  1. Hey thanks, Senshido. Just a slight delay on the Superskid as some machinery died. Taken alot longer than I predicted but nevertheless should be looking at Friday or Monday to finish that skid shown. The 2 peice I think will be a little ways down the road. -alcohol-
  2. Thanks, ya that lake getting in was pretty bad, didn't think I was going to make it a couple times. After trekking in there I have a different outlook on the Pathfinders. I still can't beleive I made it through with stock tires. That was a blast going up there. I have a video of that trip but it's not digital so I'm debating getting a digital camcorder so I could post it. I'll be going back up there into a different place after I get that Superskid finished. I know what IFS stands for, but the whole term stands for that the front Diff does not move with the suspension, therefore this skid covers the front diff. As for a solid Diff meaning the Diff moves with the suspension. This is the main difference between them there are more but you get what I am saying. The IFS term is just that, it is a whole unit not just suspension components. So when you look into it a little closer it means more than what your saying. But I see what your saying in the control arms but that is only part of the "IFS". But you can't put a plate over the control arms as the A arms there then they would have no flex. So for the rest of the IFS is protected with the plate. Along with all the other engine components which I haven't mentioned. Thanks for the replies as there appreciated I think this should clear some things up as to the whole term IFS, without getting into a long story.
  3. Thanks for all the replies this is what I have so far completed, and hopefully should be done by the end of the week. Pricing I will try to post on Tuesday or Wednesday. http://www.blackpantherskidplates.com Click on my website then click on the photos link pg#2.
  4. There will be the same amount of bolts for each. The 2 peice will be a tad more expensive but will be sold individually or as a set. The lip is not major(1/16") just letting you know it will be there. As for money wise I will post it on my website http://www.blackpantherskidplates.com Monday or Tuesday along with a pic of the superskid and some details. Hey thanks for the input.
  5. Yes it will be a bolt on. But being so large it is kind of awkward to take on and off so I am going to look at putting a hole in that place if I can. I should have some pics on it for Tuesday along with pricing of the Superskid. The 2peice skidplates should be done next week sometime. I hope this helps.
  6. I will look at it but then it will have to be large enough to get the filter out also. Problem with that is that if you are offroading you can get stick where you don't want it. I'll look at it tomorrow as it will be finished. I can always add that hole there. Thanks
  7. Ok how many of you guys would like 2 seperate plates and how many would like the solid plate. I will have both to offer but would like to know which you guys would prefer as then I will have more of that type. The differences will be if you have the 2 plates then oil changes are easier, small downside is that is that there would be a slight lip to join them. I will have pics of this when it is done. Ok the super skid, plus side is super strong with no lip. Downside is that oil changes are not going to pleasent. I beleive I will have the large skids first. Thanks Replies needed!
  8. I here ya, the pics showing that trail, was pretty brutal. I was thinking "ya should have a longer skid plate to cover those pans, but they are kinda tucked up another inch. Still it was harry at times, but I had a blast nothing broken nothing lost.
  9. Ya leave it to the dealership to screw something so easy up as to looking at a part# and it matched the 95's with that peice. Well thanks for the info,
  10. So every Pathfinder out there has IFS and no model has a solid diff in the front mmm. Well I didn't know that. So does your 88 pathy have a plastic peice too or at sometime did they come with real skidplates?
  11. You know I do beleive when I was asking about that plastic peice at the dealership he did say 95 and up all have that exact peice. I'll check again but maybe someone out there with a 95 want to just set the record straight. Thanks
  12. Whoops my mistake 96 & up. ? The 95's do they have front diff instead of IFS?
  13. Ya the new ones that I am designing this week will cover the oil pan, trani pan, IFS. Don't need no pics thanks anyways I have looked into it and there all exactly the same. But I will make sure that the skids fit every year from 95 and up before I send them, as the mounting holes might be off by 1/8 of an inch just to make things difficult, can't see it though. Price will be determined this week or week after when skidplate is completed, as I beleive everyone wants the longer version anyways. If you are interested in the version you see here, just voice it out and I'll hack out a price for you.
