  1. thanks for that ill remember that in the future. might be a good "get me home trick"
  2. I guess I was able to my swap without taking the diff. out because I have a 3" BL giving me the extra space to jack the engine up then come forward.
  3. Did the swap. Went smooth. Much more power now to. I also took the open diff axle. so now I have the option of a detroit for about 300 dollars less.
  4. Get a new flywheel or get the one you have thoroughly inspected and resurfaced. If you come across parts you need. I have all the parts from and 87 that I completely disassembled.
  5. Deifinitly do the timing belt. I would pout all new exhaust studs in while the engines out, as these can be a PITA later if needed. I dont have that sensor, mine is on the throttle body. I just went through a engine swap. I didnt have to remove cross members or my Diff. May I ask why you had to?
  6. Was it leaking from where the driveshaft hooks up? Could be a bad pinion bearing..
  7. I would pull the timing belt cover and get the timing to TDC and check all your markings. This would rule out timing. seems like we keep coming back to that. If you rule that out I would verify you ECU is functioning properly. then move on to bad grounds. This is just what I would do.
  8. Mauitrailguy BTW dont think its fair I have to compete with SAS....LOL..Just kidding. He will probably get my vote.
  9. So I have an 87 that I was parting out. Compression is 160 all around. Going to swap it in and then rebuild the current one as a spare but wit 300 zx parts. The 87 has 156xxx miles on it compared to the 227xxx on my current engine. plus no cost to me to do the swap except for some gaskets ETC.
  10. Are you still interested in the pigtail?

  11. I do have both the tail lights you inquired about. Asking 40$ each plus Shipping.

PM me with your email and we can get this rolling.

  12. Guess I just gut "Unlucky". Im thinking about just having the whole thing rebuilt. Any one have any suggestions to make it more cost efficient?
  13. How do I straighten a valve out with a screwdriver...?
  14. So heres a long story made short. The stud for the timing belt tensioner broke while running. Pathy died. I towed it home and did a timing belt and fixed the stud. Put it all back together and now....no compression on cylinders 3 and 4. All others is 180 Kpa. I have heard we have "interference" engines. Haven't taken the valve covers off and looked and whats going on. It still runs, but like @!*%. What do you guys think?
