  1. Got them installed yesterday. http://youtu.be/iQgEmT6zB5o When I got the car back, it had some idle problems (erratic idle and dying). After driving it around a little today, everything is peachy. I'm wondering if the ECU is just learning how to deal with the headers. I did get a CEL. I need to figure out how to pull the code. Since it started driving better, I'm hoping it just goes away.
  2. @edicer2 - That's the one I saw. Looks really nice!
  3. I can't find pictures right now, but I've seen people install them in front of the arm rest by the brake. Its hard to imagine but the pictures help. I agree - I've been thinking of pulling the armrest out all together to make room and just put a nice boot around the e-brake. I figure I can get some sort of cup holder solution in there if I just think about it long enough...
  4. Man - I feel like I've taken a lot of time if I put in more than an hour... Looks awesome. What does the clay do exactly? Do you rub it on the paint or dab it?
  5. I replaced the housing on mine. The new housings have a plastic lens vs glass, but a ton more light gets through. I used just stupid lights from O'Reily's. I imagine an HID conversion or something would improve lighting even further. Another thing to check is the aim on your headlights. Sometimes, if they're angled too much toward the ground, the ground looks bright right in front of you but you can't see stuff far off.
  6. Searched and found this: http://www.nissanpat...s-on-a-95-vg30/ I hope it helps. Also - I don't mean to hijack, but does anybody know if advancing the timing (like reddeath appears to have) is actually beneficial? I have an SR20 with the timing advanced a few degrees and I actually get slightly more power on top and good enough gas mileage to make the premium gas pay for itself.
  7. My Dad kept a Tercel on the road for 240k (carburated) with Seafoam in his gas. It was the only way he'd pass emissions. I guess the theory is it helps burn more of the fuel - making your emissions super clean. It was the temporary solution we needed to keep the car on the road until we could get a different one. I'm not sure why you'd run it in your crank case. I'd expect it would just thin out your oil.
  8. Looking good. Keep it up. You should make an awesome burnout video of your tires before you swap them. )
  9. Looks good. I've always wondered if you could do that. Thanks for sharing. Also - did you rhino-line your car? If so, do you have other pictures of it? I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I'm getting tired of branches and crap scraping paint off my car.
  10. I haven't opened them yet. I don't remember which ones I ordered. I ordered them in June or July some time and they had to manufacture them.
  11. @JamesRich Heh - I was kind of hoping for the same thing. I guess this is the first batch DT has built for a few years - I hope I don't have any problems. My new studs wont get here until next week so I have at least until then.
  12. I'm stoked. Yeah - I'm planning to do intake/cams/ecu when I do the timing belt. I need to decide between the JWT and Nismo cams. That'll likely come in the spring when its warmer though.
  13. Got these through Rugged Rock's group buy. They just arrived a few days ago. I just ordered some new studs from Nissan ($41.00 roughly). I hope I can get these installed before the snow starts to fly. I'm also hoping on getting the stock exhaust replaced and a Flowmaster 50 installed. I'm going for a more mellow tone - I still want to hear my music.
  14. I don't know how I missed the pin in the Garage section. That was the first place I looked. Thanks guys!
  15. Hey all - hopefully this is quick. I remember seeing a thread here somewhere that had a list of the oil types and measurements (clearances and quantities). For the life of me, I can't find it. Searching the forum for 'oil' and related terms as you can imagine returns an avalanche of results. Anybody know where this is? Am I crazy - does it really exist? Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for the pointer. It seems as though he's still trying to get his kits put together and manufactured though. Honestly, whoever can give me a price and let me order one first gets the money. I really need to get this fixed and can't wait much longer.
  17. Just saw this... thought I was subscribed to my own thread, but wasn't... I'm still game. What do I need to do to make an order? Just buy them on the site? Also, I'm assuming these bolt up to the stock exhaust...
  18. Did this ever go through? I called Steve back in February/March and got on his list... he said he had some people, but was waiting for more before making an order. I'm open to other options - I've been waiting a while and need to replace these headers so I can get my truck past emmissions.
  19. I just had my CV axles replaced and I still have ticking in the front if I turn really sharp and go over bumps... I have no idea what it is.
  20. Thanks for the excellent information. This will hopefully save me a lot of trouble in the future. I sold an RX8 to get this truck and have a deal with my wife to take my usual car payment and basically build it out. As I get into more engine work, I'll likely be depending on this forum more. I've found some good info and some people that have done almost exactly what I want to do. I'm pretty stoked about it and will keep everyone posted as this progresses.
  21. Yep. When I swapped out the starter day before yesterday, I was removing the heat sheild from the manifold and the stud closest to the firewall on the passenger side dropped right out. I've spent a few hours here since, reading about various gotchas (manual tranny apparently needs to be overfilled somehow for example). I'll need to get an extractor and replace as many studs as I can. I've read about some people using replacement studs from other cars because they're made from a different grade of steel. Is that worth the trouble or should I just get the stock studs?
  22. I just spoke with Steve on the phone - my earlier post was pre-mature. Steve is trying to put together another batch for order right now. He's got a list with a few people on it, but would like to get 2-3 more if possible. If anybody else wants to buy headers, this would be a good time to do it. Plus it would help me get a set.
  23. Thanks for the tips. I checked out Rugged Rocks and gave them a call. I'm hoping to hear back soon. Their site says they are expecting a batch of DT Headers on the 4th, so I may have just lucked out. Is there anything weird about installing headers on these cars? My Sentra for example needed a modified EGR tube.
  24. My exhaust manifold is cracked and wont pass emmissions. I'm looking at headers to replace it. I can find Pacesetter headers in stock at Jegs and other places. I've got a Pacesetter header on my Sentra but it didn't fit right and was a pain to install. Does anybody have experience with these? Does Doug Thorley still make headers for this car and are they worth the extra $300? Other header recommendations?
