  1. I add through the shifter. Its is much easier than using all the hoses and you can add as much as you want. This is How I do it. Remove shifter. Remove side plug. Fill until fluid comes out side plug Close side plug Add as required Re-install shifter Hope this helps P.S Snap ring pliers are helpful but not necessary for removing the shifter
  2. Stock wheels have more than 3.75. its closer to 5.
  3. I have'nt seen one on a Pathy break yet as they are rated for the tires and wheels they come stock with and I upgrade to manuals after I did my wheels and tires...With that said I have seen them go on a 4runner. Wasnt that big a deal. It made a ton of noise and turns out the axle shaft acctually broke. I think it is very difficult to break hubs either way you look at it. The big problem is no them breaking but when they don't engage. then you are SOL. or the fact you have no 4x4 in reverse. There are a bunch of small parts like washers and such in the auto hubs that can go wrong as opposed to a manual hub that is basically a sping that pushes the gear down onto the saft and locks it all together no matter which way you are moving. Im sold on the manual hubs and keep my auto for backup because im paranoid....
  4. Would be kinda cool and try and wire that one up to work... something unique to have. I might try it..Cant be to complicated right(last words of a sane man)
  5. Wash and wax today!!!

  6. x3 I have the MM hubs and have been better off since... It is nice to have all wheels working all the time no questions asked.
  7. I was thinking about that idler arm brace... I kinda wanted to beef up the whole system though.
  8. I know two or three up here that might be interested
  9. I like the Idea. I would do it 4 runner style or like an older bronco. I might take this idea and run with it. Thanks for sharing your ingenuity!
  10. 87 octance is dirty, can cause knock in you engine and leaves behind alot more carbon. I always use 89 for daily use. I use 92 when I go wheeling.
  11. I have also heard some pretty nasty things about sea foam. I had issues passing smog on my 88' before i registered it in HI and don't have to do it anymore. What i did to pass is this: -get a bottle of guarantee to pass stuff -fill up to 3/4 with 92 octane and mix in Emmisions pass stuff, drive till on E -put 1/4 tank 92 Octane -Drive on HWY so Cat is super hot as it does nothing unless at operating temperature -Go take test this worked for me in Seattle Good luck
  12. Can you specify a brand or the appropriate size
  13. I am also interested. I have some friends here who might go...
  14. I did this a while ago and don't know if any of this will help. -Go through the wheel well after taking the wheel off. this gave me sufficient room -Use a Punch to get your hole centered before drilling. this give you a hole for the bit to rest in(no walking) -Use a left handed drill bit (cuts when turning left) -Soak studs in PB blaster (or similar product) for at least 24 hrs prior to starting - Used the torque from the drill on the extractor it works well.... -As always go slow, use a lot of lube, and good luck
  15. I don't know what i was thinking...I have an SE. I went out yesterday to look for the fabled sticker and found only the white sticker backing remnants. I probaly wire wheeled the sticker off during maintenance and cleaning.
  16. Agreed i might do that when i get my 100 posts i need to enter....
  17. So I got my hubs for my B-day...they work great went up to the snow recently...handled like a champ(as usual). Also recently got a CB radio, new IPF lights and a new water pump and tie rod end recently. I have so much more to do. I need to learn to weld and find a D60 with Pas. side drop down Too many ideas, not enough time to write them down even... I will upload my pics soon.
  18. The other day I changed a tie rod due to the part the castle nut goes on was destroyed due to a hammer that came out of nowhere (whoops) While doing this i noticed the steering system, particularly the tie rods and connecting hardware are small and do not seem very durable. Any one have any cheap/easy upgrades or things they have done?
  19. Unlike a wife...It does what I want it too

  20. Officially confused.....and for everyones info you can shift while moving but don't D**k around with it you have to been sharp....I miss my auto hubs though. now i have to stop everytime. At least i have 4x4 in reverse now thanks to the MM. stupid the autos dont lock in reverse
  21. Anyone know anything about the big sur area
  22. My 88 doesn't have sub fuel, or a sticker on the axle. Pretty sure I have LSD due to I would get stuck much more often if not...lol it's an XE... While we are on this sort of topic what the heck does th "sport/touring" button next to the E-Brake DO???? always wondered
