Ok... located another local axle... a bronco I should be a dana 44 driver side drop with radius links right?
-
That sucks... Do you know what year they changed over to a driver side drop? I'm only asking because I'm not 100% positive of the year

So I've been contemplating a sas on my 87 pathy along with a few other goodies and making it pretty much an offroad only vehicle here in Alaska, where honestly they don't care what you drive as long as it has lights and wheels.. anyways back to the story. I've got a buddy who is a full time fabricator and who has done a sas on his chevy, and has offered to do a swap for a very small amount if I provide the parts as an alternative to rebuilding my IFS> I was just informed recently that there was a 78 cherokee chief sitting at the local scrap yard (city runs it) about to get crunched, and to pull a part is only $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I went up to look at it today, and couldn't tell due to the amounts of cars surrounding it. Does anybody know for sure that it is equipped with dana 44's? it was 6 lug, and from what I've researched on google they are... if so, i'm heading there tomorrow with a cutting torch

Aren't you worried about a rock taking out one of the fittings on your sliders? I love the setup by the way.

My parents actually owned a 92 rodeo, around when they first came out... and I remember more than once when My dad and I went out that it was pretty capable.. We forded a few streams, and chased down an old 1st gen bronco, when it was bone stock. I would probably never buy another one, I'm a nissan guy now

Update: Two of my refunds went through (by march 14th), I'm waiting on the third NINE days later, it's been "pending" since march 12th, which basically means that the bank can't transfer the money... otherwise it would have done so many days ago (2-4business days after transaction, like the first two). So I called paypal back, and they verified that the bank will not pay the money out for 10 days (after the attempted transaction, not date of refund) to paypal if there is non sufficient funds... and that was the ONLY reason that it would be taking so long... So ultimatly I'm a little pissed off, because I'm out $660 for another 5 days because my money was spent before the thought of returning an e-mail ever occured... Whatever, at this point I should just be happy that I'm getting it back at all right? I'm sick of this @!*%... I'm running a million dollar business right now, so I know what it's like to be busy, 16 hour days 7 days a week, and if I ever treated clients like this, I'd be run out of it pretty quickly... It's just ridiculous.

Yeah, i'd have to quit my day job if I ever got one... That just looks like it'd be too much fun, and I'm too much of a prankster.

Another really funny train horn video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkJwcR21VLk

Yeah, I hope this gets turned around...seeing as this forum will be the majority of his word of mouth marketing. I really was looking forward to using his products...
-
I agree. I just went out and bought a $30 idler arm assembly just to get around. I'll unfortunatly probably be going with the calmini kit now, which was my original choice... or just go crazy and sas haha.

Yeah, I did last week, just got the refund today.

I don't know man, he basically told me that he was going to ship mine today. It sucks that I had to resort to it, but I filed a claim last week, and finally received my money back and an e-mail from him today. Sucks that it took all that to get a response from him. Good luck.
-
He's still selling them... But make sure that you get a hold of him first, and get a date that he is planning on shipping before verifying payment... imo.

Good news, Phil contacted me today and refunded my money. Whether or not we are on good terms I don't know yet

/\ as stated in one of my first posts... I just hope all is well with him. I'm not too worried about when the parts get here, I've got time.. But the situation with paypal, and $1320 of my money being tied up because I can't get ahold of him sucks. I had to open a claim on paypal today to try to get it back. I literally talked to him a day before the first transaction, which was February 13th...and my accounts were all f'd up, tried it again on the 17th, same thing had my back up funding source and bank accounts backwards, and got charged again... then finally on the 22nd figured everything out with my bank, and that transaction went smooth... I'm still going to wait paitiently on my parts, but I can no longer wait paitiently for my money to be returned. Once again, I hope he's allright.
-
I understand the situation he is in... I couldn't imagine trying to do something on the side. Money is tight for me only because I'm investing in property that just so happens to be a hotel and restaurant... 25000sq ft owns me. I'll give him more time... now that I know the situation. I just hope that he still has my kit stocked

Update on L& It's been over 2 weeks now, and I have received no response from either Phil or the other Owner corresponding to my situation. I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place because I need to fix my truck as soon as possible, I did my part and made sure that he had everything in stock (when I could get a hold of Phil), and he even offered to help me out by throwing in a Idler Arm Bracket which I need as well, at no charge... but as soon as I sent payment (3 times because of a situation with paypal, that I screwed up on, but easily fixed by a denial of payment, a total of $1980 being held up), no response. Basically here are my options, have no money for bills because I have $1320 tied up in paypal. Or I file a claim to get the money back. I don't want to do that because I know that Phil is a good guy, and makes a great product. It just seems I'm in the wrong place at the right time. I called paypal today, and they said all they can do is e-mail him, and then if no response, file a claim.. seems like my choices are limited... What would you guys do?
-
Any word on Phil??? I still haven't recieved an e-mail or pm back concerning my orders, and it's been almost two weeks. I'm more concerned for himself than for my order. I hope everything is all right.

Anybody know what's going on with L&P Performance? Their site is down and I've been trying to get a hold of phil on this board, usually he answers my pms the same day, I haven't been able to get a hold of him for 2 weeks. Just a bit worried because I recently moved, and my paypal account is all screwed up and I ended up sending him payment twice and I have no way of getting a hold of him to cancel one of the orders... I know a lot of people stand behind their reputation, and I respect that and can't wait to get the product in. Does anybody have a number or e-mail that I can reach one of them directly at? Thanks Jake

Thanks for the info... now I just have to install a roof rack haha.. no factory rack here.

Ok... just did some more searching... Just want to make sure I understand this correctly: My truck came with the 4" trailmaster lift. I can add calmini rear +3" rear springs, front uca's and torsion bars and make it 7" of overall lift? Is it nessecary to lengthen the rear trailing arms (i think that's what they're called) to accomidate the extra lift? All this information is coming at me too soon
-
Thanks for the info I only ask because I've already been in a couple situations where I opened the hood and noticed that the muddy water mark was almost level with the air cleaner holder... I meant vg30i.. late night post. So it sounds like basically I have to fabricate a custom airbox on top of the tbi with a fitted airfilter, and the plumb out from there? Possibly to a arb wd21 snorkel? Sounds feasible..
-
I didn't even know what a diff drop kit was, but I did some research. It sounds like the 4" trailmaster kit drops the lower crossmember down. Why are these bad? There is obviously not going to be as much diff clearance, but other than that i'm not familiar with the drawbacks? Jake
-
I appreciate the response to my concerns... I have no doubt in the quality of your product, I've heard/read great things about it and would love to give it a try. I can't promise my business right now, but I'll more than likely be in contact with you. Thanks, Jake
-
Anybody have a write up on these?? I've seen a couple, but have heard that they're not compatible with the tbi?? Any link to a diy snorkel, or aftermarket would be awesome
