  1. First coat of black is applied and looking good! I'll start the 2nd coat in a couple hours more hours. White and read will be installed tomorrow late afternoon. If you want to watch that process make sure you check out this link. http://alvarezmetalworks.com/?cat=271
  2. Made a bunch of progress today. Basically I sprayed a base coat of Chassis Saver to help fight off the rust issues here in NY. This is the first time I sprayed a car so it was far from perfect but I think it turned out pretty good for a base coat that will be completely covered up with Monstaliner. Normally when using this product you should apply 4 thing coats. I did one medium coat because it's just a base coat. Honestly though if I had more Chassis Saver I would have done at least one more coat for piece of mind. Anyway here are the pics. If you're at all interested in watching me paint this click on the following link. There will also be information about the gun I used and what not. http://alvarezmetalworks.com/?cat=271
  3. All the prep work is finally finished!! Tomorrow I mask it off, give it a quick wipe down to remove any dust, and start spraying Chassis Saver on all the rust prone areas. After it has 4 or 5 hrs to dry it will be time for Monstaliner! Finally lol.
  4. Made a bunch of progress. The truck is completely tore down and I'm about half way finished with the prep work before I can spray Chassis Saver on the rust prone areas. Once that's finished I'll start rolling on the Monstaliner. If you want to check out the videos here's the link. http://alvarezmetalworks.com/?cat=271
  5. And so it begins for the 91!!! Here is a before picture to get us started. As you can see I got my Monstaliner in the mail today. Here is the way she sits as of right now. If you want to see the build videos check out this link. http://alvarezmetalworks.com/?cat=271 This is a list of current plans/goals: Paint her in a 3 color Monstaliner finish Rebuild the brake system Install 16 inch steel wheels with custom welded on rocks rings Install Mud tires of some sort. I’m thinking about going with 33″ Treadwright Guard Dogs Remove and replace the entire interior with the interior out of a 94 Pathfinder. Install an updated steering system from Camini And much later down the road. Fully custom suspension with a solid axle installed up front. Install a transfer case doubler. Install winch Build new roof rack and install LED light bar. Skid plates Maybe a roll cage And this is a rough idea of what I hope she looks like when I'm finished. All the graphics will be vinyl.
  6. First off I want to see some pics of this beast!!!! Not to many WD21 Nissan Pathfinders in off road racing anymore. We need to see lots of pics!!! lol
  7. If the money is there and my truck is up to the task I'd like to go next year. That's a hell of a trip from the east coast during tornado season lol. Even if nothing goes wrong it's going to be an expensive trip.
  8. Where are you from Zack. You sound like you're from the North East where damn near every WD21 Pathfinder and D21 Hardbody are dead due to rust. I'll say this. You're going to have a hard time finding a legitimate Nissan Club to wright that letter. Not sure what type of checking the DMV does as far as checking out these clubs but I'd have to assume it's no easy task. My question to you is why? What's the point of all this? To avoid emissions? To get a cool plate? Something to do with insurance? Here is the truth. Even if that was super rare people would have to find the value in it to even bother with this. I could be wrong but I don't think a small group of hard body owners qualifies as a club according to the DMV. They may be talking about nationally recognized clubs and most likely have a list. Other wise what would be stopping you from creating your own club and typing up your own letter? I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I really think you need to look into this more. There are some extremely rare cars out there that no one really gives a crap about. Think about it. What do you think a rare low mileage first car off the line Ford Fiesta in pristine condition would fetch if it was up for sale? Value is dictated not by the owner but by the people willing to buy it. Something doesn't become a collectors item because it's rare and in great shape. It's becomes a collector item when people are actually collecting them. Outside of KoveMan (lol) who's collecting WD21 or D21 Nissans? And better yet. Who's collecting them to keep them in show room condition? Again I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm just trying to be straight up with you.
  9. He told me he's not coming back to this site. Not sure why but that's what he said a few months ago. Contact him through his website.
  10. Monstaliner vs. Dupli-Color Bed Armor with Kevlar (Bed Liner) in the "Product Reviews" area. Check it out if you're in the market for bedliner.

Not yet but this is something I do plan on trying. Not for the body though. When you roll it on it seems to give a smoother finish.

When you order it talk to Eric and see if they have something to thin it out a little for a smoother finish when spraying it. I believe they do.

  11. Yes it should be. There are moving parts in it and should be greased. I wouldn't load it down like a bearing but yes it should be lubed. The one in my 91 (The one falling apart) was very dry in comparison to the one in the my 95 (The one in the video. The good one). I wouldn't use anything harsh on plastic though. Those are the parts that fail. No need to speed up the process with a lube that will cause plastic to become brittle.
  12. I have one of those really short really floppy rubber ones (roughly a foot tall). Love it. No issues at all with hitting it while wheeling or reception. I just unscrewed my old antenna mast off the stock base and screwed the floppy rubber on on. Don't get much easier than that. However you have a retractable one and I didn't. You can see it in this picture. I forgot where I bought it. One of the local auto parts stores has them. I'd try whatever ones are in your area if you want one.
  13. It's big though (78" tall x 96" long x 24" deep) and believe it or not I don't have nearly enough of those storage bins. Once you start organizing your small parts you realize how many of those you really need. I'm not even close to what I need.
  14. To get to this point I spent somewhere around $300 but that includes every little detail including consumables, gas, and material I already had laying around left over from other projects. The only thing it doesn't include is the metal pegboard because I don't know how much that would be.
  15. Thank you. About 5 days but I wasn't in a big rush or anything. If I was to do it again and really tried to get it done fast I could have had it wrapped up in 2 or 3 days max.

  17. I had a problem with tearing rubber boots too. Plus I just hated them in general. I finally said fskc it and went out and got a vasectomy. That solved all my boot problems.
  18. No problem. I knew this one out of all the videos would be helpful. I had a number of those plastic parts broken on my 91 too. I changed out the entire system the other day in the driver's door. Need to do the other doors now. But at least I can finally lock my doors lol.
  19. How many cans did you use? Did you use the same color on everything?
