  1. Does that have the picture of your car!
  2. am in web development and business operations. I currently work with a research group out of the university of british columbia helping them manage their website and education for doctors.
  3. Congrats on the wedding and the kid. It would seem that your time to get the truck finished is short.
  4. sounds like a nice truck (VIVA the R50!) but we need some pictures.
  5. This is a hard one. I bought the car a few months ago and this was the first time that I had a full load down the hill. One thing I realised was that the car dove which gives me the impression that the front was not the issue (but I will check them for good measure). I also got some vibration which I am suspecting was the drums in the back. I am not sure how to check the drugs to make sure that they are smooth though. How to I check the back breaks?
  6. So I still have the 265/70/15 on the car and last night I was coming back from a trip down what is call 'the cut' in Vancouver which is basically a steep 800 meter (1/2 mile) hill with a 40º curve at the bottom. Although his is not that bad on its own it is part of the highway and the speed limit is... actually I am not sure what it is because we all go at our own risk down that hill. The issue was that coming down the hill getting close to the bottom people decided to go from 80 km to 0 as fast at they could for no reason (common there) but my brakes started to feel loose. It scared the hell out of me because I basely managed not to park in the trunk of the car in front of me. Is there any way of beefing up the brakes for the R50 (97 SE)?
  7. Thanks piste. I have started to check out all the size differences but I have not always been able to find the actual sizes of the tires.
  8. before you buy one you should know that they are really awkward. I found that the tinted windows was a much better solution.
  9. What is more crazy is that CafePress has to get involved with enforcement if the dispute is not settled. In this case you would probably be best off contacting them and asking them what they are concerned about and in most cases you should be able to talk it out unless they are just going on a hunt and then you will probably have to comply. What I was not sure about was if you were granted rights (formally or informally) by the owner/creator of the images? If you din't and they are the owners you have to agree with them on something. If you did and they are not the owners then you have to contact them and then you have to bring CafePress into it as well so that they are aware that the take down notice is not valid. The ridiculous part of this law (the digital millennium act) that anyone can send these take down notices and groups like CafePress have to take you off line first and then ask questions.
  10. So what we are saying is that if you want a comfortable tire for the highway and city then you will have to give up traction in the mud. And if you get a mud tire then you will be less comfortable and spend more on gas not to mention noise?
  11. Just to follow up with this last few question. Not that I am an authority in anyway but I believe the gist I got from the forum and talking to people on NPORA was that the mediums would do the trick and that there was no need to go to high unless you were going to tow things.
  12. I think I saw a few places where the say the back spacing numbers I should be looking for to avoid the issues with rubbing. Especially when I put the lift in.
  13. This made me think. I have a manual transmission and I have always found that the 1st and 2nd gear are really mean for very low speeds. They feel very torquey and they are great in the mud but on the road they are slow but once you get to 3rd. I always assumed this was because it was a SE and it has the 4.6 ratio. So technically this transmission works better with larger tires such as the 265 and since they quite a bit closer to the 31' than the 235s on the other Pathfinders. I am starting to wonder if it would make more sense to wait longer before I decide what kind of tires to buy.
  14. HitTheTrail thanks for this. I went to the mud flat and got stuck! It was awesome!
  15. pathfounder: what do you mean by differences in the drive? I keep on hearing there are changes but could you tell me some of the specifics?
  16. Thanks everyone for their comments on this. It is becoming obvious that it was a legal disclaimer. The tire size is only 4.5% bigger from the 265/70/15 to the 31/10.5/15. Now I only have to decide between Duelers and Geolanders.
  17. I had the same thing a few years ago and it was the head gasket in the end. I don't thing you need too much antifreeze to mix with the oil to get the froth. I hope it is not the case for you.
  18. can we ban all the people that post here? it should cover all the potential reasons for banning someone.
  19. Not so good to hear about getting stuck but the pictures are awesome!!!
  20. skulptr: What size did you have? and what did you not like about the tires?
