start/run/drive normally?

  11. You should be able to just break off the cotter pin with a pair of needle nose pliers. Worst case, just drill it out.
  12. I don't believe 4-6mpg, but certainly it's an abysmal influence on your CD. The larger concern IMO is that you're adding all that weight at the highest point of the vehicle. It would be one thing to do it as needed for an occasional trip when you know it's there. A little different when it's always there and you may have to make an emergency maneuver.
  13. Jacking from the differential is almost always a bad practice.
  14. Yep, per Rock Auto the stock pads are ceramic Akebono's. Either ACT691 or ASP691.
  15. If it doesn't leak I wouldn't worry about it. I'll replace the crush washer as needed, but certainly not every time.
  16. Assuming the R50 Pathfinder is just like the QX4, there's a shield under the front of the engine that hides the belts, oil filter, etc. You'll have to remove that, then you'll have direct visibility of everything you need.
  17. Not at all sure on this (not really an off roader) but my impression was that you could resolve that by light application of the brakes.
  18. Pretty sure this isn't true. Friction modifier is used to make the LSD action more transparent to the driver (less chatter), not to improve traction. It should actually make it slip more easily.
  19. The QX4 specifies premium fuel, is this not the case on the VQ in the '04 Pathfinder? I realize the VG in your 97 doesn't require it.
  20. Agreed. This sounds like a clear cut case of the booster losing vacuum.
