yes you can run 31's with stock suspension. but like 88 said put them on stock wheels or some kind of 15x7 or 15x8.
-
i wouldn't install those red. i am by no means a certified welder but i think i could do better welds than that. almost like it was a rush job. just being honest.
-
those wheels weren't stock 88. they were 15x10's off my 87 suburban so they stuck out quite a bit. i was just saying that with 15x10's if he launched into the air it would damage the fenders. the picture was so he could see the clearance with 15x10's. i wasn't trying to sound as if he couldn't run 31's. now that i went back and actully read what i posted i guess i did kind of sound like that sorry. like 88 said put some 31's on 15x7 and have fun.
-
if you want to fit 31's cheapest way would be to do a body lift. if you look in the waterproofing thread in the 90-95 pathfinder section you'll see mine with a 3" body lift with the 31's on 15x10's.
-
this is the best one i have for right now. nothing to fancy under the fender. i'll get pics of under fender this weekend, because it's hard to explain. first pic is before the suspension lift and 33's.
-
building a snorkel was pretty easy. cost me about 35 bucks for materials at lowe's. thanks by the way chris for your ecu relocation thread the last time you posted it, that's how i did mine. took a good part of the day doing the snorkel but not to bad. i'm happy with the results. now i just have to waterproof things under the hood if i ever get a weekend to work on it.

if i can find my old pic. of my 91xe it had 31's on 15x10 wheels with no lift. it shows how much clearance between the tires and the fender's. i don't know what you drive but if you launch into the air it will hit your fenders and the outcome would not be good. i posted it when i first joined but i have to look in my computer files to find it or scan it from the picture i have hanging on the wall. ***edit****scanned pic. no lift and 31's.
-
yes the lift can be accomplished on a saturday, shouldn't take to long unless something goes wrong.
-
i welded 2 tabs onto my yakima cross bar and mounted two 6"x9" lights. i'll get pics later.
-
when cranking up the torsion bars watch to make sure you don't strip out the adjuster bolts like i did. yes both of them stripped.
-
looks pretty nice. now go get some video of you going through the mud like you did in your pathfinder...
-
so do all firestone shops offer the lifetime alignment deal???

if it breaks down we have a 1-800 number in the cab that is our s.o.s number. they are the call center that will find someone in the area closest to you to either fix it or get another truck for you. swapping loads can be done also if need be. we had a customer break down once and we had it towed in and we ended up swapping loads with them. funny thing about it was he had 2 jet skis in the back of the truck along with his other stuff.
-
technically "no" you can't tow a u-haul trailer behind a penske truck but people do it. i've seen people do it. as long as the ball size is the same and the wiring is the same it will work. diesel is cheaper than gas at the present time at least here in washington.
-
i'm a mechanic so i don't know the rental side of it but i can find out and let you know. iirc we are pretty comparable to ryder and u-haul.
-
Penske is another rental place you can look at. i work for the one here in washington but we are nation wide. we have car trailers also. just my .02.
-
i'd be down for CO, AZ, or UT. i get 3 weeks paid vacation next year. August 08 sounds good to me. Me-Serious Kids-Very Serious wife-Not so Serious edit/wife and daughter out/son and i are a go. just needs to happen now.
-
why not just put a 4.3 v-6 out of a s-10 in. perhaps there won't be as many clearance issues. that's what i'm planning when my engine goes. just my .02.
-
yeah i definately am ready to go again. good luck on the s.a.s spolar.
-
hmmm. i going to have to try the wheel off the ground trick. but about the sway bar. mines long gone.
-
glad to hear about the new job jim. good luck. and about the npora gathering that is a BIG HELL YEAH!!!!!!
-
thermal wax i don't think is necessary. belts and tires are very good idea. cv axle boots if they are torn yeah replace them. exhaust manifold if money allows do headers. my driver side is leaking but i'm going to do headers when funds allow. the other stuff i'm not sure of but i'm sure someone else will comment on those.
-
most of that list you can do yourself for a lot less.
-
yes they do. at least the 6 lugs do. my wheels on my pathy are 15x10 off my 87 suburban.
-
that's why i don't let anybody else work on my vehicles. unless it's still under warranty like my titan is. but once that warranty is up i will do all the repairs.
