  1. Not sure how often you're engaging 4hi, but did you make sure to back up a few feet to get the hubs to disengage?

Do it! Makes every bit of sense to me...
  3. Gotta put one more 21 in the 50 mix!
  4. Thanks for the tips. I'll check out the compressor wheel further. If I do need to replace the compressor I will have it professionally drained and filled. Thanks again.
  5. My A/C compressor wheel bearings are making a knocking noise, the air works great. Is it possible to just rebuild or replace the bearings or does this mean a new compressor? Thanks!
  6. Ha! This was my little brothers favorite song, and at 6'8" 250lbs he sold it well.
  7. They have a problem with coolant leaking into the tranny fluid. The trans lines run through the radiator to warm the fluid. A common fix is to bypass the stock cooler and add an aftermarket one, check this thread http://www.thenewx.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25955
  8. You have fast fingers there Trog!
  9. Look into Rockford thermoplastic replacements. They are substantially better than stock. http://www.rockfordcv./rcvboot.htm
  10. And sand! 4hi in the sand...
  11. 4lo is not about power, it's about control, and preserving your drivetrain. Regardless of which type of transmission you have, 4lo is usually the right choice on the trail if you need 4wd. Exceptions are certain muddy situations where wheelspin and momentum are helpful, and snow on the highway. 4lo requires much less clutch work in a manual, and is easier on a torque converter in an automatic. Mechanical slippage is the enemy. It also preserves your brakes while descending hills.

  13. I used a parts cleaner tank. Just soak them in degreaser of some sort over night. There are two boots, inner and outer, both are one piece. The Rockford replacement boots are very high quality.
  14. Don't drill them, they should bolt up without any modification. Take lots of pics and return them.
  15. Maybe drop a note to PNWX on Facebook. They are primarily in that area. Once you get pics up I will get them over there.
  16. Right height, simple setup, I really look forward to seeing this build completed!
  17. I've got two years wheeling with a lockrite/open setup. In the dry or snow it's awesome. Slick mud it is a little limited. Just lock the rear, get a decent tire and wheel it. Then see if you really need to upgrade the front.
  18. Nope, but you can adjust the ride height in the front with the torsion bars.
  19. My thoughts in this, not having done the swap... Not worth it. Only real reason to mount a spare on the rear of the truck is if it is too big to fit the stock location. People have been complaining forever about crawling around in the mud to lower the spare from underneath the truck. Drive out of the mud hole, change your tire. What does happen everyday? Moving the tire carrier to put your groceries away. Constant rattling from the carrier... I'm sure there are many instances offroad where it's very convenient to have the swing out carrier, I just think the cons outweigh the pro's in this case.
  20. I shouldn't have posted that, it sucks here, rains 45ft a month, sideways... Stay away :-)
  21. Honestly, if you weren't happy with the other AT's you should consider stepping up to a MT. Without a lift or locker, tires are going to be the biggest factor in offroad performance. Does your rear diff have the LSD sticker on it? If money is a factor for tires, consider treadwrights. People greatly exaggerate the downsides of MT's, I've happily daily driven KM1's and 2's for the past 5 years.
