is the rotor as easy to swap or does than need fine tuning or is it tricky like point type

how hard is it to change the distributor cap on a 97? how hard is it to swap plugs and wires? any ideas

sorry it has 88k 89k on it. i only have whatever tranny cooler came with the truck

what is power shift? mt pathy is newer and only has over drive is that the same this or is it something completely different.

my tranny is shifting hardly. roughly? what ever i dont know when the last time the fluid was changed my dad was never big onto matenence. do you think new fluid could help the problem???

i just had that happen and i got from the cats back replaces and it was like 380 for oem parts

Uhhhh I think that is the oil cooler. i dont think pathys come with a tranny cooler or do the come with both?

well i have driven many 4 wheel drive trucks and i must say the only one i have never got stuck in was my pathy. last winter we got 5 feet of snow over night and it was wet and heavy. I didnt shovel i open the door put it in 4 low and went through it like nothing and i was goin like 10 mph no problem. with stock height ive gone trough water upto the bumper and mud upto the doors and ive yet to get stuck. Now im no pro driver but im no ameture (sp?) ive read plenty about wheelin climbing and drifting (accidentle sliding not on purpose). i wrecked my truck once 2 years ago in the wet and since i have devoted my self to learning about the car. but knowing what i do pathfinders are very hard to get stuck or roll over . i mean in the winter i was going by landrovers stuck on hills. Sorry about that the point was why is the 4 wheel drive system on a pathy so good? anything special or is it the car overall that makes it so rugged?

Well I went to his web site and its fairly vague. What exactly is a pop charger system. What does it do. is it worth the $160. Would this be a good place to start upgrading my engine. Im thinking about getting in addition to the springs and lift engine upgrades. I want to get intake and exhaust. a transmision cooler they do have one stock on 1997 le do they? i have some good tires waiting to go on. I love the sound of a pathy at wide open throttle with a high flow filter, you know they sound of it kicking up rocks and dirt as you tear down the track..... im heading out today for some light wheeling dont want to hurt the suspension ill come back around 8 thanks for you help. well to be honest its safer to just replace the probebly rusted bolts i mean they cant be expensive parts so i would just replace them its safer in the long run.

One of my current ecu codes is p1441 ELC system. Does anyone know what the elc system is and what may be causing this light? In addition to my rant about cold air intakes and shop mechanics the other codes are reading O2 sensors wich is an easy fix. Im just hung up on the ELC system so any help would be great!!! thanks

well i dont know how much longer i will own my pathy its have alot of problems and when i get out ouf college i will buy a brand new car maybe a new path i dont know yet but any way i need new suspension and im thinking about doing the whole this over buying parts and havong a garage put them on i dont have the resources to do it myself im thinking about ordering parts through automotive customizers but how involved it the suspension on a path i have a 97. it look fairly straight forward but what would i need other than coils shocks and struts

how about the oil pump if there is no oil flowing to the engie it would seize right just a guess but worth a shot

dirty should be an option i think that they all look good caked with some nice mud!!!!

the suspension of my pathy seems really loose. i can really shake it by hand like the whole truck rocks and if i hit bumps it takes a while for it to stabilize what could that be is it the struts how much for replacements how much would new suspension in the back cost rough estimates are fine thanks guys EDIT: sorry didnt mean to post this here. sorry

jb weld is holding my girl friends bumper on her saturn with the aid of ductape but i vote duct tape over all

ive tried taking off the 2 screws on it but it wont slide off and i dont like forceing things unless thats the only way to get it off because it has the over drive button on it and i dont want to make it worse than it already is

well you guys must be sick of my questions by now but this forum is like christmas for me. my shift nob for the tranny not 4 wheel is sticking well the button is the linkage is clean and nothings bent how hard is it to change it assuming a ican find one that will fit and beable to replace it any one ever done this before thanks guys i love this forum

i would sell mine for as much as i can get and buy one thats a 5 speed and start in on that rather than use the auto that i have 5 speeds are way more fun

no no i went to a mechanic and he told me the high flow filter threw off the computer i told him thats whack (inlight of a swear) i told him the o2 sensors in the exhaust burnt out wich they do on a 9 year old car so i think if they get replaced and then i go to pep boys or a speed shop and get one intalled it will be fine. I dont think the airflow will burn out a resistor because thats not how it works the codes coming up link to the emissions from the exuasht sensors and i have a code reader for my laptop so you guys are right i think they are giving me the run around. Sorry about my spelling i have my wisdom teeth out and the pain medicine isnt really making me feel so hot i hate it percs are not fun they leave my head in a fog and alls i want to do is drive but i dont dare drive while taking these meds
