  1. From what I understand if you have 2.25 coming out you want to continue 2.25 all the way through to preserve velocity and pressure. I am going to try and reuse the flowmaster muffler that is currently on there as it looks like they put a reducer on in it to get it to fit the 2 inch pipe but that was welded on and I'm not so good yet with a welder.
  2. BWAHAHAHA The Nissan gods have smiled upon me. I have found a set of doug thorleys got them halfway installed and so far only broke 3 studs. Found the best way to get a stud out for us was to put a 24 inch extention on a drill, put a chuck on the extension, easy out on the chuck. then its just a straight shot through the wheel well. If we missed center on the stud we put a lefthand bit in and drilled the side of the off center hole till we crossed center then used a flat head screw driver and backed out the stud. Now I have a new problem the thorleys are 2.25 inches and my existing exhaust is only 2. I was thinking of just exhausting out infront of rear driverside wheel instead of trying to go over the rear axel. Any thoughts? thanks
  3. well count me in for at least one set.
  4. Is there anything specific that makes you feel that way? I'm kinda new to all the aftermarket stuff and looking to learn as much as possible. So far I haven't found out what the math is to figure out what the cam would do to my emissions. If you have a website I should check out I would be very grateful. Any thoughts on the nissan #2 cam?
  5. Hows the weather over there? Thorley discontinued production again on those headers and are not commiting to a date to resume. I am going to get there list of vendors that they last shipped to today and start calling. If all I can get are the pacsetters then so be it, but man I have read some horror stories about not fitting or craking after only a few years of service. Ultimatly my idea was to put one of the JWT ( part numbers AZ314-000S1 or AZ314-000S2) cams along with there upgraded ecu (ED210-NMC60). exhaust it all through some thorleys and figure out a decent high flow cat and muffler. Im not sure it would smog at that point I still need to do more research. I just got the pathy a couple months ago and just got it running good and smooth this month. Seafoam is king
  6. I'm planning my projects for my 1990 5spd. autozone special. I was thinking I would get a new cam and rebuild the engine (178000 mls) my main question is if I am stuck with a stock exhast manifold will I get any improvement from that new cam or will the backpressure in the manifold negate any gains from the cam. As I understand it without having a good exhaust useing a performance cam can cause problems The other question is does anyone know for sure if A. There are any doug thorley headers out there left? B. would they work on my pathy C. Any other viable options for headers? Thank you oh pathfinder gods for assisting this lowly newbie.
