  1. Even though you have the 4x4 parts skid you can still cut out a square and make your own access panel for it just 2 pieces of flat stock 2 bolts with nuts welded to flat stock and some time.
  2. also just remember that the number 1 coil pack is different than all the rest dont know why but just another one of lifes ponderables
  3. are those your oem rims for the pathy if so what year is your pathy
  4. i just cleaned my maf and didnt get the plug fully seated i guess and my 01 did the same thing. so i checked the plug and cranked her back up and so far so good so good luck with yours
  5. my 2001 has 185k and still kicking strong
  6. a 3 should cover it. basically jack it up and put jack stands under the frame high enough where the rear suspension is fully suspended and the rear tires are off the ground. remove rear wheels. then take the airbags squeeze the air out. you may have to enlarge the hole in the bottom of the spring perch i did on my 01 dunno bout 03. slide the deflated airbags in between the coils. connect the airlines then route them whereever you want them and mount the inflation valves where you want. then inflate to 35psi wait 5-10 min check for air leaks. remount wheels, lower the car back down then reduce the air in the bags to no less than 5psi and hit the road.
  7. x2 on the airlift. so far it has been great in my 01 pathy stiffens things up a bit and makes the drive better and i keep about 15lbs in it. min is 5 and max is 35 but i just add some more when towing. and as said before pretty easy to install. hardest part was drilling out the hole in the bottom of the spring perch for the fitting on the airbag to fit through easier. but all in all bout 1.5 hr
  8. my 01 has the same whine. its not getting better or worse. one of the guys i work with suggested since my car has 180k i could try and tighten the pinion nut just a hair. but i dunno how much that would hurt it. any estimate on cost to replace bearing since you have to completely tear down the diff
  9. yeah i have had a k&n on it for about 2 years and the codes only started to shop up about a month ago but ill go clean it and see how that does.
  10. I have a 01 pathy and Im getting a p0171 lean bank 1 and p0174 lean bank 2 codes. i wanted to get some opinions on as to what might cause that. I saw online that it might be a dirty or failing maf sensor. but i havent tried cleaning it or anything. I havent had any engine problems that i can tell. i also read it could be O2 sensor but at 100 roughly apiece i dont want to shell it out until i have a pretty close idea as to what it might be thanks
  11. yeah that would be the future plan. just making sure that i could do all of this in steps instead of haveing to get everything at once. does anyone know if there are any other companies besides air lift and firestone. im still looking around but thats all ive seen so far
  12. well it may be like 300 or so and if its not than its probably just weak springs i think the airbags will work. can you tell a good difference with them inflated as far as handability loaded and such and how is it unloaded because i dont want it to feel like absolute rock.
  13. nevermind got that answer. so would this be my best and cheapest option or just get new springs
  14. i have seen the air lift 1000 kit from 4x4parts.com, with those do i have to by the load controller. or can i manually inflate and deflate with a regular presta valve and airhose like at a gas station?
  15. i have an 01 pathy and i have a normally about 200lbs or more of tools in the rear. so the rear sags some. im wanting to get some new springs that are oem height but stiffer spring rate. does anyone know the specs on the oem rear coils. or where i can find some stiffer springs thanks
  16. Yeah I know about the window lock because if its engaged I can't roll down the rear windows from the front .
  17. ive got an 01 pathy. from the drivers seat i can roll down the rear windows but in the rear neither one of the window switches work, but... if im rolling the window down from the front and someone in the back hits their switch it stops me from rolling it down until they let up. so that tells me that that switch in the rear still works. has anyone had this problem? or does it mean that those switches need replacing?
  18. thank you thats exactly what ive been searching for
  19. any idea what it might be exactly. I know its either a charcoal evap canister or a vacuum canister but i cant find it from any advance the only thing they show is the evap at the gas tank. or better yet if anyone knows where i can find one. please let me know thanks
  20. here is the engine bay here is a close up of the cannister. The hose in the center is the one that broke off and i glued on but its breaking off again.
  21. On a 2001 pathy what is the canister that is about the size of a coke can located beside the air box called. I though it was just a vacuum canister but i cant find it anywhere in my fsm or hayes chilton or anything. Anyway i need to get another one. Today as i was going to seafoam the pathy i pulled the vacuum line off the top center of the canister and the plastic part that the hose slips over broke off with the hose flush with the top of the canister. I have tried to glue it back on but to no prevail. The line that i pulled off is the one that i belive pulls the vacuum on that canister for the other hose.........So if anyone knows what the exact name of it is or where i can get one since all the junk yards around her dont have it and advance has no idea what that part is .... i would greatly appreciate it
  22. yeah i dont remember what gear oil i used. its been a good while i just remember it was in a black bottle with green letters, not that that helps. the whine just started to be noticeable about a month ago. so i dunno what to do. i dont really want to take it to someone, if i can do it myself then i want to but if its too much then ill pay to have it done.
  23. im not sure where but i have seen some places online that sell full carpet replacement kits i dunno if they make it for the pathfinder but worth a shot. if you pull up the carpet you will def lose alot of sound dampening.
  24. my pathy is an 01 but has 160k i changed the diff fluid about a year 2 years ago. i dunno if that is too long or what but others have told me that if its not leaking at the rear end or at the wheel axle seals then it should be good for a pretty good while. the whine only appears when a load is applied. i know that sounds like that are hard to isolate but i had a friend sit in the very back and he could hear it was coming at the back so i dunno.
