oh the higway when i give just a little gas i can hear rearend wining. when i let off of the gas it goes away. i checked the fluid level and its fine so im guessing it is the pinion bearing. Has anyone changed theirs. If so how hard is it and what not. and are there any special tools that i need Thanks

ok so im not sure but with the car sitting level and maybe 80lbs in the back i have about 5 or 6in from the coil spring moung on the axle to the bottom of the bump stop. is this a normal distance or are my springs getting a little slack. If so i know i can buy the stiffer lift springs but im not looking to lift what springs would i need to stiffen things up.

since i dont know just asking when you turn on your air is the temp at 85 or 65 degrees. Try putting it at 65degrees and then turn it off and see if it still blows hot air.

alright i had a chance to get under and take a better look and what i saw was the junction block where the two e-brake cables from the rear wheels meet the single cable that goes to the e-brake handle, has broke where one of the ferruls is held in. so my question is that replaceable or do i have to replace the whole e-brake cable system. i attached the page from the fsm. thanks

yeah i looked under there but i couldnt get a good look. its been raining non stop here. but just asking if the cable broke somewhere under the chassis or strectched the brakes should not be dragging or engaged right.

i looked in the console and the cable is still attached but it definately feels like the brakes are dragging

So i was in a friends steep driveway and i pulled up my e-brake. It already needed to be adjusted a little bit as in it was about 10 clicks to the top and still did not grab very well. Anyway so i pulled the e brake and then i heard a loud clunk. All tension left the ebrake handle. so as i drive away i dont know if it was me being somewhat paranoid but it felt as though the ebrakes were still on even though the handle was down. As i figure if im correct the brakes are engaged by the wire thats connected to the handle that has a ratchet. so if the cable brakes from the handle the e-brakes would release. so i dont know. its 12am here so i havent had time to look at it to see if the cable or handle broke but i will tomorrow. so im just trying to find out if anyone else has had this problem in their r50.

sorry for that i found that post right after i posted. I had most of the manual but some of the chapters were corrupt or something thank you i appreciate it.

i'm trying to find a fsm for my 01.5 pathy. i tried phatg20.net but its not working. if anyone knows where i can get the whole manual please let me know. I have part but i need the pdf for FE fuel and exhaust but the whole thing would be best thanks

so today i ran it to the point of sputtering and pulled into the station to get gas and filled up with 20.09 so i guess that last gallon is unusable but well now i know

I didnt have the manual for my car. but the main reason i ask is from everywhere that i saw online after running for a couple of days on empty when i fill up its only like 19 ga so all this time i figured i had a 20 ga tank. I just hadnt been daring enough to try and run it out. but again thanks

ok so ive been looking all around all over the net and i'm trying to find out exacltly what the gas tank capacity is so that i can get my scan gauge right. i have seen in some places that its 19ga 20ga or 21.1ga does anyone know. thanks

I'm sorry for that as i found out that the cv boot was busted i instantly came in and posted and as soon as i did i was reading on other pages and there it was. I appreciate the info though. I just finished up the fix and it def was as easy as it said in the thread. except for bolting the lower a arm back up

yeah the cv boot is busted. There is grease all over the wheel well. I know that I could just put a repair boot on it but I dunno how long it has been without grease. Advance has a new cv axle for about 70 bucks. How much of a pain is it to get the axle out of the hub assembly

how hard or what all is involved in replacing a half shaft or cv axle on a 2001 pathy

will warn manual hubs still work on stock pathfinder wheels

i was going to download the fsm for my pathy but there are two manuals one for a 2001.0 and 2001.5 how do i tell is mine is a 01 or 01.5

ok i got a p1145 code that appears as soon as i turn on the key and when i searched the net i get that its a vtc sensor but i dont know what side. advance said that it is a mass air flow, so know i dont know what to think. if the p1145 is a vtc does someone know what side that is on driver or passenger. also does anyone know what i would have to do to check to see if the vtc sensor is bad or good thanks ashton

so today my buddy backed into me and put his trailer hitch through my front bumper. so now i'm looking at getting either a steel offroad bumper or just an oem replacement bumper. does anyone know of anywhere where i could get a oem replacement but not at oem cost. my car is a 2001 pathy

yeah to get to them you have to remove the glove box which is really easy on the bottom of the glove box are two plastic pins and you simply pull them out and the assembly will swing away. once that is out you can get the to filters. as far as buying them at autozone or something like that i'm not sure since i havent replaced mine yet but you could call and ask

yeah the only thing that i was going off of for royal purple is on horse power on the powerblock they did a dyno test with reg. oil and then with royal purple and it did improve hp and torque

to tell you the truth i havent done much research on brands but that was the first brand that came to mind since i watch powerblock every weekend. but they showed it gave some hp and torque increase