  14. http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/608653[/uR] Check out Skidplates & offroading pics on link. These skids will be offered along with the extended version plates there will be no middle hole on the plates. Ok squam I will know more of time frame this week as I beleive I am going to start with around 10 or so, best estimation will be about 3-4weeks for the version that covers the oil/tranni pan & IFS. As I am trying to make it for there is no drilling required, just bolt on. The version that is pictured 1-2 weeks. As more has to be made. I will post pics of the extended version as soon as it's done. Hope this helps. On your replies I will see how much demand is needed for production.
  15. More pics tommorow just bought dig camera. Ok boys did some homework and all Pthfinders from 95-2004 have the exactly same plastic splash gaurd which is $181.00 canadian (WOW). Anyways these plates shall work as they all seem to have the same holes but I will make sure with each year of Pathfinder. This is 2 pics so far but the extended version that covers the oil pan/tranni pan should be done this week. Ok if these pics don't go through check this link out "k" sony image station not allowed so can you guys point me in the right direction. Just go to gem lake album Here it goes 1st try. not good well click on the link anyone know any domains that I can use
  16. I'll se about the 96-99. Do they have that plastic also in the front or did they come with some sort of skid from factory? The plates are not alluminum. The skid plates that are done cover the IFS and the ones that I am working on cover the oil pan too. I'll try to get those pictures on here tommorrow. I'm using grade3 bolts instead of stock so existing holes can be used and no drilling required on the plate that covers the IFS, the other plate I am trying to make it the same way (existing holes). I think it would be easier if people can just take some bolts out put the new bolts in and done. No drilling. That's the plan. pics coming Friday.
  17. How many people would be interested in a skid plate for there 2000 plus Pathfinder as I finished one for my wifes Pathy and tested it out on the weekend. I will post pics of the plate when I get them back. They are also powder coated:Racing Purple,Black and Blue. They cover the front IFS,worked great. There will be 2 lines the version that just covers the IFS and the extended version that covers the oilpan to, I'm still working on. Both versions will both be powder coated. So any replies will be greatly appreciated.
  18. I don't think that is the same factory hitch that I installed, directions and pic is different. I did not follow those directions as I only took off the tow hooks. That hitch show in the pics looks like it is not one peice, to me anyways. I also didn't take off any rubber mounts either. Well good Luck have fun and let a kid help take it off & put it on!
  19. I just put a hitch on last night for my wifes 03 pathy and it took about 2 hours but it was just myself and my boy. This didn't include the wiring only thing you have to take off is the tow hooks both sides. Oh and there's 8 bolts and 2 spacers the dealer wanted $200.00 and sum to put this on. Do the drivers side first when putting the bolts loosley on first as it is the hardest of the 2. All in all it went pretty good. Have fun!
  20. Holy  I was telling my wife and she told me she has the same smell she said she thought it was my feet . Funny now I will take it to the chamey I hope this works for 2months.
  21. Have you tried the Chamey or some other detailing shop as I have a van that really smells from the kids spilling junk on the rug. After taking it there it smells good for about 2 months. As for Nissan I'm not surprised they have terrible customer service I told them to go to Dodge/Jeep for some training sessions on how to treat customers. After dealing with Nissan for my wifes Pathy, I would not get another Nissan I'm fedup with that service they really do suck! I have been to 4 different dealerships 1 is great but 2 Provinces away another is OK but the other 2 are just Nasty. I have e-mailed Nissan on this talked to them on the phone and nothing 2-3 e-mails phonecalls a week for about 2 months and still nothing. Oh someone apparently will get back to me.
  22. I agree squam I didn't know to much about leasing until I looked into it and the more I thought about it and crunched the numbers the more appealing it is. Like I said I pay 400 monthly tax incl. with 16000 plus tax at end of lease 4 year term with 7000 down works out to $44,440.00 everything included now with listed price buying it with taxes comes to 47,880.00. Now we all know you can get a way better deal than $44,880.00 without paying listed price when you are buying, but again you have to make a deal. This is Canadian pricing. All I'm saying depends on the person, if they want lower pmts and a buyout option. Well good luck either way you go, just make sure to hagle the best price.
  23. I agree if you just want to give it back at the end of lease not worth it. Ok explain how you get the shaft if you decide to keep the vehicle, I think not, it's just up to the purchaser to get the best deal.
  24. Manitoba, Canada To bad about the fishing though. Just think, top off all that offroading with tasty shore lunch.mmmmmmmmmm......yum
