So I found it. It's a gas leak and a big one. I checked it before and there was nothing but now its leaking. It's the 2" hose that connects the two fuel rails together right under the dist cap. Was really hard to see under all those wires but its leaking pretty good. Hopfully that's all of them. Guess its time to replace all the gas line. Just glad its something simple. Thanks for all the help on this guys.

Thank you Sir
With my body lift it makes it easier to check those gas lines. I watched the filler hose and no leaks. It doesn't smell like gas in the back of the truck so I doubt its the fuel pump seal. The evap canister ill have to take a look at. Hopfully one of the lines popped off or is ripped real bad. If so that wouldn't cause the engine light to come on?

Hey guys wanna see if I can pick your brain on this one. The other day I smelt gas really bad so i took a look and found it leaking from the hose that's comes from the fuel filter to the hard line just above the pas side valve cover. I fixed that and no more leaking. Now a few days later I started getting another gas smell but not straight gas more like the truck was running rich. So yesterday I decided I would change the plugs to see if that might help. The old plugs where a whitish grey color I can post a pic later. After I did that I checked my dis cap and rotor and they where pretty crusty so after Sanding those down I popped them back on. I decided to crawl under it to see if I could find anything interesting and only found that under my pas side vlave cover was a bit wet. But it was oil come to find out my valve cover was loose. Got that all tight and started her up. I started it up and the exhuast smelt funny kind like a stink bug lol but after it idled for a bit it cleared up and ran fine and no smell of gas and the exhuast didn't have a smell. I took it for a drive and got on it here and there and everything seemed fine. Got back home and couldn't smell gas or anything. So I headed to work this morning and on my way I turned on the heater and started to smell it again. Pulled up to work and one of the guys said he could smell it to as soon as he got out of his truck a couple spots away. The truck runs good and there is no check engine light I have no clue what could be cuasing this.
Anyone have a clue to might be wrong.
Thanks
Ryan

Thank you and does anyone know if the upper arms are the same as the 2x4 uppers from a hardbody? They look alot uh like. I have some laying around that I have already beefed up for a bagged truck. Would save alot of time and $ ill try and to get them side by side and see if I can use those.

I have searched and searched and can't find the thread with the pics I'm looking for. I know there is some pics floating around in here of some stock upper arms and aftermarket arms side by side. Can some one post a link here or some pics of them. Wanna see if the lift arms are longer then the stocks or are they just angled up?

That's a cool way to do it madmax. I stayed after work to work on a shield seperater piece for the filter. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out for a hours worth of time on it. Still have to deburr the sheet metal then blast it and spraypaint it. I'll run it for awgile till I figure out if my plans are going to work. I want to run a ram air setup. I will post pics of it tomorrow

Hmmmm yeah I have nothing. At idle i pop the hood and rev it up and nothing. Maybe its the filter.

I dont hear anything. And when im driving down the rd i dont here anything but my MT's humming lol but sitting still theres no whistling or nothing

does any body do a 1/10th scale body ??
I am going to get one made for my 1/10 truck that i have setup very similar to our pathys. But there use to be a older kyosho body but it was 1/6 scale and they are very pricy 1k and up. The other option is RC4wd they make one but it doesnt even look like a pathfiner its very ****** looking. They did have something in the works back in the day and i asked them about it last year and they said there no longer going to do it. Thats why im going to get a custom built one out of stryne from a member on the rc forum. Prob be around the $300 range.
RC4wd pathfinder body.

Wonder if they make a shell that would fit an xmods chassis fairly close... I'd love to build a little mini RC of my truck, not that I would... Too cheap
The body im using now should fit on the x mod chassie. I have a xmod and can take some pics for you. I have some pics i found awhile back but not 100% sure its the same body as mine. The fenders look a bit different.
I have a 4x4 xmod with all the after market parts and they are ok not a losi micro. You could easily buy the pathfinder model and find a way to stick it on the losi crawler. They even make scale chassies but the leafs are plastic and doent flex that much so prob just link it. I went my way becuase i like the challenge and it looks alot more scale to me. My xmod is sitting in a box with the ford body. I have the aftermarket body kit, susp, motors, gears, wheels ect. It does have the 4x4 kit on it but you will have to buy another one becuase one of the front drive axles are missing. If you want it we can make a deal? Its been sitting for along time and i dont use it. If not now that im looking at it a nice landrover or range rover would look good on it with its susp setup.

LOL yeah its a blast to play with. I really like taking it in the mud lol the tires are a little to hard for rocks but it does ok. Im wanting to build a bit bigger in scale Nissan hardbody and ill then be able to use rc4wd tires that will be more scale and softer then model tires and it should perform alot better on rocks.
-
I didnt take it in a bad way. Im open to your guys thoughts. All the similar threads and pics i have seen show a custom built bracket to mount the filter too. The way i did it you dont have to. And i would rather have my intake setup this way rather then my tube about to brake and crack open.

Hey guys i have some videos for you of the micro pathy mudding lol. The frist few vids was its first outing and real test run so it wasnt performing so good. I relised i had to add more weight to it becuase it was so light and it helps the susp move and flex better plus it makes the tires grip better. I also had to trim some of the wheel wells and some stuff hanging down on the under carriage. I still have some issues with the sterring setup up but its working better then before.

Ok cool and thanks yeah i would like to make a little sheild box then have the vents on the hood ramming air into it while driving.
-
Hey Tugsten what would the difference be? If anything i wanna say it runs better and doesnt have to suck as hard to get air. The tubes coming off the box didnt seem like they where getting really good access to air.

