  1. Just curious, would going with the HD coils up front, and then combining that with a set of 2-3 inch WJ lift coils even out? I would like to save any extra $$ I can, and since the WJ coils are cheaper, think it'd work? I've heard a bunch about people using the 4inch coils in the rear to accompany a SFD, so why wouldnt it work this way too? Also, I've heard over and over again about some 1" spacers for up front. I have no clue where to find them to buy them online! Help please! With the OME HD coils up front and a spacer I'd be looking at almost 3 inches of lift, plus the 3ish inch WJ lift coils in the rear I think would level out pretty nicely. Just some thoughts I've had. Any insights will be appreciated
  2. I like those blue skid plates a lot! Where did you get them/how much were they?
  3. Hadn't thought of that.. Little too late for that now, but hey, now I know for next time right? It should hold up fine though I think. It has 3 supports along the frame rails to distribute the weight some, so that should help.
  4. He works with Wahoo Fabrication, a metalworking business he runs out of his garage. I found him on craigslist, and thought it might be a little sketchy, but when I pulled up to the place and saw crawler projects all over his front and back yard the hesitation fled pretty fast! Yes he designed them himself. For some custom sliders + install it was $175. Ive looked around and found some places that are SELLING theirs for 175 (with shipping), so I thought this was a pretty good deal. They are welded straight to the frame rails, and since I dont have any intention of removing them, thats just fine with me!
  5. Here are some pictures of what I did over my spring break last week. I found a local guy to do the welding for me and got these rock sliders on! After finding a boulder with my driver-side door panel, I realized these would be a wise investment. Too bad I didn't have 'em two weeks ago~ Before: During:
  6. Haha Yeah I guess I still need to learn how to read~ Great find on those wheels though! Most black rims I've seen are averaging 100 bucks ea. Do you know width of rim is preferred for a 31x10.5R15 tire? 8"?
  7. Just to clarify ... So with back spacing, the smaller the number, the further from the engine bay the wheel will sit?
  8. Thats a super cheap price for a set of wheels! But arent our pathys 6-lug? Looking at that link, it shows a 5 lug...
  9. Your pathy is gorgeous! About how long from start to finish did it take to do the SFD?
  10. PS. You can find O2 sensors cheap on ebay. I found one for $30 for my pathy.
  11. Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone! Its a smittybuilt that I got at a junkyard here in town. The paint job was a joke I just think she looks better covered in mud than gold paint!
  12. Hey everyone! Im excited to be here and a part of NPORA! Bought my 1997 Pathy last October, and Ive been doing projects here and there since then. Looking forward to all of your advice as I hope to make this a formidable weekend warrior. Im going to college out here, so I dont have the biggest budget, but where I can, Id like to spruce up my baby Here's what she looked like when I got her. And after a few tweaks~ Future plans include: -4" lift (SFD) -A nice set of 33s on dark rims -Interior/exterior lights -New paint job (plenty of mud will work just fine!)
  13. This information is beautiful!! Im on a college-kid budget, but want to lift my Pathy, so if this works, I would be ecstatic! Thank you all so much for your input and help! Please keep it coming! Can you tell me more about those perches? Also, will these type of coils work for the front end too?
  14. Thats good to know, thank you. Would the shocks and struts have to be a different size than the stock ones? or the same? Also, do I need longer brake lines?<br>
  15. So it'd be good to replace my rear shocks? When you say you didnt use the spacers, does that mean the stock struts are an okay length even when its lifted? Is that right? Im on a college-kid budget right now, so Im not sure how much of a mod I can afford at the moment. Would that do some damage to my rig to hold off on the new shocks for now? Heres a pic of what Ive done so far: Found this bumper at a junkyard and built some mounts for it/welded it on over Christmas break.
  16. Man! Thats quite the slick setup youve made there! Ive mounted a 3" tube bumper on my 97 pathy, and now im racking my brain trying to figure out how to mount a winch on the front... any ideas?
  17. Thanks, that helps. Would anything bad happen if I didnt replace the stock struts or shocks? Im a pretty tight budget as a college student, so eventually I would get new ones, but will holding off on them cause any problems?
  18. Slick ride man! Im looking at lifting my '97 pathy. How much of a lift did you give yours? Is that the 2" AC lift? Did you use the strut spacers? And did you switch to manual hubs? Thanks for your help!
  19. Wow guys, thank you so much for so much information!! I just bought my '97 pathy and love it! I threw on an old tube bumper I found at a local junk yard, Ive already got 31s on there, and the next step for me is to get a lift. I was looking at the lift kit : https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-suspension-lift-p-1550.html Do I need to get new struts and shocks too? Im on a college student budget, but seeing as how the stock suspension is sagging anyway, when I replace it Id love to go higher~ Do I have to get the strut spacers? Right now the front suspension is in worse condition than the rear, so I think I'd be fine leaving my rear shocks in, but if I need longer shocks, that'd be nice to know. Thanks again! You guys really know your stuff!
