  1. Howdy, trying to identify the most likely part that failed. When trying to roll power drivers window up or down, it seizes movement and makes a grinding/whirring sound. This happens at the same spots...3 of them. It seems as though perhaps a gear is missing teeth in certain spots or something along those lines. I am going to purchase the replacement part but after looking at it and seeing a cable pulley type of assembly, I was unfamiliar with how best to proceed without replacing everything. So...I come to ask the gods of the Finders of Paths for guidance....
  2. Wassup man, and welcome. I'm a fellow Duck myself, though I reside in Southern Oregon now. Congrats on the steal of a deal, I just got a '94 SE for $1800....some people just don't know what the have. Don't know where abouts yer at but i'm getting ready to tear into mine and do all you named plus some.....friggin exhaust man....... So's if yer anywhere down south we should get together and break some '94's :cool2: Latz
  3. That is some funny s--t!!! I love how they make it seem as though it is universal in application...there's gonna be a lot of caved in door panels after this one...
  4. It sounds like your key is a simple miscut. Do you still have both parts of the broken key? If so, a locksmith can use them to copy onto a new blank. This is also useful for visual comparsion of the two keys to point out the miscut depth/spacing allowing for recut or brushing down. Otherwise just pull a door panel and get the code...it will be stamped on the lock case. Call this number in or drop the cyl off and you should be out no more than 20 minutes and $20.
  5. Ya, I'm sure about it. in fact I'm looking at my book as I type just to be sure. Although it states 00-up only it is possible that a late year 99 or 99.5 could have it.
  6. Hey there, I'm a locksmith so I thought I'd help ya out. 96-00 Pathfinders do not have a transponder chip in them, so drill away...
  7. Yeah, the stock exhaust pretty much blows donkey balls on all fronts. The severity of the exhaust leak of course determines the potential for harm to your engine. Ranges from nothing more than an annoyance all the way to major computer and/or mechanical failure. Bottom line...get it addressed ASAP if it is a direct engine leak. oh, and heat simply makes "things" expand, therefore reducing the "gap" between parts so to speak. This is only in reference to his syptoms minimizing after warm up, some get worse... A good custom shop could always build ya some headers if your willing to spend some $$
  8. Out of curiousity ever do a compression test on er? Cracks can cause the syptoms you describe at times. Perhaps not likely but common enough to consider.
  9. Most likely low fluid level, or possibly an airgap in the lines...
  10. Will be no problem...same stuff.
  11. Most definatly an exhaust leak at the manifold gasket. After warm up, gasket will become more pliable and expand, minimizing the actual leak. That's why it quiets down. From the info I'm gathering about our rigs, having newly aquired one myself...this seems to be an extremely common defect in design. Hope this was helpful, good luck.