A old guy from north AZ drove 4hrs to come pic up a trailor full of pathy parts from me.
I bought some wheels a couple months ago and decided it was time to mess with them. I had to fix a couple of spots along with polishing them back to life. Well the polishing didnt go so well so i found a pro that could do it for me.
Yesterday morning the wife wanted me to go yard selling with her and the little one so i tagged along. I picked up some 33 Pro Comp MT's from a lady for $50. I dont think that was a bad deal? I plan on running them to see how i like the 33x12.50 and then ill sell my 31s and put that $ into new tires or a susp lift. I would like to run 33x10s i like the looks of a tall narrow tire so i will have to do some research and see who makes that size MT tires
I also put a new filter setup on my pathy
Went from this
To this

Yeah the way the filter box was it was sucking air from under the hood. I dont understand how alot of people say they have a cold air intake when there filter is sucking hot air from there engine bay. Just becuase there is a chrome tube they say its a cold air intake. Its olny cold till the engine heats up lol.

Took the woody out to a spot where we take the rc crawlers out to play. Over time the path getting back there has gotten worse but its not to bad. I managed to get pics and video but the video sucks becuase the gopro makes it look like i was on flat ground and my computer wont let me edit it so im oly posting pics.
-
I plan on cutting my plastic vent inserts on the front of my hood for more air flow and the driver side i will end up fabbing up some sort of air box that will act like a ram air setup.
-
When bolting the maf back up you will see you will have to have two shorter bolts.
This is where its going to get interesting for you. luckily i had some brackets laying around and was able to use one. After twisting it to my needs it fits really nice in there. I did have to remove one of the factory brackets to allow the filter to sit down in the whole.
And thats it.

Hey guys figured i would post these pics up. Not sure if this would be considered a cold air intake. I know alot of guys weld up adapter plates and do the same thing but i didnt feel like pulling my welder out and i dont have time at work to fab one up. So hopfully this can help the guys that dont have access to a welder.
I installed a 3" body lift on my pathy and after it was done i then relised the tube going to my factory airbox was in a major bind and stretching. So after a couple mins of looking at what i had i came up with this.
This is the inside of the top section of the air box
There is two rivet like peices that hold the goldish plate on. I blended the one that you can get to from inside the box. The other one i had to drill the back side of it. Once those are out of the way it should come out pretty nice.
After i got it out and started looking at it and my filter i got from my local autozone for $25. The filter comes with adapters i ended up using the 3 1/2" one. The metal plate is curved out and wouldnt want to fit into my adapter so i made some releave cuts into the ring every 1" then bent those down to fit in the filter. I dont have pics of this but its fairly easy and it seals good and tight.

Hey guys thanks for the help. After talking to my Dad more about it he said when he bought it they bought it with tow package. So it was rated for 6,000 and i went and picked up the uhual and loaded my little Hardbody on it and it squated that pathy pretty good lol. But after talking more with the guy that had the bug he had a pretty crazy story about how he didnt have a title so i backed out of the trade till he can get one.

Hey guys need a little help here. This is my Plan B that will most likly be happining. Im getting rid of my 88 nissan hardbody (single cab 2 wheel drive short bed pickup lowered) and im trading it for a vw bug thats also hammered more then the truck. If i cant find a deisel to pull it with im looking at using my parents 2007 pathfinder with a v-6 Auto with a towing hitch Not bumper ball mount. I believe the hitch is rated at 3,500lbs. My trip is 186 miles one way all flat dessert roads no big hills. Will my parents pathy have any problems pulling the truck on the trailor? The trailor i plan on using is not quit a car trailor but they use it to haul rhinos and quads to the dunes and its long enuff and wide enuff to fit my truck.
Another option is to rent a U-Haul dolly and it says on there i must remove my drive shaft on the truck is that really necessary to do so?(Truck is hammered and will be a bitch to get under there and and unbolt and re bolt it when i get there so he can test drive it) Or is the U-haul just covering there ass? Never used one before and there web site says that my two trucks pathy and hardbody are not allowed for there car hualer.
Any help and thoughts on these questions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks Guys

you shud go into production bud ....... . ive got a model teranno that i havent made yet and im thinking thinking of doing the same !
There is alot of guys building micro rc trucks out of model bodies and the losi micro crawler. Im just the first to build it with the pathy body that i know of. You should try and build one but i will tell you its hard to work on them due to the size and it took me alot of mini fabbing to get the susp to work right with the stock model frame. You could use make a custom frame out of plastic or some guys use brass and braze it together. There is also companys that make mini chassies that use plastic leafsprings but im not sure how it would fit under this body.
Balln,
Ur a bastard!
Just kidding, I'm just jealous of your toy! I've been wanting to do up a Pathy for years. I saw a Pathy body @ a hobby shop anout 10 yrs ago, but didn't have the money to get the RC. Maybe some day. Looks SWEET!
LOL its ok and thanks. Yeah you should build one there a blast to play with.
So i have to do a update here soon with pics. I got it finished up and painted. It still needs some trimming in the front becuase the tire likes to bind up when it gets stuffed into the well. But i took it to the side of the house to play on the rocks for the first time but what i found was way better. Water and what does water and dirt make??????????? Thats right MUD lol I couldnt resist so i dipped off into it. It didnt do so good becuase all the wait is in the rear but now that i know i can fix that and my tires are model tires so there kinda stiff and got packed pretty good with mud. I did happen to shoot some video with my phone but when i played it on my computer there was no sound. And i also dont know how to post vids?
Pics coming
